I went to the drive thru– which has two lanes. Despite the high volume of business, the drive thru lane seemed to move efficiently and quick. The drive thru sound system to order needs to be fixed– there is an echo so it is a little hard to place the order because you can hear yourself. I agree with another reviewer– either you love the fries or you do not. I ordered the cheese fries(cost $ 2.89). The portion seemed very small for the price and there was not much cheese on the fries. I also ordered the triple burger for my husband, which also seemed small for the price. The bun was not strong enough(or it was saturated from the grease from the burger and the tomatoes) to hold the sandwich together. My husband said that the burger was very good and gave it a thumbs up. We also ordered the fried pickles. The container was not completely filled(which is a let down when restaurants do not provide the full portion). Like most fried food, the fried pickles were good. The smaller portions did not seem to have much pickle in them and were just breading. The best part of the meal by far was the frozen custard. I ordered the half and half and it was delicious and well worth the money($ 2.39) — hit the spot on a Sunday afternoon when I was looking for a cold treat. I am not sure if I would return to Freddy’s for the food, but I know that I will visit again for the Frozen Custard.

Freddy’s is pretty decent. Their burgers are pretty good. The meat is very thin, so you might want a double. We like the California burger, it has the special sauce. Their fries are a source of controversy, either you love them or hate them. They are super thin and crispy. I personally don’t like them, but my wife loves them. I would rather have a nice fry that I can pick up and dip and actually taste the potato, these are kind of like those potato strings you put on a hotdog. The fried pickles are ok, but I will not order them again. Their custard is the main reason to come. It’s good!

Oh my. The grease. Today was my first experience with eating at a Freddy’s, as one opened up recently quite nearby our home. The burger patties were paper thin and really, really greasy. Reasonably tastey, but I’m not used to that much fat. The thin fries were good, but, I am not much into fries. We tried the custard — it was tastey but the toppings were way too sweet with not as much flavor as one would expect. Even though it was mid-afternoon, the place was still very busy. They do have lots of customers, both local and Winter Texan. And it was also super noisy. Between the music of «jumping Jack flash» and the microphone announced orders, the customers chatter seemed to reverberate throughout the dining area. I had expected better, as I know some folks who are big fans. Maybe this was good fare in Kansas in the 1950’s, but it was not my idea of a wonderful lunch. Won’t be super excited to return… if I ever do, maybe will try their hotdogs?

Bacon and cheese double meat burger was tasty but the patties were very thin. Fries are good with their fry sauce but also thin. Felt like I could have gotten a better deal elsewhere.

I was visiting some family in the valley and was surprised to see a Freddy’s in Pharr. I always visit the one in San Antonio and get excellent service and I was excited to see one here. As I pull up to pay they gave me an ice cream cone. Only problem was that I didn’t order one. Then they gave me my drinks — 3 teas. I didn’t order teas I ordered pepsis. When they finally got it right the burgers were cold. And the fries were lacking flavor. Nothing like the food in San Antonio. Hopefully This location gets better with time.

Not great. Disappointed all around. I had high hopes for Freddie’s but they were shot down. First off, we waited 5 – 7 minutes at the drive-thru window for our food. That’s a long time to wait for fast food after you’ve already paid at the window. But I didn’t mind at the time because I was looking forward to some delicious food that a). We don’t have in Harlingen and b). I’ve never tried before. First off, the onion rings. Who doesn’t love a nice hot, golden brown, crispy onion ring. However, that’s not what I got. I received a dark brown, overcooked bag of onion rings that had a terrible, oily aftertaste. Moving on to the Philly Cheesesteak. Liquid nacho cheese. Really?! You make Philadelphia look bad. That’s gross. That’s all I have to say about that. All in all, the drive-thru and food experience needs major improvement. There’s lots of competition out there and if you aren’t great at what you do, you won’t be around very long.

So many variables go into making a positive food experience, even if it is fast food take out. While Freddie’s excels in the most important area of taste and quality; they fall short in the details. We have frequented this establishment’s drive thru a couple of times and each time they seem to get confused if we order more than 2 combos, confusion at the window is never a good thing. While at home we notice we were short an order of fries, received the wrong combo altogether and no napkins. On a positive note, the food really is tasty. The patties are thin so get a double to get a good grip of the flavor of the beef. This place is fairly new to the area, so I’m hoping things will get better from a customer service standpoint once the employees learn the ropes.

First time at Freddy’s and it is worth it. The burgers are delicious there fries are interesting but very good. Good size portions. Their custard is so much better than ice cream and some of their staff like Enedina, katelyn, Noël and their management staff made the dining experience exceptional.

Came in during Grand opening week so as expected was crowded. Basically if you wanted a seating you would need to hound over a table and hopefully They would be leaving soon. Any whoo… burgers were good, but nothing to really hype about. I would prefer sonics or Whataburgers. I’m not a fan of shoestring fries and their patties were a bit thin. Even a triple with bacon, I was able to finish half a hot dog and a patty melt. Staff were pretty friendly… a few offered any thing to take out of our way and asked about our visit. But again it was grand opening week so part of the game plan to impress.

First time here and here are my thoughts. 1st off… love that they support my low carb diet and offer lettuce wraps. I did have to try the fries to taste. Not bad. Mini shoestring style! Definitely benefits from some extra seasoning and malt vinegar. Good burger too! Great flavor but with a skinny patty. You can definitely get a triple and it might not fill you up. Still sprinkled some seasoning on it a la Red Robin style seasoned salt. Their fry sauce tastes like thousand island dressing and isn’t bad. Need to try desserts! Overall I recommend it!!!

Got two steakburgers with fries and rootbeer. Burger was way to salty. everything else was just ok. With the two steakburger combos they only put in one container of ketchup. Not nearly enough. No napkins. :)

These burgers are TWOLEGITTOQUIT! The chili cheese fries are awesome and the streak burger is so full of flavor and no dry spots like traditional ground beef. And staff is very friendly.
