My experience here was great! I came here on a date and was very impressed. Middle of nowhere, yes, but worth the drive and money. We went around 5, so it wasn’t busy at all, but it picked up quickly after that. All members of the staff were very friendly and personable. The food was, as you’d hope, the best part. We started off with New England Clam Chowder, which was nice and thick with great flavors. Many of the entrée menu options sounded delicious, and I didn’t know which to try. One of the specials, though, was a pork tenderloin with blueberry balsamic glaze on mashed potatoes. I’m not joking when I say it was one of the best dishes I have ever tasted. I wish I could explain, but no words can describe how delicious it tasted. This is definitely a restaurant I will come back to visit.

This place is hardly a hole in the wall. It’s cute, warm, and welcoming… and has obviously been remodeled over the years. It’s reportedly been in business since 1932. I hope I look nearly that good when I’m 83! Two of us had an early dinner here. We were starving and had no idea where to eat and the handy-dandy Unilocal app on my phone kind of guided us to this place. Now it’s going to be a destination, not just a find. The French Onion Soup that I started with was hands down the best I’ve ever had. The broth was rich, but not too salty. The bread supporting the huge amount of gooey, flavorful cheese was not soggy. And, the flavors melded perfectly. My cheeseburger(with cheddar cheese as requested instead of the American) was perfectly cooked and flavorful. It was accompanied by so-so(reportedly) hand-cut thin fries and a tasty(but sad looking pickle). My boyfriend’s Reuben was absolutely enormous! It was filled with so much tender, tasty corned beef, sauerkraut, and Swiss cheese that I never thought he’d be able to lift it without everything toppling out… but he managed… and managed to devour every single delicious bite. We were really too full to have dessert, but managed to share one any way. The Snickers Pie was better than imagined: A peanut-butter cookie crust was filled with all sorts of things good and chocolaty and peanut-buttery and then topped with a hunk of Snickers and a caramel drizzle and a dollop of real whipped cream. Wow!

A real find and a wonderful surprise to discover this restaurant. We were visiting Letchworth State Park for the weekend. Our friend lives near there and took us to this most enjoyable restaurant near Silver Lake NY. Even if you have to travel a ways It Will Be Worth the drive. Unassuming outdoor appearance, but super clean and neat inside with great friendly service. The food was superb. Price point is great for the amazing quality of the food. I cannot say enough good things about the chef and his team. A real find! I am sure you will agree. If you are anywhere near this part of NY, then make sure you try Hole In The Wall no matter how far out of your way it may be.

A great place to eat. Nothing fancy but generous amounts of excellent food. Plan on bringing some home. Save room for pie. A small town place to eat and meet everyone you know.

It has changed from a quaint place with a lot of atmosphere, extra good food, reasonable prices to a dark blah place with good food but nothing to write home about, and upscale prices. Management has changed generations and its not good.

I was really excited to find this place on my way down to Corning and the hostess was very nice and accomodating. Thats pretty much where the wheels fell off. The waitress took forever to get to us. Then it took forever to get our drinks. I ordered prime rib with scallops, shrimp and french onion soup. My wife ordered clam chowder and shrimp and scallops broiled. The clam chowder was good which is high praise coming from my wife. The french onion had no cheese, stale bread and no flavor. It wasnt the worst I have ever had bit it was up there. Her broiled shrimp and scallops had a weird burnt aftertaste. My shrimp and scallops were perfectly cooked. The prime rib was the worst I have ever encountered. Ever. It was so tough a steak knife couldnt cut it and it was on the rare side which I like! They should be ashamed to serve that cut of meat and charge money for it. I am going to go back on the off chance it was just a bad night because I feel like I owe them that. I will post an updated review when I do.

I have been here several times. But recently, my entire family and I went for my dad’s birthday and it was a blast. The waitresses were awesome and the food was delicious. They have a HUGE selection for their menu too, which is always a plus.

The staff is amazing and the food never disappoints. I used to get the salmon all the time, I highly recommend it. Now I get the filet mignon which is also delicious. Definitely eat here, you will love it.

The Hole in the Wall is a restaurant that I sometimes forget about because it isn’t on the beaten path, but when I do I am always pleasantly reminded just how much I like this place. It has without a doubt my most favorite restaurant sandwich/entrée in the area — the grilled chicken pita — it’s not like any you’ve had before. And if you’re looking for a caterer, look no further. Anita, Jackie and Travis will work with you to create an occasion remembered by your guests for a long time. They were the crowning touch to a beautiful July wedding for my daughter. Delicious fare AND beautifully presented. I have been to other meetings and events catered by them and have only good things to say about my experiences. Definitely my favorite in Perry, NY!

Food for all types of eaters. But can, t be matched for interesting offerings and local ingredients. Saturday market specials use seasonal ingredients creatively and deliciously. Interesting and reasonable wine list. Friendly and efficient service.
