We had a fabulous waitress and it made everything more enjoyable! Our appetizers came out after our main course and that threw us off. The hostesses at the front are total duds. One looked like she was just got dumped by her boyfriend the day before Prom or something. Forget a pleasant welcoming smile. Oh and you mind as well forget them opening the door for you when you leave. They don’t even say thanks for dining with us. The food is mediocre for the price but the ambience is really quite nice.

The service here always seems to be touch and go. The food seems to always remain on par. The sushi always seems to be good. I don’t eat the fried grilled stuff.

YUM! I love these places. Especially this one! Although it is a bit pricy, it’s always worth it because the food is so tasty. Good drink selection and sushi selection. Yum Yum sauce is a must.

Was very disappointed. The restaurant was only half-full but yet when I ordered the special sushi roll which supposedly had tempura shrimp in it, there was no crunch at all. After eating a few bites and realizing it had been premade and sitting in refrigeration, I commented to the staff and all they said was«yes there is shrimp tempura in it!» It may be conveniently across the street from the Hilton Garden Inn but it is worth the walk or drive to go to another eatery!

I’m disappointed. to be honest I had expectation for this place But after trying this place twice i don’t think i will be back any time soon The place looks fancy, the decoration are awesome. It’s a good place a family dinner but the food is ok «not that good» I had the fillet mignon hibachi, and it tasted like a regular steak, their sushi was fine. Servants are slow.

I hate to do this since its the best restaurant in the area but they have no common sense at all sitting 4300 lb + next to each other and a family of 5 people at the same table the two kids at the other end of the table are taking literally more space then the 4 of us when i asked the waitress to change our table instead of asking the family to adjust there chairs she made us wait another 15 minutes.

This place was pretty good. Not outstanding, but decent. The hostess stand always seemed a little crowded with employees and it would have been nice if they had gotten my name right after telling them 3 times what it was plus the spelling. But oh well. Even though we received a cold welcoming upon arriving, our server was very friendly and knowledgable of the food menu as well as the drink menu. The wait for our food wasn’t long at all which was surprising. My boyfriend had a large platter of sushi and I had the swordfish. I’m not much of an eater of raw fish so I can’t give a personal opinion of his dish, but he said it was the best he’s had before. I had the teriyaki swordfish with veggies and rice. Prior to coming to Nagoya, I never tried swordfish but was pleasantly surprised. It was soft and a perfect blend of sweet and savory. The server was spot on when she said swordfish has a mild flavor and many stated it tastes like chicken. I probably won’t order it again, simply because if I wanted something that tastes like chicken, I’d order chicken. I gave 4 stars instead of 5 only because there wasn’t anything that gave it that«WOW» factor and because the haphazard first impression. But over it was fairly good.

Went to Nagoya on Christmas Eve. As busy as Christmas Eve can be(especially with their excellent gift card deal), we got in 15 minutes after our reservation time, which was not overwhelming as we attending church prior to dinner. We did not have hibachi and just sushi. It was ok but not overwhelming. Service and ambiance was great however and bumps and the visit to Nagoya today. I’m sure had we had the hibachi, I would have scored this a 5⁄5.

The ambiance is great. Sushi quality is very good. Service is prompt, very attentive and friendly. Its large enough to accommodate with walk-ins unless its for hibachi on the weekend. Their sushi rolls are tasty and reasonably priced. Very good option to dine in for Toledo and area around it.

The sushi was really excellent! Fresh ingredients! Everything else was just a little too salty. The bone in rib eye was cooked correctly and the meat it self was great, but the sauce on top of it killed the dish for me because it was extremely salty. Will definitely go back for sushi when in the area again. The kids hibachi meal was great too just a little too salty. Not sure if that’s just how the people in the area like their food.

This is my favorite restaurant in the Toledo area. The atmosphere is great, the hibachi chefs are wonderful and super fun. The food is always good, and the saketini is the best drink to get your night started.

So my African-American friend and myself, Asian woman, have been to Nagoya in March 2014. First thing that you will notice when entering the restaurant is the number of waiters and waitresses working there, even on an early shift, with few customers around. I ordered a cocktail, the waiter asked for my ID. The usual for me as even if I’m 29 I’m always being asked for ID when ordering alcohol, so I gave him my passport. We also ordered some appetizers and sushi. What we noticed is that despite the number of servers in the restaurant, the service was pretty slow, so you really wonder why there are here for. The food was allright, the overall experience was OKish. Second time going to Nagoya with the same friend in November 2014. This time we decided to get the Hibachi. Like last time I ordered a cocktail, again the waiter asked for my ID and again I gave my passport. But then and this is when the situation turned ugly. The waiter came back with his manager, and she said to us that and here are her words«I can not accept this form of ID». Surprised and shocked by what she just said, we just asked«How come?» and this was her answer«It is a State Law» and asked me if I have another form of ID. I then showed her my Permanent Resident card as I do not have a driver license and said to her that we came here before and ordered alcohol too and we had no issue. She then said again that my passport is not a valuable proof of identification and that regarding the Ohio’s Law she could not accept my ID. She was kind of reluctant to allow me to have this cocktail and finally said to us that for this time it would be fine. Still under the shock of what she told us, we talked for few minutes and decided to leave the restaurant as we thought that what she said to us was awkward and weird. I have never ever in my life heard of this law before! So let’s be honest, it was discrimination. She bullshited us with a bogus law and took us for more stupids than what we are. Basically she lied to us and when interpreting her words, tourists in the State of Ohio can not order/drink alcohol as a Passport is not a valuable proof of identification. What kind of bullshit is that? Kind of funny, it is a Japanese restaurant whose manager does not want to serve Asian customer. A passport is an international ID, and if you could not order alcohol with a passport, I think people would be aware of this law! Since living in the US, I have been in many bars, restaurants in New York, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Dallas, Michigan and Ohio and they all accepted my passport when ordering alcohol. Nagoya is a Japanese restaurant, owned and run by white folks, all their staff is white, no diversity at all, like no African-American, no Hispanics, no Asian. Oh wait a minute, Yes, the Sushi chefs and the Hibachi cooks are Asian, as the restaurant has to look authentic and a Japanese restaurant with an ALLWHITE staff would definitely looks less genuine and ridiculous. Nagoya never again, rude and racist staff. Plus you have better Japanese restaurant in the area!!!

An excellent family or friend outing. The food is packed with flavor and it gives this steakhouse a unique presence. Friendly and outgoing staff, made for a fun night. For the area, this is also one of the more upscale dining experiences. Treat yourself! Wifi Thanks bro!

Nagoya is quietly situated in the back of Levis Commons Shopping Area and offers a great menu! I love to go with a large group and sit at the Hibachi tables where they cook right in front of you. It’s a very fun experience for children as well. I went with my friends for their son’s birthday and he loved the fire and watching them make his chicken and rice in front of him. The fried rice is outstanding and I could eat it all day. The sushi there is absolutely delicious as well! Nagoya is not only hibachi, but has separate private tables as well. It is a fantastic restaurant that I would highly recommend.

Good food. Good show. Very indifferent service. Slow. Had to wait for my water glass to be refilled four times. Nice company of strangers. They were celebrating a birthday. Everyone was happy. Just took a long time.

We stopped after finding on Unilocal, and was pleasantly surprised at how nice the place was. Service was good, sushi was good, and couldn’t see what all the complaints were about. Would come back if in the area again.

For the price, only ok for me. I ordered an avocado salad, beef negimaki and the sea bass shisoyaki to go. Beef was really good and tender, sea bass was tough and tasted like it was cooked a bit too long, and the salad was kind of a joke. It was nice they gave you an entire sliced avocado with the mixed greens but for $ 10, made no sense. I may eat here again if I’m too lazy to go anywhere other than go across the street from the Hilton, but that’s about it.

I ordered take out from here. It was a pretty busy night for a Thursday night at Nagoya. They didn’t pick up my phone call — I had to call three times to get through. My review is just on the food I ordered for takeout. I ordered a salmon avocado roll, kamahachi roll, and the spicy tuna roll. All three rolls totaled $ 23 which is pretty decent considering it is three whole rolls(I eat sushi a LOT). The salmon avocado roll was lacking — I’ve had better at other places. The spicy tuna was very spicy — I think they mixed too much spicy mayo with the fish. The kamahachi roll was good though. I really enjoyed the flavor and texture of the fish. Overall, decent rolls — it meets the average standards that I normally get for sushi. It took about 25 minutes for my dinner to be ready. The staff was nice!
