Gene & Boots Candies

Outstanding! The chocolate covered strawberry was delicious! if you don’t have a reason to come that’s it!

Seriously, when you walk in you’re in heaven. It maybe small, but there are many chocolates to choose from.
It was hard for me to choose, so I ended up getting the small truffle sampler.
When I tried the first bite, one word to describe it is amazing !
The chocolate just melts in your mouth.
Staff was extra friendly.
The outside of the building looks like a gingerbread house.
Oh how much i want to go back. Just the name draws you in…
So mmmm good!

Has a pretty large variety of chocolate candies that are apparently made in house. I thought that they were a bit on the high side and was actually expecting more out of the place based on the size of the building it is located in and the bright colors the building is painted. The staff’s knowledge of the products they had was a little bit lacking.

Fun Place to drool. All types of homemade candies and ice cream. Stopped on the why to Ohiopyle and picked up a few items and had an ice cream treat.

I love this candy store not only because they have a huge variety of pick & choose penny candy (is it right to even call it that anymore?) And homemade fudge and candies but because it transports me back to my childhood when my biggest decision was a jar of peanut butter pillows or half a pound of peanut butter fudge… or both

Heading down Route 51 South from Pittsburgh toward Uniontown, it’s difficult to miss this marvelous celebration of pastels galore, purple neon, anthropomorphic ice cream cones and gingerbread!!! «Wait, you didn’t see it?! Turn around, we’re going back!!!» Gene and Boots Chocolate Factory is irresistibly kitschy; this was a three star review before I even went inside! Admittedly, the interior environment is less sensational, but it still warrants that «kid in a candy store» feeling, for real, so I guess I just mean that I felt like a kid! I rediscovered an old favorite, they call ‘em Misty Mints, and my excitement over these will melt only very slowly. The chocolates that I’ve tried so far are delicious and I look forward to arranging a custom box for somebody special someday. And beside gifts for every occasion, I reckon this is a fantastic place to take the little brats in your life.
