The fish is always fresh when we go to the market. We always get tuna(ahi). I use it to make poke(pronounced po-kay) which is a dish that is popular in Hawai‘i.

Another great experience here. I once again bag the oyster platter. both with onion rings(they were out of calamari) and remoulade sauce. It was great. Crisp and seasoned well. I also had the beignets for dessert. Which was also great. That also add friendly attentive staff.

Great new location! Ambiance: Very well appointed and designed. Food: Amazing flavor and pretty good quality. Almost too rich for me but I am picky. Service: Our server was fairly lazy and almost seemed as working to make money was not her calling. Kitchen was also very slow(may have been because it was Sunday at lunch). It took almost 2 hours from start to finish to eat here. Once they find the right staff and rythethm this restraunt will be a top contender.

I’d like to address the comments about the lighting and lack of music. The lighting is adequate not like you are being interrogated like other reviews suggested, however you are not dining in the dark. No there is no music so you are forced to coverage with the people in your party. Strange that people find that awkward. Now on to my review of the food! The crawfish are amazing! Never a disappointment even Off Season! The crawfish tails app is a favorite of mine and so are the alligator bites! Both have great flavor The calamari is a bit thick for me and was a little tough To chew. Reminded me of half shell oyster house both serve a thick calamari. The red beans and rice are perfect on a cold night. My son loves the grilled Mahi Mahi The roast beef poboy with gravy was bland and not a favorite not sure we will order that again We finished up the night with the beignets that were amazing!

They’ve opened a new location in Petal that is now on the main highway and is one of your only choices in the area. The atmosphere was thrown off by no music being played and just mumbles of others nearby. As well — the lighting makes you feel as if you’re on a stage with spotlights shining in your eye as you eat. Not very warm and/or cozy — much like a fast food type feel. If you’re lucky enough to get a table in the middle of the room — you have the great fortune of being gawked at as you eat amongst the local demographic. This area is a modest town with the blue collar worker and the restaurant does its best to cater to that. On to the food — the house salad is very much basic with nothing over the top. The gumbo scored a 5 out of 10 — not going to impress those that enjoy excellent seafood. The fried shrimp score a 4 out of 10 and was very bland in my opinion. Overall — the atmosphere is un-inviting and uncomfortable. The food overall is a 4 out of 10. My recommendation would be take the extra 10 minute drive to Crescent City and/or Half Shell Oyster House in Hattiesburg. If you’re on a budget and used to fast food or a more basic cuisine and in a pinch — it will fill you up. Advice to the owners — warm up your inside and make it feel more fine /nice dining with the proper lighting and add soft music to fill the rooms and avoid the awkward silence and random conversations by others.

So came to this place with my family. Took a little while, as expected, to get our food because there were about 20 of us. The servers made sure we had everything we needed, drinks, condiments, and everyone for their correct food and the same time. My only complaint is that I ordered Tuna steak cooked medium and it was well done. The one sure fire way to ruin a fish is to overcook it. Oysters are big and taste great. Grilled catfish was very good and their coleslaw was good also.

Came around 1:15 just in time to miss the lunch crowd so service was pretty fast. Had a catfish platter and was pleasantly surprised for the price. Other places give you 2 or 3 skinny filets. I received 4 nice sized pieces. Fresh steamed vegetables were lightly seasoned and the coleslaw was just right — not too sweet or laden with vinegar. Ordered beignets for dessert. They were a little heavy but still tasty. The décor was somewhat lacking but that didn’t affect the meal. Based on this first experience, I would return.

I would eat here again if I didn’t feel like cooking and if I was tired of everything else. So it wasn’t bad. It was just… about as good as the frozen boxed seafood I can get at Walmart and heat in the oven. And the atmosphere was meh. It was like a diner, except with seafood prices.

Me and my friend came here when I had visit him from fl and I wanted seafood. So we came here and 1st night we got seated and took our server 15 mins to come to us and when she did she was rude as can be and we got your food a seafood platter that was good in fact very good. So we decided to come the next day for the all you can eat crewfish and all i got to say was another rude server who kept forgetting us and this time crawfish to me was not as tasty as some of the other places i had eating while being down here. They need to train there servers better if they had that I would give them 4 stars.

I’ve been three times this week. Had a soft shell poboy, hamburger poboy, and a roast beef poboy. Also had some crawfish bites which are wonderful.

Great po-boy lunch specials, huge salads and friendly staff. The Wharf has the best prices on crawfish and shrimp in the Hattiesburg/Petal area hands-down. I also enjoy the hamburger and praline cheesecake.
