Bergner’s

This Bergners is nice, but we recently had an issue with one employee at the make up counter. I do not remember his name, but it’s a feminine young man who wears makeup. Lancôme was running a sale where if you purchased $ 50+ in cosmetics, you received a tote bag for free. My mom bought the cosmetics because of this sale– she wanted to give my sister and I the free bags. She purchased two gift sets and asked if we could ring them up separately in order to get two free bags. The guy at the counter turned from being friendly to rude, saying how that was «bad» because the Lancôme executives will be mad. He then proceeded to tell us how our situation was similar to a woman asking for 4 bags because she bought a $ 200 face cream. The situations are completely different! We bought two separate gift sets… Nothing about that is wrong. If Lancôme wanted to control that, they should have exclusions such as «offer only valid one time per credit card.» He then said «well, it would be easier if you would add a foundation to one of the orders, then I could give you a bag.» All he wanted was for us to spend more money so he would get more in commission. It is no different than us buying a gift set to get a free bag, then two days later coming back in to buy another gift set. If that was the case, I highly doubt he would’ve had a problem! He was extremely rude! There are other Bergners in the Peoria area… we could’ve easily bought one gift set from here and one from Grand Prairie if we we were trying to scam Bergners. My mom ended up buying just two gift sets (separately), but I don’t think we should’ve supported this Bergners location after the hassle at the makeup counter!

This was my first trip into a bergner’s and I really enjoyed it!
They were having a clearance sale like you wouldn’t believe, so I definitely stocked up. I got some great home decorations, clothes and a bathing suit. I kept seeing such amazing stuff as I was walking out :)

The Bergner’s secret is senior discounts on one day each week that can be applied to most sale items.
I’ve been a Bergner’s shopper for many years. Generally speaking if I can’t find what I want at Bergner’s, I can’t find it in Peoria.
