100% the best bar I’ve ever been to. Staff is super helpful and friendly, selection is amazing, and the prices are unbelievably low. Wish I lived in the area so I could come here more often.

Great craft brew selection. Very good deals on growler refills. Met the owner behind the counter, very pleasant.

awesome prices and selection of beer ! the liquor was a little low stocked the last time I was there but they had two giant adorable dogs here that made up for that.

I remember the white gloves and whistles vaguely, but I clearly recall my uncle(rip) telling how he would stand on the manhole cover in the middle of the road and direct traffic prior to the stoplight being installed at the 3 way intersection where Northampton and S and N Main streets meet on the jersey side of the bridge. I don’t remember if this building facing that manhole cover was a restaurant or a hotel at the time, but it’s history is both storied and checkered, including a strip club and being burnt down to the ground. But this under-decorated, laid-back, and earthy-feeling watering hole would have been the perfect spot to finish off an 8 hour shift of directing traffic. There were 31 beers on tap last night. Plenty of seasonal holiday selections, as well as some intriguing choices that were fun to taste test. Barkeep was very helpful while reviewing the list of choices detailed on an iPad. There is something for everyone. I ended up with a delightful holiday Rude Elf and my brothers selected a double IPA and a 5oz pour of a bitter beer. All three were great! A coin operated pool table sits in the middle of the room next to the coolers, so we played a quick game. Actually, it was really quick. Brother #2 ran the table his first time up. I think he’s been practicing. What surprised me was how small the bar area actually is, and how large the packaged goods/retail space is. I guess it really is a store first, a bar second, and a feed store third.(dry dog food is stacked up for sale in the back!). I didn’t notice if they had any other beverages available(wine, etc) as we were focused on the brews, but that would probably mix up the clientele a bit. Plus, with all the wine and liquors available, taste testing wine would seem to make sense. Maybe we’ll go back and have a paddle tonight and check out the interior of the boxcar that’s currently roped off… lots of memories in there!

A delightfully strange combination of craft beer bar, liquor store and dog food supply store, Free Bridge consistently has one of the best craft beer selections in the Lehigh Valley. To-go prices are great, along with $ 5 growler night(!) on Thursdays. Chill atmosphere is supplemented with the occaional mountain dog or three relaxing on the couches or under the pool table. One of my favorite craft beer destinations in the area. I just read some of the comments on here about the birthday challenge, and I just want to make some things clear: The birthday challenge is for regulars, and it’s about 7 pints in a large Chimay glass, which is free if the person finishes it. It’s 100% voluntary(I’ve never done it), usually needs to be asked for, and you’re not allowed to do it unless you have a DD or taxi. I’ve seen a bunch of them done, never once under any pressure from bartenders or owner(makes sense, since it involves them giving away a TON of high-priced beer for free). The owner is a lovely woman who doesn’t drink hard alcohol, so I have no idea who the 19-year-old party girl described was, but I’ve never seen anyone like that working there. I’m a regular, and I’ve literally never seen anything like what that person described. My advice: Don’t drink 7 pints of beer anywhere if you don’t want to get drunk. But if you’re one of those people who want to drink a ton of beer on your birthday, the ones you’ll get at FreeBridge will at least be excellent craft brews. Side note: If you’re at all into craft spirits or meads, you won’t find a better selection in the region. They have a full line of a more artisanal beverages than anyone could want.

Great Vibe Here…, and also non pretentious clientele. can”t speak too well to the selection of wine and liquor, living in NYS, I am not accustomed to shopping for wine and liquor and beer in the same store, but the beer selection is strong. There is a bar there too… Once the service I received was kinda weird, but that a story that I won’t reveal here

Small place but great service on hard to find beers. They are always helpful and friendly. They are not the normal brand beers you find in a bar. Looing to try something new this is the place. Also have some wine and hard stuff on the side if you need something.

Both a bar and a liquor store. The store seems a little cluttered and unorganized, but they have an excellent selection and the employees are eager to help you find everything you need. Excellent beer selection and they give an opportunity to drink a 24 different draft beers at the bar, growlers to go, and a countless variety of bottled beer. Their wine selection is modest, but will work in a pinch. They also have all the essentials with a good selection of hard liquor. The greatest advantage of this store is it’s proximity to Pennsylvania where the liquor stores close early(especially on Monday’s and Tuesdays when most stores close at 7pm — or Sundays when most stores are closed). They are open until 2am daily if they have customers and can sell you beer and wine to go until close. There are restrictions on when they can sell hard liquor under law, so you may not be able to purchase anything with a high proof after a certain time(the exact time escapes me). Not your average liquor store due to the taproom on site; a solid place for a beer enthusiast.

Very good selection of craft and microbrews on tap and you can get a paddle of 4 beers to try out in case you can’t decide on one beer. The other day however I had a very bad experience with a friend as we mentioned to the owner that it was his birthday and without asking she basically poured him out a «birthday beer» which was a huge glass with the equivalent of ~12 beers which was pretty much forced upon him. Just because the owner is a bit of a 19 year old girl as far as partying is concerned doesn’t mean everyone is.

These guys just opened up in April of 2011 and thank goodness. They are primarily an excellent beer store, with a pretty wide and varied selection, but as the name implies, they also sell wine and liquor. The fun part is that they are also a tap room with some beers on tap that are pretty rare and hard to come by. You can belly-up to the bar, or sit at one of the dozen or so café tables. You’ll also find a couple of sleepy St. Bernards lying next to your table, or under the baby grand in the center of the room. There’s occasionally some live music, and they schedule beer brewing classes every so often. I live just across the bridge in PA, where the laws and taxes relating to beer are utterly ridiculous, so I am always happy to wander over the bridge for some beersanity. Even on blustery nights.
