I couldn’t warn people enough to stay away from this guy. A member of my family was a worker for him which is basically the only reason I hired him at all. He has no people skills at all, and tried to argue with me on numerous occasions. We hired him to do a full kitchen remodel, with the caveat that my family member(who again was one of his workers) and myself would be doing as much as possible on our own so that we could save money. Things started out fine, but then he tried to tell me it would cost $ 300 per cabinet to install them. Keep in mind, these are pre done cabinets from Home Depot. They’re already put together, they just need to be hung on the wall. I contacted several other contractors and got an average bid of around $ 150 a cabinet. Jason refused to go below $ 250 a cabinet, and so I told him that we’d have to bring someone else in for that part of the job. He then showed up at my house(it was vacant as we’d just purchased) at 6 am to rip out a sliding glass door. I thought I had made it pretty clear that we wanted to replace it with an 8 foot door, but I decided to call him first thing in the morning just to make sure we were on the same page. I call him at 730 and he rudely informs me that the door is already removed and that an 8 foot door is a specialty item that has to be ordered, and that no one in the county would stock it. Thats great, but how would I know that? I told him to finish up the door, and he did, except it wouldn’t latch. He looked at it again and said that it would work fine once the door settled or something to that extent. After having a handyman take a look at the outside stucco, he noticed right away that the framing of the door was rotted underneath, causing the door to sink down slightly and not align with the latch. Jason refused to redo his work, stating that he hadn’t done anything wrong. I had the handyman pull out the brand new door, replace the rotted wood, replaced the door, and voila! It worked perfectly. Additionally, we had to move a gas line as we moved the location of the gas oven. Jason decided to use about 8 feet of flex hose to move this line. When we brought a plumber in to install our oven, he was shocked at what he saw and told us that not only was it not to code, but that it was flat out dangerous. We had him crawl under the house and redo this the right way. If this is the way that Jason does things for one of his worker’s(now ex-worker) family, imagine how he’ll do things at your house.

Jason is the Best! Had a large reno project while being many miles away. He was trustworthy, conscientious, patient with me, and took initiative to always have project move forward despite the usual setbacks. He hires good people. Feel so lucky and grateful to have found such a straight-up solid contractor.

I had a rather small job for Jason but I was very impressed with him and his crew. Very detail oriented and fastidious about clean up etc. He will certainly be my first call for anything else that comes up.

Rochlin Construction remodeled our kitchen and did a great job. Always on time, reliable, trustworthy and attention to detail. Fine workmanship and very flexible to work with. Remodeling can have lots of surprises, but Jason and his crew had the energy to make the project seamless.
