Carol’s Cleaning Service

After my fulltime job I work a couple nights baking at Historic Grounds Bakery & Coffee Shop in Metamora, IL. The owner of the bakery has Carol’s Cleaning Service come in and do a really thorough cleaning of all our floors. Most of the flooring is original to the building — over 125 years old, and they are solid oak, refinished about 2 years ago. They do a great job on these floors, very thorough.
But what impresses me most about the two people that do the cleaning (I believe they are husband and wife, Mary & Roberto), is what a great job they do in our bakery/​kitchen/​coffee bar area. It’s all cream color tile with pale grout. Plus we have 4 large black rubber slip resistant/​schock absorbing mats over parts of the tile floor. Theses mats leave ugly black marks all over and the grout gets really bad in short order. Our floors take a lot of abuse. The floors have never looked as good as they have since Carol’s staff been cleaning it. They get underneath ALL of our equipment (which is a feat unto itself), take all movable items off the floor, sweep and then wet clean. They do not cut corners in any way I can see. I feel bad when I start to work because I know I will mess them all up again :-). I have seen the results the last few months and last night I worked the night they cleaned and got to meet the Mary & Roberto. They were nice and polite, very quick and efficient. I was impressed. I asked if they do one-​time home cleanings and they do. I gave them my number and I was told the manager would call me the next day. She did. 9:00 am I had a VM on my cell from Jenny. I called her back; she was very nice and is coming out in two days to give me a free estimate. The only reason I am giving 4 out of 5 stars is because I have not had them do my home yet. If you have checked other reviews on line for them that aren’t great, just keep in mind they are under new management now.

Pretty decent prices, the first two cleans are fantastic.
However…
Then the cleaning people get sloppy and do a barely mediocre job.
You pay for an hour, they’re in and out in less than 45 min. Why not, the absolute bare minimum was done. They didn’t change garbage cans upstairs. Even though fresh bags were left out in plain view.
They don’t move furniture, even though it’s on the job list.
I asked them to get behind the couch and chairs. She comes in with a wet mop and kind of gets the stuff at the wall.
My house is maybe at the most 50% better than before they «cleaned».
I’m extremely unhappy, and would never recommend them to anyone.
Well, if you don’t mind a half assed job done on your house, they’re the folks for you.

Very happy with the service provided by Carol’s Cleaning Service. I hired them to clean my rental property. The job was well done and for a reasonable price. I will hire them again.
