My wife and I were out and about the other day and we stopped by Wests Farmers Market on a whim. I have been to Wests dozens of times but this time was memorable. I walked into the front of their store where they keep the apples and was surrounded by the sweet scent of 15 different varieties of apples. It was a great sensory experience that was made better knowing that the West family grew them on the same land they have farmed since the late 1800’s. I bought some Honey Crisp apples that are much better than what you buy at a grocery. I also bought some apple cider that was some of the best I’ve ever tasted. Pressed and bottled onsite. I actively support local farmers and encourage others to do so. Come out to Wests in the summer and Fall to buy your fruit and veggies. I promise you will not go away unhappy. Good people that grow good food.

Driving from Fairport Harbor to Jefferson on hwy 2 we saw a sign that said sweet corn. That’s what we were after. We stopped at this store and they had the yellow/white corn and they had the white corn. We have found the white corn to be the sweeter of the varieties. We got 6 ears of corn. We also got pickling cucumbers. We don’t pickle them, we just like them better than regular cucumbers. They had all kinds of veggies and also peaches. All looked to be very fresh.
