As far as diners go, this one was fine. Waitress was friendly, food was served quick and nice portions. cant complain.

After having an early dinner yesterday, needless to say I woke up famish! Me and my eating partners decided to hit up our ‘go to’ breakfast spot. FOOD: I ordered the steak and eggs that also came with home fries and toast… the first go around the steak was a bit undercooked for my liking but the waitress was eager to correct the oversite. My wife had the chicken noodle soup which she deemed«okay» as she said the noodles were soggy, but it had a decent amount of chicken and vegetables. The cub had the«Lucky 7», we were STUFFED and satisfied. They had to roll us out of there. The portions are very large. AMBIANCE: Not the nicest place but not a complete dump either they are currently renovating their salad bar area from the front door area to near the bathroom(makes no sense but …*shrugs*). Not sure how the bathrooms look because we werent there that long. CON: food didnt really have much seasoning but it is bacon and eggs afterall. OVERALL: cheap and decent food we’ll be back!

I have been here several times and never used to be impressed, but lately they’re revamped their menu and I was pleasantly surprised. They cut it down to the twenty or so dishes that they do best, which I think is always a smart move for a diner. I got a veggie burger, which tasted fairly store bought but was also good quality, with noticeable chunks of beans and vegetables within. My boyfriend got a burger which he said was cooked nicely, and the fries were decently crisp. If my next experience here is solid, I’ll bump them up to four stars.

Stopped in for a late breakfast after early morning testing at the hospital so I was famished. At first the prices seemed overly high for diner breakfast but when my order came it was well worth it. I had the Classic Eggs Benedict. It was the best I have had in a very very long time! The eggs were coked perfectly, no skimping on the Canadian bacon, sauce was very good as well. Will be back for that again for sure! I have been here previously and I had heard there were new owners. Well it is evident in the cleanliness and how bright it is inside. My silver ware was spotless –very impressed! Staff was very accommodating and friendly and I didn’t even have to ask for a refill on my hot tea. Ask for Elizabeth’s section she was an awesome server.

A lucky find as we detoured through Bethlehem on our way back to I-78. The food is very good although not surprising for highway diner fare. Look for Victoria an Argentine woman who may be a bit distant but is beautiful in her special way. Typical diner menu with 1000’s of items. My pastrami and Swiss sandwich and my wife’s salad were both very good. A wide selection of high quality food from a very competent kitchen served by an interesting person. It gets no better on the New Jersey highways and byways.

It’s a small town diner. It’s clean and very big, so you can actually sit comfortably and enjoy a meal. I was there on a Sunday afternoon and the crown is definitely a bunch of regulars based on how the staff was speaking to them. It was a really nice atmosphere and they were great with my kids. The food was enjoyable.

Horrible. Absolutely horrible. My friend and I wanted to get some lunch at the key city dinner but settled for this place because of a long wait at the other diner. We should have waited… The food was gross and under cooked. The fish and chips were gooey. They were store bought cheep frozen sticks and they were not cooked fully. My friend got the chicken cordon blue and that was gross too. Nasty oily fried not baked chicken. It was a piece of fried chicken(or some kind of meat product, not sure it didn’t taste like chicken) a stack of ham, another piece of chicken and some cheese all piled together horribly. The vegetables weren’t even safe. She got corn and it was kinda brown and smelly. Like an old can of 25 cent corn kind of smelly. The waitress only took our order(with a sigh and attitude) and then never checked on us until she notice we weren’t eating for a while then asked if we were done. She also commented to a co-worker when we were sitting right there about my friends hair… Not appropriate at all. My friend had a feather clip on in her hair she got for christmas that the waitress loudly didn’t approve of… We got home and both of us felt sick from eating just a few bites of that«food». Never going there again. I wish there was a zero button for the stars they don’t deserve even one. Do not go there. Food is gross and will make you sick, an the servers are horrible.

Sunday, We arrived at this dinner at 10:45 am. We(5) came to eat breakfast. Most of us ended up eating lunch. The waitress brought us out lunch menus because we really could not decide. I picked the roast beef & swiss Panini with au jus. It was the first Panini I have had. It came with soup or French fries. I picked fries because the three soups they had, I was not in the mood for. The only reason for this review is because it was soooo good. There was plenty of food and I had a lot of trouble finishing my meal. I have eaten in most restaurants in Phillipsburg and the surrounding areas. This was plenty and was sooo good. Really hit the spot. I thought the cost of eating here was very reasonable. So glad I decided to try something different. I was very happy we decided to eat here today!

After an early morning exit from a tournament in Quakerstown, PA and a short stop to check out Lafayette College, my daughter and I needed some good Jersey diner food and when we saw the Phillipsburg Diner it was gonna have to be the place. Parking lot seemed to be packed so we assumed it was filled with locals-and it was. The place is your typical Jersey diner-simple décor, local waiters and waitresses, owners seemed to know a lot of the locals. We got a seat quickly in the back and they have a pretty extensive menu with your diner classics. My daughter decided on French onion soup and a chicken parm panini. I ordered the turkey panini, which came with this funky cranberry mustard that was absolutely delicious. We also ordered a side of fries. I had some coffee while my daughter enjoyed her soup, which she said was on par with most diner French onion soups-nice and salty, cheese caramelized, and the onions were done perfectly. Coffee was mediocre at best, but I don’t expect much from diner coffee. Service seemed to be a little slow, but it could have been because they were busy… not gonna kill them for it since I have no point of comparison as it was our only time there. When the food came it looked good for diner sandwiches. Fries were well done as requested and the sandwiches had a nice little char on them. My daughter would eat a chicken parm sandwich between two old shoe soles and say it was good, but she really enjoyed this one and it was her first panini. My turkey panini was ok-I was hoping it would be hot turkey, but it wasn’t…my bad for not asking. The cranberry mustard really pushed this sandwich into the delicious zone though-it really was a nice addition to an otherwise ‘ok’ sandwich. A solid three stars, not quite good enough for four, but not even close to two. If I’m in the area I’ll stop here again.

I have friends in Phillipsburg, and have been visiting them once or twice a year. So I’m getting familiar with the area slowly. Last time I was around I tried the Key City Diner, so this time I was able to try this establishment to give it a comparison. My friends joined me on this excursion, as did my wife. So we had a party of 6, two kids and 4 adults. As far as our entrees went, not too bad all around. I had a lasagna parmigana special which seemed to mean lasagna with extra mozzarella cheese on top. I polished it off, and I’d probably order it again if I were back here. Other diners seemed to have no complaints with their stuffed shells, chicken fingers, waffles, or burgers. I did get some pie for dessert after some initial confusion(the waitress didn’t realize I ordered the dinner special, and not just the entrée… I partly blame menu confusion on this), and it was good enough. Now for my complaint. So you get the soup bar or the salad bar with your meal. Despite them being located next to each other, you do NOT get both. Now, I’m not sure what they do if you try to sneak some salad with your soup. Maybe they shoot you. I don’t know. But, luckily enough I didn’t care much for the salad, I just wanted some chicken noodle soup anyway. Gang, if I were to call this soup lukewarm, it would be a generous assessment. In fact, I’ll just go ahead and label it cold. Inexcusable to have a soup bar and not have it properly heated. I’ll keep them at three stars because I’m feeling generous and the meals themselves were OK. However, next time I’m in town, it’s back to Key City for me.

I have to question some of the diners that gave this anything higher than 2 stars because this place is horrible. My boyfriend and i ate here for breakfast. The fruit cup looked like it was OLD canned fruit. Not appetizing from the eye, for sure. I had a ham and cheese omellette and it was just ok, but about a half hour after dinner i got very sick. I will NEVER eat here again. It was absolutely horrible.

Always a consistently good breakfast. Typical Greek diner. It’s a diner, so there isnt much more I can say. The food is good and so is the service. Compared to the other diner down the street this is by far the better of the two.

This was an absolute nightmare! We went for a quick family dinner this past Saturday for the first time and it was awful. Both my young kids got the hot dog meal. We found an ant crawling on our table. French fries were ok, but hot dogs looked all wrinkled as if they were sitting in water all day. My husband got the meatloaf sandwich and when he received it, it was cold. I ordered a turkey burger with onion rings and received French fries with what seemed to be a microwaved frozen turkey burger. I took one bite and it was gross. I sent it back and let the kids finish eating. When our bill came, I was charged 2 bucks for my one bite of the burger I took. Our server was nice but the manager who was there was very nasty. She refused to remove the 2 dollar charge and said that the meat came from a butcher. Sad to say but if that is true, they need to find a new butcher. I will NEVEREVERRETURN! The only reason they received 1 star is because I have no other choice.

Eat at your own risk. my husband had an omelet here for breakfast and about 30 minutes later when we got home he got very sick. Throwing up, diarrhea, chills, etc. Perhaps the eggs were bad? In any case, will never eat here again!

Been here twice for lunch. First experience was so-so. Ordered a portabella balsamic wrap which had much more oil than it did balsamic. I barely even tasted balsamic in it… Though I did come back a second time and ordered something else, can’t remember exactly what but it was much better. This is a typical Greek diner with reasonable prices and a soup/salad bar.

Yup, classic Americana at it’s best. Had the cheese burger deluxe= Xlent! Decaff=Fresh. The only thing I would change: hand cut fries instead of frozen. Very good food for the money coupled with friendly attentive service. I would recommend this diner for anyone who’s traveling through.

Definately 4 stars for what it is: a small town diner. It’s clean and updated on the inside, which is nice. The place is big. I was there on a Sunday afternoon around 2, and it was mostly older people inside. The waitress was nice. I really liked my food — cajun chicken sandwich with fries. The fries were really good. If you need to stop on your way into PA, this is a good place.
