As of late, they seem to be consistently out of stingers. Prices could be better… it’s attached to a Days Inn in Phenix City, FFS. $ 7 for a shot of peppermint schnapps… seriously?(Honestly, fair punishment for the douche that orders peppermint schnapps… but shot prices are shot prices, I’m assuming) Still love ya, though… but unless I’m with a friend wanting pitchers on a beautiful afternoon, I’m just coming to pick up a to go order. That food is still yum at a good price. HOLYMOLY, NOW I WANTNACHOS. Which reminds me, open up for lunch, already. End rant.

Service was great! It was a Wednesday so the wings were 50 cents each, they were big and delicious. I also tried the stingers and they were tasty too! I would go back again to see what else AJ’s has to offer.

We have been here many times after work to have a beer and even dinner a few times. The staff is managed well and there is plenty of room for groups of 10 without much fuss. Their stingers are very good(thin sliced steak wrapped around a jalapeño slice and cream cheese). They have a better beer selection than the chains and the service is at least as good. So as to not mislead anyone, it is still predominately a bar with pool tables and the customers are mostly contractors and hotel guests, so not as family friendly as you might expect being in a hotel. They do have a seperate restaurant space that fits the bill off the lobby. Overall, a nice place.

We visited here based on a recommendation from a co-worker. We drive past the Quality Inn every day and never thought to stop here. This is a very friendly place and the food is good. I had a very good grouper dish and my wife had talapia. It was very quiet and relaxed. I recommend you give this restaurant a try.

AJ’s is a bar with a grill. Holding them back from being more, if indeed they want to be more, is that 75% of their space is pool tables or bar, smoke, lots of loud pool players, smoke and smoke. The steak was aged as stated, cooked as ordered and tasty. Fresh broccoli with cheese(not velveeta) was good. Garlic mashed potatos were really well done. Creamy… I’m thinking sour cream added?, fresh herbs and, of course, garlic. Nice. Their menu includes a kid section(they are in the Quality Inn afterall) and includes PB&J! In addition to steaks they have pasta, seafood and salads… and desserts. Think of it as a good restaurant tucked in the empty spaces of a pool hall /sports bar. If you’re ok with that then AJ’s will be ok with you.
