White sand room to enjoy without being on top of someone else. Then there is JOHNSON Beach with more of the same.

We visited several different beaches in the Perdido Key area. It wasn’t the summer and it wasn’t a weekend so the beaches weren’t crowded and there was plenty of parking available. The beaches are gorgeous. The sand is like talcum powder and the water beautiful. Rest rooms and outside showers are available at several of the access points. We loved the area, the weather and, of course, the beautiful beaches.

Great beach but no public access. If you are active duty military then you can get a free annual pass. Beach has facilities that second to none and the beach is amazing. Never too busy. Plus parking is adequate. Highly recommend this beach.

Johnson’s Beach at Perdido Key in Pensacola, Fl. By Ed Skirtich Jellyfish bites and hot weather of over 90 degrees didn’t stop beach goers from having a good time at Johnson’s Beach at Perdido Key in Pensacola, Fl. Disappointed swimmers with jellyfish bites under the eyes, arms, and feet of swimmers got healed by the kindness of other sunbathers medicine from the bites. But everyone still had fun in the sun with playing volleyball or sunbathing under multi– colored umbrellas, beach chairs, and beach towels. No one read paperback books, but admired the young kids catching jellyfish and burying them in the sand. Other sunbathers watched people swimming in the beach or kids who had tiny rafts riding the waves. Those who played volleyball were teenagers just having fun on the shore. No one cared about the score. They just hit the ball over the net. Nobody was interested in reading a book on the shore of Johnson’s Beach. But they closely watched the young children catching jellyfish and burying them in the sand. Or they stared at the beauty of Johnson’s Beach blue waters, small waves, and bright yellow sand.

This is an excellent public beach! With easy access to a decently clean bathroom and showers(expect your typical sand and water). The beach is clean and the parking lot is a very easy walk. A couple of things to note– dogs are not allowed and there is not a lifeguard on duty. It’s a great beach for family time. Although it is popular, I’ve never see it so crowded to become annoying.

Perdido had some beautiful beaches. If you are in a condo you will enjoy it. If you are not, STAYAWAY from the public access beach. It is ridiculously small and has a port a potty and no other facilities. Not even a place to rinse the sand off. Instead head to the state park beaches. $ 8 for a car for an entire week and about a half mile away. They have facilities for rinsing sand off, bathrooms, grilling, cover pavilions, and PRIVATESHOWERS. Really nice park!

A part of Florida’s Emerald Coast and the self-proclaimed Redneck Riviera, Perdido Key boasts the soft, sugar white sand and warm, calm, clear blue waters that define this part of the Gulf coast. Simply put, the beaches here are spectacular. Obviously, the sections fronting all the condo buildings will be pretty crowded. But Perdido Key State Park and Johnson Beach(a part of the Florida District of Gulf Islands National Seashore) offer quiet, peaceful stretches of beach for you to explore and commune with nature. Since the key is fairly narrow, the beaches are short but that just means it takes less effort to walk to the water. I know you will love it here as much I as do!

Perhaps the prettiest beach I have ever been on. The sand is white they have sea oats just blowing from the nice ocean air. Seagulls are singing up above. It just makes you relax and go AHHHHHHHHH! I find Perdido Key is a little more chill and doesn’t attract the wild and over abundance of party people like other beaches. There are nice picnic shelters near the parking and boardwalk so you can pack something to eat and stay for awhile.
