El Buen Gusto

My server is currently across the street at the Ben Franklin, he has been gone about 10 minutes. Your guess is as good as mine of why he’s over there, and not here.
Add in the crying baby of one of the other worker’s, and I have to admit, this has been an unusual dining experience.
I had to get up and ask for a refill of my iced tea. Seriously, I find the entire thing amusing. Others might not find it so.
The 4 tacos pastor were very filling, and were pretty good. I had 2 pupusas which were excellent. There was a choice of pupusas, I let the server pick two out, his choice. The menu looked to have a nice variety.
Server still not back. Yikes.
Another unusual thing, when I asked for the Wi-​Fi password the server asked to use my iPod so that he could enter the password. Maybe it was in Spanish, I just don’t know what to think.
Be prepared for the unusual. I’d give it more stars, but this is wacky.
(After I left, I went to the Ben Franklin to the area that my server was standing. Apparently he was at the photo kiosk getting prints made. Huh? Who does that?)

Awesome place to eat. Not real fast but well worth the wait. So, so good. We biked from Waukee on the bike trail and stopped for lunch. We had Garnachas Chapinas, Chicken tacos, and Pupusas (only $ 1.50 each). Everything was freshly made and authentic. We want to return to try tamales and tacos with tongue. They were out when we came on Monday.

Good food made fresh so be prepared for a little longer wait. Another couple called in their order so their food was served shortly after their arrival. My nephew has gone there almost every Thursday for $ 1.00 papusas since 2008! They serve queso blanco and great salsa with the free chips beforehand. This is authentic El Salvadorian food and my entire family eats there often and is rarely ever disappointed.

Fabulous food and fabulous service. The is a small, family run business where care is taken in every meal. We have been there several times, always let our waitress make our selections for us, and have never been disappointed. We will be back early and often.
