My husband was as enthusiastic about looking at houses as I am about trying on bikinis, so Aaron had his day cut out for him. Luckily, he showed up with nothing but positive energy and his secret weapon – his son AJ. AJ is a great kid who has a bright future and was a great addition on our search. He schooled me a bit about granite which made me feel both grateful and stupid.
Aaron did a great job running interference between us and some of the «enthusiastic» on-​site folks who showed us homes. He took the crazy ones into another room and, I assume punched them in the face, because they came back way more calm. One of the agents tried to show us this super-​tiny house and Aaron wouldn’t even let us walk in. He said «Oh, no this is NOT it, I’m not even going to waste your time».
We actually found our dream house on the first day we went looking! I was ready to write checks and sign away my husband’s car, but Aaron convinced us to go out to dinner and think it over. We still decided that was the house and Aaron went to work on getting the price down.
You see, Aaron gets his commission from the seller, not us. I’m not sure what kind of pressure existed between him and the seller because we were completely removed from that process. We didn’t have this constant back and forth negotiations and I can’t tell you how nice it was never have to worry about it. In the end, Aaron was able to get us our home with nothing down, no closing costs, a fixed rate on our mortgage, a year of HOA fees paid, washer, dryer, fridge, and granite counters throw in for free. Our mortgage is $ 30 less than what we paid in rent!
Aaron sat with us through all the closing paperwork and hounded the company on our behalf for not getting us some of the final work before our closing. He came to all of our inspection appointments, clarified some of the terms we didn’t understand, followed the inspector around while we focused on important things like paint colors, and made sure no one swindled us at any time.
At closing, he gave us the all-​important gift certificate to Home Depot and a magnum of Grey Goose.
I can’t say enough about Aaron. He made my grumpy house-​hunting husband excited about looking for a home. He is personable, real, thorough, honest, and someone I can now call a friend
