Best burgers in town. They get their meat from Alwan’s and the burgers are a special blend. Very accommodating to special orders. The black and blue burger has the best selection of cajun spices, pickled onions and blue cheese. I always order a side of pepper jam. Occasionally we order the crab dip with the bow ties for dipping… scrumptious. Great service, friendly bartenders and usually a lively crowd. Highly recommend!

It’s a little small inside, but it is a fun atmosphere! The drinks are delicious especially the lavender martini and the frozen hurricane. I would definitely recommend the chicken po boy!

This place is in Peoria? Seriously these guys are out of this cities league. Food: A Drinks: A+ Bartenders: A+ Easily the best in town. Respectable, knowledgeable, super friendly, but not overly friendly like Ross from Friends. I hate that guy

Manager and bartender, Jon, is a good guy. Great service, excellent food. It is all locally sourced, at least by vendor(Dixon’s seafood, Alwan’s meat, and local bread). Great hurricanes — if you’re into that. And a decent beer selection. I can ride my bike there, so it’s a great place for me and my wife. She loves the gator po’boy. Don’t let the location dissuade you, it is in an apartment building, but once inside you forget about all that.

This was our first time to Po-Boy’s and we really enjoyed. Tyreika(the waitress) did a great job!!! The décor is very nice with the right amount of humor. We split the cheesy ham and potato soup and a shrimp Po-Boy which was perfect for lunch. The soup was really tasty and the sandwich with the Cajun seasoning and loaded was very good! Will be back! Is it New Orleans… getting there and great for a local Peoria establishment

Disappointing. Just OK. All the reviews had me expecting something awesome. The gumbo was not good. The jambalaya was better.

3 words — Get the gumbo! We stopped at this place based on Unilocal reviews and it was a winner. My husband had a shrimp poboy and I had a combo poboy but the gumbo was the best part of our meal. I live in Orlando and have eaten at several types of restaurants that offer New Orleans style food and usually they get one item right(drinks anyone?) I found all our food items were good quality and we had very nice and efficient server. Only thing I would have liked was a happy hour drink or food special. There was a Chicago Blackhawks playoff game on that afternoon and I don’t think they needed a deal to attract a good crowd. This place has cute interior décor and a spacious patio for dining al fresco.

Second time here and just as good as the first visit! Had the shrimp Po Boy with homemade chips & ranch. Clean tasting fried shrimp and fresh bread, delicious! My dining companion orders the Blacksmith pasta and raves about the creamy, flavorful sauce. Both the Ice cold Abita Purple Haze on tap and Strawberry Harvest bottled are perfect compliments to the wonderful food, great service & nice ambiance. Will be coming back!

Excellent Southern establishment with Louisiana fare. Intimate and upscale atmosphere. As per the name, po boys are the main attraction but be sure to try the jambalaya as well. Craft beer selection is nice along with your traditional New Orleans hurricane.

I like it! Went here for lunch with coworkers. Small, but has a nice atmosphere. I think it would be a great place to take a date. The waitress was great… very friendly, and helpful with recommendations. Everyone liked the alligator bites — breaded & deep fried alligator meat with a sweet chili dipping sauce. The Po boys are very large and made with fresh bread. Per waitress comments, I got the pasta with chicken & andouille sausage. The blackened chicken was perfectly cooked — tender, juicy, and a nice lightly charred crust. The sausage was quite tasty and went well with the pasta. The dish had a nice flavor including a little Cajun heat. Overall it was a good dish, but it was very very salty. I would order it again, but only if they would hold back on the salt… It’s great that this place is here now, I can’t wait to take my wife!

What a great experience! This place is definitely in a weird location so hopefully there are plenty of billboards advertising for it. Inside is decorated really cool with the New Orleans theme. I agree with one of the Unilocalers about taking out the gaming machines and adding more seating and having room for a jazz band saturday nights or something like that. My oyster poboy was huge. The oysters were seasoned nicely and were creamy and the crisp lettuce and ripe tomatoes had my mouth watering until the last bite… i didnt want to ever get full. What makes the poboy sandwich though is the bread and this bread was fresh and had a nice crust on it. I also recommend the sliders. They were very good and the meat comes from Alwan & Sons. The little buns were from a local bakery also. Everything was fresh and the homemade fries were spot on. The service is excellent btw… you have to try this place out!

Food quality: 4 Atmosphere: 5 Service: 4 A great addition to Peoria! The outside is a bit deceiving being located in a double decker strip mall but as soon as you walk through the door you will see a well decorated Resturant. Service was great from beginning to end. I had the Shrimp po boy which shouted with Flavor! Have no worries, the menu reads black shrimp which made me hesitate. Turns out that means it’s just a little darker pink and taste fantastic. My wife had the gumbo which she absolutely loved. My son had some great looking chicken wings and he rated them a 9 out of 10 for me using the word«amazing». I suggest giving this peoria gem a try! Family dining: YES, we called Abe they said yes. No kids menu yet but they are working on that and offer you items for kids when you ask.

Went here for an after work meeting. The atmosphere fit the New Orleans theme and we were greeted with Mardi Gras beads. I had the hurricane to drink first, which was a bit too sweet for me. I am more of a craft beer girl in locations like this. The craft beers were great, and they had a great variety of choices. I had the Crab Po Boy and the homemade chips. Johnny was super nice and greeted our table as I was with people who knew him. Our waitress Miranda was phenomenal and was on top of it in terms of service. We didn’t feel rushed sitting there for a few hours. Will definitely go here again and recommend it.

AWESOMEFOOD. Tried the mud bug(crawl fish) Po Boy, Cajun Style(extra spicy) and the Crab Cake Po Boy. Both excellent. The bread is really good, made locally. I liked the mud bug Po Boy better. Had more flavor and was very crispy. Had a side order of the wings, which was also very good. Very moist with good flavor. Drinks were also good. Liked the draft beer options and the cocktails were also good. Had to try the traditional hurricane. Was not disappointed. Was going to give it 5 stars(would go with 4.5 if possible) but I like the previous location better. Place is pretty small. Would love it if they got rid of the gambling machines, expanded, and had some jazz bands. Will definitely be back. Great staff. Cool Marti Gras décor

This little Southern diamond tucked in a neighborhood is my new Cheers! It’s a cozy little corner spot in a strip mall that I’m not sure I knew existed before visiting Po Boys. It’s a New Orleans style with some class and the food is amazing! The drinks menu has signature selections including a hurricane of course and the beers on tap are all craft, no bud or miller to be seen. Most of the food choices we have made have been winners: catfish bites, gator bites, naked wings!, crab cakes, tiger shrimp skewers, gumbo and jambalaya are all winners! One miss was the crab dip gratin, it didn’t seem to have the same type of crab as the cakes do and was covered in a bit too much cheddar cheese. Just add pepper jam to anything you order and you will love it! The service here is outstanding with the bar staff and servers right there when you need them. Plus we have met new fun people here whenever we camp out for awhile which is always better than drinking alone! I’m seriously considering moving to the neighborhood just so I can be within walking distance…

We stopped in for our first time today for lunch. We were greeted by the friendly server and presented with the menu. It was, of course, loaded with Lousiana Po’Boys — crab, oyster, shrimp, sausage, etc. Additionally, the menu offered gumbo and jambalaya. Any item could be served«Cajun-style» — a little spicy. For those that like a hamburger, there is a selection that looks appetizing. The service was friendly, fast and attentive. We were taken care of well and our glasses were never empty of very good ice tea. The decoration of the dining room is low key, almost library like, with a nice fireplace. The decoration doesn’t go Mardi Gras as many New Orleans-style eateries do. I recommend Po’Boys for a pleasant trip to Lousiana without leaving Central Illinois. We’ll be back.
