Hi, I have a complaint about the TEPPANYAKIGRILL, in Phillipsburg, NJ. On 5÷28÷2016, party of two, came to your place for the dinner buffet at $ 11.99 each or $ 25.50PLUS tip. We got there around 5:30. We live in Bethlehem, Pa. and like to take the drive to P’Burg for your buffet, lunch or dinner but… no more! For whatever reason, there were a lot of HOT food items that WEREN’T HOT! And… there were hot food items that were just DRIEDOUT! Never had this experience before at your restaurant. Not happy! We left your place very disappointed and won’t be back for a while if at all!

Eh. Mediocre sushi, mediocre teppanyaki, everything else was decent but it should be a buck or two cheaper. Soft serve was good. I usually write long about buffets because I like them but this one was pretty average all around. I was starving and I was still underwhelmed. I actually preferred the smaller buffet that used to be here a few years back.

The service was good, but the food was pretty awful. I really wanted to love it, but it was just BAD.

As far as Asian buffets go, this place is awesome. I mean, c’mon…chocolate fountain? REAL ice cream? A hibachi grill? Quite a variety of food, even with just a tiny sampling, I wasn’t able to taste as many as I would have liked. Ambience: eh, it was kinda subdued when we were there. Practically empty. Décor: really? why would you give a rat’s butt? It’s a buffet, fer chrissakes. Food: What i had was pretty good. I freakin’ love hibachi grill. I had steak and shrimp, and it was goooood. From the dinner buffet, it was standard fare. I will have to go back and taste some more. What i did sample, seems to never change from one buffet to another. From the dessert buffet, the chocolate fountain where you can coat strawberries, is a nice touch. And you don’t have to settle for soft serve ice cream. Service: Ugh. The waitress didn’t really talk to us, it was more guttural noises. Like customers keep her from taking care of more pressing issues. And it’s not like she had to hurry away to another table, we went early and our room was practically empty. The hibachi guy doesn’t speak english, or maybe he just forgets when he is working? I dunno. But really really REALLY unfriendly staff. Good thing that I’m there to eat and not to make friends. I was thinking of downgrading to 3 stars just because of it. But I can’t stop thinking about my steak and shrimp hibachi, or the chocolate covered strawberries. Bottom line: it’s more like 3.5 stars, just because the workers almost hate customers. But it’s so much better than your average boring Asian buffet, that I’m giving it 4. That rating could go down… we’ll see.

Food is okay. Sushi isn’t bad. Food was cold, except for a few dishes. Workers there aren’t too bright. My relative wanted to sit by himself at the table next to us(he’s disabled), but the waitresses were being pushy about making him sit at our table. Mind you, there were plenty of open, available tables all around, so it wasn’t like it was busy. I finally had to tell the waitresses to leave him alone because he is disabled and he wanted to sit«over there». They finally let him be. Now for non-bright worker move #2… I noticed that the waitresses cleaned up a customer’s table(seated near us) before she even finished and sat another couple at her table! Again, workers there aren’t too bright.

I’ve been here several times. Food is good, not great; I do return. I like the large food choice selection for those time I want Chinese food, but cannot decide exactly what I want. Service is quick. I’ve been here once or twice on a weekend. Much more crowded and prices are increased.(Actually, overall prices were increased by a dollar from last year.) As someone else wrote, this is probably the best Chinese food choice in Phillipsburg.

If you want the most bang for your buck in this area, this is the place to be. The sushi is fresh and I was pleasantly surprised to find a chocolate fondue machine. This is not a flashy Manhattan or Flushing buffet where they serve you canned abalone and caviar, people! It’s really the best you can get in this area.

We come here every time we have a big group gathering. One of the very few places we can all agree on as there are plenty of delicious dishes to choose from, you can’t go wrong! Food is always fresh and tasty, some of my favorites are the raw clams, sushi and seafood — so much seafood; shrimp cocktail, coconut shrimp, calamari, fried fish fillet, the list goes on. Dessert selection is also plentiful, go on weekends for their chocolate fountain, I go a little crazy there. Interior is decorated nicely, it’s a nice place to take friends and family to, pretty backgrounds for photos, you won’t regret it!

I went here for dinner tonight, it’s a Sunday night, busy as usual, the problem wasn’t with the food, the food is generic Chinese style buffet food, I mean, look at the place, that’s what it is. The problem was the staff. We were«greeted» at the door by a woman who rolled her eyes and motioned for us to follow her to a corner of the restaurant that was packed so tightly it took us more than a couple of minutes to sit. She asked us what we wanted for drinks, but only waited long enough for one of us to order a water, then stormed away, returning close to twenty minutes later with two waters, even though we were seated about fifteen feet from the drink machine. We got up, and tried to fight the sea of people to get to the food, then fight our way back to the table to eat the food. Wet had only gotten through one plate each, when a different waitress came over, noticing my friends water was empty, and snatched the cup, angrily and loudly asking(yelling almost) «what soda!?» My friend said water, and she trudged off, leaving our empty plates at the table. They took my fork three times, took my chopsticks once, and rushed us out once they had decided that we were there for long enough. Plus the guy who makes the sushi(which is sub par at best) is a pig. Constantly whistling at female customers and winking, cat calls constantly. And he’s ALWAYSTHERE!!! Give the guy a day off so he can watch some porn and get it out of his system, geez. I almost forgot, the bathrooms… every single toilet seat had pee on it. EVERYSINGLEONE.

This is a very solid Chinese buffet. Don’t be fooled by the name of this restaurant. It’s not exactly a sushi buffet like Minado. The main food is all typical Chinese buffet food with a few extras such as fried potatoes and cheese pizza. It’s located right next to the Regal Cinema and Stop & Shop grocery which is convenient. All of the food is fresh and tasty which is what really separates this from the average all you can eat Chinese buffet.

Definitely great for the price. I mean $ 20 for sushi/hibachi dinner for 2… that’s a bargain. The buffet is a pretty standard Chinese buffet, but go for the pretty decent sushi and hibachi bar where you can make a fresh dish!

We have tried this place a few months ago, food tasted freezer burned? Wasn’t crazy about it…

I was surprised at this place. It is your typical buffet and I enjoyed it. What impressed me the most was how clean it is. The keep the place in nice shape. The only thing I didn’t like was the general Tao chicken had a weird sauce taste other than that everything was good. Hard and soft serve ice cream. I will be returning. Look for Val pak and other coupons around.

First two times we went, it was fabulous(Probably since they just opened). It’s been downhill after that. Food taste gross and old. Selection is not like it was before.

Although I will be the first to say buffets do not reflect what I consider fabulous dining, this place did leave me pleasantly surprised. I was immediately impressed by the fact they have a chocolate foundation upon entrance. There is never chocolate or anything great for dessert at buffets but a chocolate foundation?! Can we say, hello, hello! In terms of the selection, I was so pleased to see there was actually a lot of healthy options along with a massive seafood selection. I love seafood as I do not get to enjoy it on a regular basis so it was delightful to see they had so much seafood to offer! They also have a fairly decent sushi selection and a hibachi station which I guess is pretty standard these days for buffet places. Despite the awful reviews posted for this place, I stand behind my five star rating for the selection as it actually caters to the health conscious(it’s not just a ton of greasy American food), expansive selection as they have something for everyone(hey, if greasy American food is your thing, who am I to judge?), and the lovely chocolate fountain(that in itself makes it worth the trip). My advice is to not overeat so you can indulge in a little dessert at the end!

Ok the new place is huge and lots of choices. It was was very busy on a tuesday evening. I can only tolerate Asian buffet once in a while and not really keen on buffets but some folks love them and get there moneys worth! Only $ 10 for dinner. I actually thought the sushi was better than the average buffet. Most everything that I tried was a little bland, even the General Tso’s chicken! I can see where the chocolate fountain would appeal to some but I found it disgusting with children playing in it unsupervised… also self serve ice cream is gross! I guess I am slightly germ a phob and you buffet lovers should overlook my comments! I hear the bathrooms are nice :)

Large quantities of mediocre, yet edible Chinese food for cheap… just what the overweight population needs in America, IMHO! Sushi is not the greatest, but it never is at Chinese buffets. Hibachi chef did adequate job of cooking, but end result was less than expected. Language barrier made it hard to talk to him also.

This rating takes into account the price you pay, and the food you get(for lunch at least). This place opened recently, replacing the other Chinese buffet that was open nearby(China Grill), but it seems it has the same owners, or at least the same workers. The price is the same for lunch at least(around $ 7) and the quality is much, MUCH better. They have a larger selection of food, sushi, and even have a hibachi chef to make stir fry. And mind you, for $ 7, it is a steal! The quality of the food is better than it was in China grill. My only gripe was that one of the fish platters looked good, but it tasted very bland. The sushi selection is very basic and nothing special, but they do have crab and seaweed salad, which you cannot go wrong with. The hibachi selection is very good, with all different meats, seafood, noodles, and vegetables to choose from. You would pretty much get your money’s worth by just getting the hibachi. Dessert selection is good as well, which also includes a lot of fruits and hard ice cream to choose from. Since this place is new, it is very clean and the service was attentive. We shall see how this place will last in a few months. I still would have to try dinner and see if the food quality is increased with the price increase(dinner is only if I remember $ 10-$ 12!)
