Recently had a facial, and was not overly impressed. I arrived 20 minutes early as recommended, but the receptionist was busy checking people out, so I didn’t get to try out the relaxation room before my service. I understand they were busy, not a big deal. When I was shown to the locker room, the girl was pretty much like«OK, you’re all set. See ya’.» And I was like, «Wait, where do I go? I’ve never been here before?» You would just think that they would explain more for a new client. The facial itself was fine. My only complaint is that the esthetician didn’t remove my eye makeup fully, and did it half way through the service. I thought that makeup removal would be the first step in a facial, but again, I am no expert. I left with black circles under my eyes and I had to remove them(and the fancy eye serum that was applied) when I got home. The icing on the cake was when I was informed that it is their policy to automatically add a 20% gratuity on the service upon checkout. I have no problem tipping 20%, but I don’t think it should be a requirement, or make you feel like you’re a bad person for leaving, say 10−15% for a service that wasn’t spectacular but wasn’t altogether bad. That said, I like to support local businesses, and really wanted to like this spa, but I just can’t warrant dropping that amount of cash for something that was just so-so.

I really enjoyed my massage here and the staff was all rather friendly. They have some great additional amenities: large women’s locker room which featured large lockers, bathrooms and showers. It was nice to be able to take a shower after my massage to wash the oils off before putting my nice work attire back on. The showers had great products to use but all the water was cold so it was short lived. Two things I didn’t really like. 1. their cancellation policy. If you cancel your appointment too close to your appointment time, they still charge you the price of the massage. I understand that they lost the opportunity to make other revenue by canceling but it doesn’t sit well with me. I had a gift card but when I made the appointment, I still had to give them my credit card number in case I canceled– even though I wasn’t going to have to use it. I’m not a fan of having to give my credit card number over the phone, it’s an easy way to get it stolen, but I didn’t really have a choice. Anyways, the other thing that doesn’t sit well with me was that they automatically charge you 20% for a tip. I’m a great tipper and the treatment was wonderful so I would have tipped that much regardless, but I just don’t like being put on the spot. You check-out in the busy lobby and have to agree to the 20% at that time. I just wish they had a little more trust in their clients to not cancel and to tip well. Who knows what has happened in the past with their clients but that is not the norm with other spas in the area. Overall, it was a great massage but like i said, a few things just did not sit well with me!

Worst Customer Service!!! One Star is being generous. I recently called Senara and made an appt for a facial. Prior to my appt date I called back to reschedule and was treated to the worst customer service of my life. Not only could they not find the original appointment I had made but the receptionist, Sarah, was rude, disrespectful, and condescending over the phone. I’ve decided to not only cancel my appt for good and never return to this spa. To Senara Management — make sure your staff treats people with respect.

I recently went to Senara for a spa package. Not a regular spa goer, but I have been to spas in NYC, Vegas and Chicago, and feel the treatment I received here was on par! Great news for little olé Peoria! I indicated on my intake form that I was fairly stressed. The esthetician performed a wonderful, relaxing facial that was extremely effective. She listened to me, gave solid but non aggressive recommendations(I.e. Pushing product in the reception area), and emerged with glowing skin. Had a nice pedicure. The lady did not talk(she was extremely friendly), which I appreciated – if I’m paying for a beauty treatment, I prefer to just enjoy and relax in a rare moment of silence! Customer service and guest relations were fantastic. I felt welcomed when I came in and relaxed when I left.

I made an appointment with Senara because of pain and stiffness in my neck. I asked specifically about a massage, for which I was encouraged to come in. The receptionist told me I could request a massage, and that the Doctor would likely refer me next door the same day. The«Doctor» was over the top friendly, but she made good points about my neck. I told her that I absolutely would like a massage, to which she replied«You will have to check with the desk to see if there is time» To my chagrine, there was no time on their schedule. I came back two days later(still in pain) for the«follow up» with the Doctor and massage. The Doctor was adamant that I needed adjustments, shock therapy, and a $ 50.00 pillow. I opted for another adjustment and massage. Once again, no time on their schedule for a massage. I mentioned then that I would not return, and shockingly, they found time the next day for a massage. The massage was pretty good, but the massage therapist acted as if she was put out by me being there. Post massage, I was sent to the«Doctor» again for a check up. She again tried her best to sell me the $ 2000 treatment package and $ 50 pillow”. When I refused all of the above, the«Doctor» suddenly lost that loving feeling and barely had two words to say to me. I never returned, and never will.

Worst customer service of my life. I wouldn’t let these people touch me. Despite many attempts to civilly communicate with their staff, the folks there continually treated me extremely disrespectfully and would not honor my request to speak with management. There are plenty of other day spas in the area where folks express actual concern about client well-being and satisfaction. Take your time and money to those. To be clear, we did locate the gift card– of a value allowing several spa treatments. I opted to give it to someone else(after forewarning the new recipient of my awful experience), rather than setting foot in this place. I value my time and well-being too much to subject myself to this brand of condescension. Yuck.

I first decided to go to Senara for Chiropractic treatment. I have suffered from debilitating headaches/migraines for 10+ years. I have tried prescription drugs with no relief. Over the counter medication is not effective whatsoever. At my first visit I was given a thorough exam of my spine and muscles in my neck and back. They found major mis-alignment in both my neck and back along with severe muscle tension. Dr. Kramer prescribed chiropractic adjustments, physical therapy and therapeutic massage. Within a few short weeks I was feeling a HUGE difference. I now know this was the cause of my migraines. No more headaches lasting 24 hours or longer!!! FINALLYRELIEF!!! I now get adjustments and massages on a regular basis to keep the headaches at bay and it works! No drugs!!! I can’t say enough about the staff at Senara. Dr. Kramer and Dr. Kurtz are both fantastic as well as the office staff and massage therapists. Senara is also a full service spa that is the best I’ve ever seen! This is a top notch facility… you won’t be disappointed. It is an amazing feeling to be living without wondering when my next headache will put me out of commission. I have the AWESOMESTAFF at Senara to thank!

First class spa and wellness center that rivals similar places in Vegas and Chicago. The doctors here are committed to the health and well being of their clients and take their work seriously. Commitment to care and wellness started from the moment I walked in the door. I have lost weight, reduced headaches, and have worked on personal fitness goals with the help of their staff. This is more than a five star spa– but don’t miss the pampering and calmness that the center and its professional staff has to offer.

I had super high expectations coming into Senara. Their facility is beautiful and can esthetically compete with every luxury spa I have ever entered. However, it was the worst manicure I have ever had in my life at a premium price. My cuticles were untouched, no mitts, no real massage of forearms, poor polishing skills, and a lack of understanding of how to apply a shellac manicure. My daughter’s manicure was so terrible, I asked to have it re-done. The management was very gracious and apologetic and refunded my money for the manicures. I hate to see another business fail in my town, but if they do not improve their services, I cannot imagine they will survive.

This was my first visit to the spa. My appointment was at 1:45 and I arrived at that time and was not early as they suggested. I was very disappointed that I was docked 15 mins. on my massage since I did not come those 15 – 20 minutes early. I have never had this happen to me before when I arrive on the scheduled time at any other spa. It is a beautiful place but did not like the customer service and their policy on this matter. They said they would give me a free hand treatment but then I would have had even less time for my original massage. They also charge you 20% tip on your bill. They did ask me if I wanted to leave the 20% tip which I am not sure is usual or if they knew I was not happy and I declined. To bad since it is a beautiful place. But you have to have Great Customer service first and then the interior design is a plus.
