It’s a Pensacola institution! Beer is great, the building is super fun, the food is tasty and plentiful(they lessoned the portion size from years ago but they were ridiculously large. The staff is great. Kiss the moose!

Lively, huge independently owned restaurant in Pensacola. The food is good and you get huge portions. Great to bring people who are visiting from out of town. Have spent many birthday dinners here.

Awesome place. Went for a bachelor party and ordered the combo appetizer platter. Great appetizers. Ordered the big daddy burger and left so full I couldn’t move. Only downside is their homade root beer is terrible.

Had a pretty interesting night with the Irish Wake. Definitely eat first if you’re going to order one. And bring home the jar because why not!!! Had the Reuben egg rolls, which were delicious(deliciously bad for you I’m sure, but splurge and get them because they are yum diddly.) I had the big daddy with jalapenos and cheddar and bacon — if you don’t like jalapenos, skip this one. It’s LOADED with em.(Which I love!) The bf got the terrible garbage burger, which as promised, came complete with ice cream and hot fudge. He pulled it off and ate that first, then moved on to the burger. It was quite an experience. The fries the burgers came with were very good as well. Definitely check in on open table or whatever line waiting app they’re on because the wait can get crazy long. Though sometimes you get lucky with a spot at the bar, drinks & free popcorn while you wait, haha.

Best overall restaurant if you’re looking for good and drinks. They have a great variety of burgers, great steaks and one of my favorites is their Shepard’s pie. BTW, they have one in Destin, FL too.

Love this place! I was in the Pensacola area about 3 plus years ago when I found this place! Man am I glad I did! First off the Irish wakes!!! Yum!!! Second the selection of burgers… to die for! I’ve had a number of them and gosh were they all good! Then you have their steaks! They come with this blue cheese tomato that’s a unique garnish! Their wedge salad is perfect paired with a steak because you can take that blue cheese and top your steak with it and it’s just out of this world! The daily specials are good too! Now let’s talk about the atmosphere! The wait staff rocks these cute little Irish outfits! They are the perfect touch! I love it! Then the dollar bills hanging around… pretty cool! The gift shop is great as well! I got my dad a shirt from here last time I was in town and he still rocks it and gets laughs over it. This place is truly a diamond in the rough! Great food, great atmosphere, great prices, amazing drinks, awesome service, in a good location! I love it here and everyone I talk to about it agrees!

Amazing atmosphere and food. Yes, the food is actually really good! The lamb chop lollipops were out of this world! Some of the best lamb I’ve ever eaten. The Ruben egg rolls were extremely good as well. Minus one star for the boillabse(sp). I think some of the muscles were slightly undercooked.

Took my mom and dad here for their last dinner in Pensacola and they weren’t disappointed. We arrived around 5:30 and had to wait about 30 min, but lucked out by finding three seats at the bar next to each other. It was happy hour and my dad was amazed at the quality of cocktails and the price(I was DD-boo). I had the steak and mushroom pie and OHMYGOD! it was fricken delicious. My dad had the shepherds pie and he raved about it…“The best I’ve ever eaten and I spent 18 months in England!“ Mom snacked on what we ordered, thank goodness because we both took boxes home. What else can I say except .18 cent bean soup and honey butter bread –BAM! This is bound to be one of my new favorites since moving to Pensacola!

Been here many times and I have never been disappointed! The atmosphere is simply awesome. Dimly lit with very eclectic decorations, this place is fun for the eyes. If you are on a tight budget however, I might suggest coming in for a lunch special as most of the entrees are above $ 20. If not on a budget then you must spring for the best ribeye in Pensacola.

You know the valet characters from Key & Peele? Yeah, that’s how I feel about McGuires. This place is the SH#############t! I have never been to Pensacola. My husband and I were doing a road trip to Miami and Pensacola was a stop off for the night. After searching Unilocal,we came upon McGuires. From the outside, you can clearly see how huge this place is. I mean it’s HUGE. To me, that can be a red flag for a bad establishment. Going in, the front bar has a bit of a divey look, not that that’s bad, but it can go either way. They had a big menu and there seemed to be a lot of locals around. I mean, from my experience, a very big dive bar in an area where there really aren’t many other bars, with a very extensive menu, and calls itself an Irish pub, well it has never turned out to be a good place. How many times have you gone to a place that claims to be an «Irish pub», but it’s nothing of the sort? Quite a few I’m sure. Well as we sat and spoke with the bartender we began to notice the place wasn’t too bad. Not great, but just ok. Then we learned they brew and serve only their own beer. My husband and I were surprised in a good way. You will not find any Miller or Bud here. I noticed the whiskies, so the bar tender gave me a list of some high quality whiskies(another surprise) they serve. He recommended one for me, and damn was it a winner. As the night went on, every red flag I had in my head was torn down. The shepards pie was homemade and delicious and the live singer was singing some humorous vulgar songs that matched our sense of humor. Then of course there are the bathrooms. If you’re drunk or even a little buzzed, beware, you will walk into the wrong one. Why? Well their bathroom signs are meant to confuse a bit. All for the sake of a good laugh though. I actually found it to be quite charming. The design of the restaurant area is great. Some parts look like they came out of the Harry Potter series. Our first time in a new city and this was the place that made my husband shout«I freaking love Pensacola.» Don’t be fooled, this place is a seriously legit Irish pub with its own unique charm. I enjoyed it so much that I have made McGuires my 100th review. Keep it up McGuires, I’ll be seeing you again one day.

Went to dinner on a Saturday night at 545. 20 minute wait for two people. Beer was brought to us outside while we were waiting $ 5 for 2 beers. Text page was nice because you dont have to stay so close to the greeters. We were seated in the bar area. Had a great waitress that recommended food and drinks. A loaf of bread was brought to the table. It was covered in melted butter with honey. We had the potato balls for an appetizer with two mugs if red ale. I had the prime rib with asparagus. The prime rib is smoked before it is roasted. Great flavoring. We were soo stuffed that we didnt get dessert. We spent about 20 minutes looking in all the rooms and hallways, noting all the famous people that have been there in the past. We also were trying to guess the amount of $ 1 bills hanging from the walls and ceiling.

This place is huge! It has a really weird Irish vibe to it. Very dark atmosphere but it seems like a good time. There is way too much Notre Dame stuff in the place for my liking!

Tons of $ 1 bills and even saw some $ 5 all over the ceiling and walls. Quiet and relaxing causal Irish restaurant. Janice was our waitress. Awesome recommendations!!! Had the ribeye steak, garlic mash potatoes, 18 cent bean soup. Everything was outstanding!!! Only negative was the potato skins. Over cooked and not seasoned. Will definitely come back here!!!

This place is awesome as is the bean soup. And we will be back for shepherds pie or one of the other amazing things on the menu. Four stars are because the corn beef sandwiches were barely warm and dried out like they had been microwaved and not kept in a steamer like we are used to. Thus they did not have a great deal of flavor. So we were disappointed in them. We just moved to the area and were hoping to find a great corn beef sandwich place. That being said the customer service was great and the restaurant something to See. Oh and the rootbeer is really good.

I have been coming to McGuire’s for years. I consider it to be a must stop whenever I am in the area. The restaurant has so much character along with good food that I can’t see how you can pass it up! From the +million dollar bills hanging from the ceilings(it’s really amazing how much money is hanging over your head) to all of the interesting photographs of celebrities and other famous and well known people who have dined here. On my most recent visit it was on a Sunday for lunch and they serve a Sunday brunch menu here. I am not into brunch so instead I ordered off of the regular menu. Unfortunately for me the items that I wanted are not offered for Sunday brunch. I like their shepherds pie and lamb stew. Therefore I chose the pastrami sandwich that comes with potato salad and homemade chips($ 10). To drink I went with a Blody Mary for $ 3. And I always order a bowl of senate bean soup for .18 cents. It’s a tradition here. First to come out was the drink and a complimentary small loaf of black bread with butter. They were both very good. Then the bean soup showed up and as always made me happy(4). About 10 minutes later the entrée arrived. First thing I noticed was that the chips were very warm and therefore fresh. Yummy! The sandwich was generous in size and tasted good. It is a real value for $ 10. The potato salad was good also. I graded the meal as a 4 overall. My table service was very good also. Finally I decided to do something rare for me and order dessert. I had their bread pudding which is a specialty here(4). When I left I was stuffed and already looking forward to my next visit to Pensacola and McGuire’s!!!

Everyone knows this place is awesome and delicious, that’s a given. It’s always packed and once I found a $.79 sticker in my brunch. Craziest thing ever, I truly didn’t care I figured it was from some produce or something, I laughed it off and asked if I could get my meal for that price(joking of course) but they actually comped the whole meal! I thought that was pretty nice. Came here again. Bartender was a badass and super cool, we all even talked about places to dive… the steaks were cooked to ABSOLUTE perfection. Just wanted to update my review. You guys definitely deserve a 10. I mean literally… The steaks were perfect. Nice, big, fat and juicy! Asparagus was super fresh as well. On point guys. Also I forgot the fun fact of the night that I learned from the bartender, apparently the numbers on the bottom of the Tabasco rate the heat or something along those lines? Anyway the conversation was intriguing and maybe if I hadn’t been drinking I’d remember the finer details of the conversation but it was still a neat thing that stuck out about the service. Very accommodating and pleasant!

This is one of the most popular places to grab food/drinks in downtown Pensacola and it’s probably impossible to not come here if you’re in the area for more than a month(like lots of military folks). I went with the steak and mushroom pie which was pretty good, but I probably won’t order it again. In fact, despite many restaurants where a pot pie of sorts is a popular dish, I feel like they’re just not for me. I mean, they have the nice flakiness and the tender/flavorful meat inside, but I’m just never totally satisfied. When I’m back at this well-decorated Irish joint, I’ll be ordering something else. The service was exquisite and the atmosphere is great. I wonder how many dollar bills are on the walls/ceiling – I am guessing maybe around $ 10,000.
