The golf course I would rate 3.5 stars. It is a solid course and a moderate difficulty. It is well maintained as well. The dining is just, as a 2 star review suggest, meh. There are much nicer and better dining options available about a mile away in Peoria Heights. The facilities in general are hit and miss. Many areas smell like aged, wet dog during the summer months. The physical structure is very impressive along with the views. Unfortunately the décor and updates have been subpar. The events are always the same cliques of folks chatting with each other and turning their nose up at the other groups. It is a very interesting eco system. The entertainment value in some of the women well into their 40s scantily clad can be of value for some of the older men as well.

Great service, beautiful views, very good food. We joined after moving to Peoria six months ago and have no complaints so far. We have been members of country clubs in various cities in the U.S. — would definitely recommend CCP to anyone moving to the area.

I went to have dinner on a Tuesday night with my young sister. The staff were all very friendly, and the service was fairly quick. The atmosphere was upscale, but lackluster. I felt out of place as a 22 year old with a kid sister. I suppose it works for the aging Peoria crowd. I ordered a vodka martini before the meal which was well made. The steak I ordered was cooked rare, just the way I asked. However, it seemed a little over seasoned. I had a glass of Syrah with the main meal which worked well. My sister ordered a seasoned chicken dish. Again, it tasted a little bit over seasoned. Both of our salads were well made with fresh greens and creamy dressings. For desert, we split a Crème brûlée. It surprised me that the dessert portion was tiny. The prices were reasonable considering it is a country club. As far as Peoria goes, dining at CCP is 4⁄5 stars. After living in Chicago for 3 years, this dining experience leaves something to be desired.

Located in Peoria Heights, the Country Club of Peoria(CCP) is the oldest members only country club in Peoria as it was chartered before 1900. It is exclusive and members only, The sponsored membership is not inexpensive. Reciprocal privilege is by invitation only, and like a very fine bottle of wine, it is rare. CCP facilities are all upscale, and include private dining room, party room with bar, locker rooms, swimming, 18 hole Non-Equity golf course, fine dining(jacket and tie are required), snack bar, ballroom, private parking, lounge and 24-hour security. It is hidden high in the bluffs in a private court off Grandview Drive. The main dining room offers two magnificent views of the Illinois River Valley. The food and service are excellent. This is the ultimate member’s club, as it is every bit as elegant as any private club in the Midwest including Chicago and Minneapolis.. . There are other country clubs is Peoria and the surrounding area that are less opulent. less formal, and much easier to join.
