I was in the Lake Pepin area on a Tuesday night. I had brought my tent, sleeping bag, and cooler, so I decided to hunker down at an inexpensive campground in town. I did a bit of research, and this was the place. It was the Lake Pepin Inn Motel, Motel/Campground. (Don’t be confused, it’s a Motel/Campground. In this review I am speaking only of the campsites allotted for tents, I have no knowledge of the quality of the actual motel rooms. Though, initially I found numerous 2 star reviews of the rooms on Google, I thought I would try the campgrounds.) I rolled up in my truck and paid $ 16 for a single tent, 2 person spot(and $ 4 for a arm’s full of wood). A nice lady at the main office told me where to find firewood, and where I could situate my tent. The sites for tents are in an open space, like a city park, between more permanent RV and camper sites. My partner and I spent the night out under the stars near a low campfire, it was peaceful and clean. We left in the morning, and were satisfied with our mini-retreat away from the hustle and bustle of the Twin Cities.
