«Disc Golf COURSE» is misleading. This is a really nice city park that has disc golf goals scattered around. It’s a great place to bring your kids or practice throwing but don’t expect tee boxes, signs, or anything really that would lead you from one goal to the next.

Luchessi Park seems to be a bit of a run down city park in Petaluma, CA. On a recent visit out to San Francisco we saw online that there was a disc golf course here and since we were headed up to the Lagunitas Brewery nearby we thought we would stop and check it out. Lots of garbage around, it was Memorial Day Monday, but still. The disc golf layout is only 9 holes without much challenge or natural features. No cement tee boxes at all so we made it up as we went along. Apparently the tees are marked on the sidewalks but not well enough for us to find a single one on our first visit. The park is easy enough to find and has tennis courts, a baseball diamond, and a turf soccer field. We luckily were there early in the day to beat any crowds as the course weaves through the rest of the park. Overall pretty unimpressive but a disc golf course, for free, nonetheless. I wouldn’t head back again. If you live in the area and don’t have a lot of experience this course should be perfect for you, particularly for bringing kids along.
