We are beginning our fifth week of our disastrous re-​model. This job should have been completed in two weeks. When they painted the interior, they didn’t paint behind the toilets, leaving the walls white. I guess they didn’t think we would notice. Carpet estimate (we told them we wanted GOOD quality carpet) went from $ 25 square yard, and 131 yards, to $ 55 per yard and then said we need 171 yards. We now have a dent in our new stovetop from someone standing or putting their knee on it, and found one of our marble coffee tables broken in two sitting in the garage. When we asked the owner about it, he said when he picked it up, it just broke in half. We asked him why he didn’t tell us, and he didn’t have an answer. They installed a mantle that doesn’t even fit. Actually nailed it to the wall, and when we saw it we were in shock it was installed!!! New shower, which was almost $ 4000, has hardly any pressure, and the water gets warm, but never HOT. There is no way we will ever be able to shower in that bathroom in the winter. We paid contractor $ 500 to move all of our belongings in to the garage, and have our bed and two fold out WalMart chairs in our house. This is how we have been living for well over a month.
