Price: 1⁄5 Like other reviews mentioned, this bookstore is overpriced. Use Amazon or eBay instead for books. Other items like snacks or office supplies are reasonable. Service: 5⁄5 Nice people who are willing to help out. Location: 5⁄5 Well, it’s on campus which is great for a last minute purchase(pens, calculators, snack, paper, etc). Atmosphere: 3⁄5 Medium size bookstore that gets overcrowded with long lines at the beginning of the semester.

I usually go to the Santa Rosa JC bookstore, but they are both the same. All of their books are a rip off and you can get a way better deal on Amazon. You can either buy the book, rent it, or get it used on Amazon. Once I bought all my books at the bookstore, but then went on Amazon and got them for so much cheaper. I returned the books and got back $ 300 when I originally paid around $ 500! Most of the people are nice there and the girl that got my books was very helpful, and she was the same girl that returned my books. She was very friendly, but the cashier ringing up my books wasn’t too nice. If I’m going to get anything from the bookstore it will be the books that I can’t find online, my planner, and other school supplies. I think it’s important to somewhat support your own school bookstore.

Bottom line: just order your books on Amazon, and save yourself at least $ 150 and a lot of grief. The SRJC Petaluma Bookstore is big, newish, and extremely overpriced. There is a distinctly empty, disorganized vibe going on. The customer service here is nonexistent, and it is the ONLY show in town if you’d like to buy a textbook locally. The manager seems quite frazzled, and is downright rude to customers. Be VERY afraid if you’d like to make a return and have any complication whatsoever. The rudeness is mirrored by each and every one of the employees there.
