This is a small house with 4 tables. I’m guessing most people order to-go. Tried the crawfish étouffée, gumbo and sausage. They were all some of the best I’ve ever eaten. There were 2 customers eating inside, both eating the crawfish boat. They serve the biggest order of crawfish I’ve ever seen. It looked incredible. I highly recommend Cub’s. I’m one of those people who never give 5 stars unless it’s like one of a kind. I don’t want to «overuse» stars. Anyway, it’s worth the money if you like cajun/creole cooking…

This is the place to go I Pensacola for crawfish. I came here with my family from out of town for our first real crawfish experience. The restaurant may give you the wrong idea from the outside as it is in a little portable building and isn’t all that big. Don’t let that deter you from going in and getting an awesome meal! Once you get past the outside the inside is modestly decorated and gives you the feeling you are in somebody’s house sharing a meal. Given the size of our party, we were able to try multiple baskets(which most everything is served in). We had crawfish, shrimp, crawfish etoufee, jambalaya, gumbo, and red beans and rice. The baskets came with corn on the cob, boiled potatoes, sausage, and mushrooms. The veggies were all very flavorful and the mushrooms were a bit spicier.(Yum!) They normally have snow crab too but they were out by the time we got there. All of the food was perfect and tasted very fresh. They have live crawfish shipped in from the bayous of Louisiana daily. Given that some of us had never had crawfish, the ladies behind the counter gave us a quick lesson in the ways of crawfish eating. They were just very friendly in general and a nice group of folks. I hear that they just opened a new location down by the front gate of NAS Pensacola. I bet they will do a great business over at that location too! We will be back anytime we have a hankering for some crawfish!

I’m sorry I can’t let them get away with this… Excellent Crawfish! They taste fantastic… My family is from Louisiana and these are spot on! However, only one star for STICKERSHOCK! $ 82 dollars for«just» 15 pounds… ABSOLUTEHIGHWAYROBBERY… They would be laughed out of MS and LA for these ridiculous price, I get the fact that they have to ship them«a little farther»… But this is ridiculous,… Go get shrimp instead for MUCH cheaper… Unless you have money to burn… Matter of fact I might open my own place and under cut them severely because they are taking advantage of their customers with a monopoly… Hmmm

This is a cute little LA seafood joint that features excellent LA imported crawfish! I went yesterday & loved it! The hours are tricky as they close daily at 3 pm & the weekend at 6 pm so ENSURE you take that into account. They do a BRISKTAKEOUTBUSINESS! About 5 of the 7 people that came in had called ahead their orders of 2+ lbs or more of steamed spiced crawfish. They were others that actually ordered 2 coolers of live crawfish to boil at their home. That’s pretty cool! Fun way to spend a Friday night or a Saturday by having a crawfish boil! Anyway, the staff are super friendly, courteous & helpful. One gal showed me how to eat crawfish.(I wanted to make sure I was handling them correctly). I ordered the crawfish boat which comes with 1 lb of steamed spiced crawfish, 2 spicy sausages, 1 quarter corn on the cob, & a steamed new potato. It came out lickety split & everything was hot & perfectly seasoned! The corn & potato were cooked perfectly & delicious. The sausage was savory & had a yummy spicy kick. The crawfish was fabulous: Hot, savory & spicy! I also ordered the banana pudding to go & honestly it was the best I have ever had. Light, fluffy, just ripe banana slices & fresh Nilla wafers. YUMMY! I am DEFINITELY coming back! And absolutely ordering a few pounds of steamed spiced crawfish to take back to the Hacienda to share with some friends! HIGHLYRECOMMENDED!

One of the very very few places I would recommend eating in Pensacola. The crawfish boat was amazing, as was the étouffée and gumbo. So glad we stumbled upon this little gem!

This awesome dive is the best place to choose when you have a hankering for some authentic cajun style eats! Not only is it shockingly inexpensive but the food is beyond amazing. The atmosphere is very welcoming and uniquely intriguing with random antiques to pictures of huge gators caught by famous Louisiana swampers! I highly suggest this place to anyone with an appetite for flavor and a taste for authentic Cajun style cuisine!

This place feels like family. I came into the restaurant and was greeted by the owner. We asked about seating and her lovely daughter who was visiting got up and cleared a table for us. She was very kind and conversant and talked to me about the menu and her favorites. The entire place was friendly from the staff to the patrons. And everyone was eating the crawfish. We ordered 3lbs of mud bugs with potatoes, corn and sausage. My wife tried the bisque and my daughter the grilled cheese. I have been to New Orleans and experienced the Marti Gras and Crawdad festivals… this place is the real deal. It is every bit as good as anything I have ever had for a crawfish boil! The spice is there but not overwhelming. Down in the Orange Beach area a lot of places claim to do a lot, but actually reheated frozen. This place has live crawfish brought in daily from Louisiana. The bisque was also very good. Served with rice and butter toast. It was full of meat and just creamy enough. I highly recommend going here for some true Cajun cooking. You will find yourself ordering pound after pound!

I have eaten real Cajun food and this while it was good, tasted like Zaterain’s out of the box. Good to eat there if you don’t feel like cooking. Very small building with small dining area inside. Staff are very nice.

We lived in Louisiana years ago, and were missing our crawfish. I looked up Cubs, on our current visit to Pensacola, and we were NOT disappointed! The prices were great, the crawfish was perfectly seasoned. You know it will be good when the Bayou runs directly out back. There is no frills, just friendly local folk and great food! We sat down to 2 lb of crawfish, 1 lb of sweet gulf shrimp, boiled potatoes, corn on the cob, and cold soda pop! It was an awesome meal. The 3 of us ate til we were full and the bill was $ 37! Finger lick in’ good!

I’ll continue to drive from Gulf Breeze now that I’ve made this my number one spot for seafood. The selections are many, the portions are large and the staff is very polite and attentive. Place needs a revolving door for as many people that come and go. Lots of take outs if you prefer. Give it a try and you’ll be 100% satisfied and will make this your number one spot as well for seafood. GREAUXTIGERS!

Crawfish lovers will adore Cub’s. This is a great little dive and it reminds me of the old days where places like this were everywhere. Money is not wasted on the environment and the staff are very nice. The food portions are large and spiced just right. They even omitted the potatoes and corn for me because they are not foods I can eat. Don’t miss this place. In fact, get in your car and drive there today. It is worth the trip and you can sit outside while you eat and enjoy the weather.

Wonderful place to eat, the ladies were true southern bells and the crawfish, corn, sausage and the sweet tea was cooked perfectly! This place is worth it, if your in Pensacola you have to go! I’m gonna go here as much as I can and sample the whole menu! It’s not fine dining and its get dirty and messy but that’s just how I like it!

I would eat at Cub’s Crawfish all the time if I lived anywhere near here. It is truly worthy of my 5 stars, and I do not hand out fives lightly. Thanks to Unilocal we came to see for ourselves what others love. We drove over from Gulf Breeze and found a small, colorful, but unpretentious roadside establishment we would have driven right past had we not known to look out for it. We entered and were greeted by two very friendly women who asked if we had ever been in before. Once they realized we were new, we were given samples of crawfish, and lessons on how to eat them were offered. We also had samples of red beans and rice and rice and gumbo placed on the table as they poured our tea. Not being from the south, we don’t drink our tea sweet. No judgement, and they kept our cups full. This is a family owned and operated(with love and pride) business. The decision was made to split a crawfish boat and add gumbo and crab legs. The boat has a pound and a half of crawfish, and you can always add by the pound. As we were served, we visited with the women. We were the only two there at first, at an odd between lunch and dinner hour, so the friendly conversation was a bonus. This was the best gumbo I have ever eaten, including my trips to Louisiana. I loved the flavor of my meal. The corn and potatoes were not cooked in the same pot, so they had their own simple but wonderful taste, and the mushrooms were so spicy and delicious, I could eat them every day. The sausage was amazing, the crab was moist and succulent, so glad we had it. The crawfish are almost too beautiful to eat, but am I glad we didn’t stop at just photographing them! Suck the heads!!! The spice is soooooo good! The price is more than reasonable. This is a casual, laid back place to eat delicious food and talk to the locals. It also needs to be listed on every traveler’s must do list. So glad we trusted Unilocal and drove over yesterday. We plan to return today. If I had a review that earned my all time BEST recommendation after all these years on Unilocal, and several years as elite. HEREITIS.

I travel to this area once or twice a year for soccer tournaments and I have been wanting to try Cub’s. My family was reluctant, but I put my foot down today and the whole family was glad I did. Friends joined us so we were a table of 9. We made one of the few tables in this place work for all 9 of us… it was meant for 6. Place your order with the cashier, grab your drinks out of the cooler, and they will bring you your food in no time. $ 9.99 got me a big basket(boat) of crawfish topped with 2 large whole red potatoes, lots of shrooms, ½ piece of corn on the cob, and two skinny links of sausage about 6″ each. Everything tasted as if it was from the same pot… absolutely delicious! It’s definitely Cajun, a little spicy at first, and then it just tastes good… I didn’t want to stop. Two suggestions: suck the heads and get the sweat tea! The sweet tea is the only beverage that is refilled and you will need a few cups of tea to wash it all down. The soda and water are canned/bottled, thus single serving. Everything was so good I ordered some gumbo to go for dinner! The gumbo and buttery garlic bread did not disappoint, either. Our friends also tried the red beans and rice and the jambalaya, both really enjoyed their meal. That said, my friend with the jambalaya wished he had gotten the crawfish. Lots of cool stuff around the store and you can even take a shower! The service was very friendly and fast. They came around with the tea pitcher a few times, talked to the owner, and purchased some of their«secret» low country boil spice. Cons: This is a one and only place and they are only open 3 days a week… that actually makes it more special when you catch it open! A real con: my son’s friend ordered the crab legs and«they hadn’t been delivered, yet.» Still 5 stars! Can’t wait to return”

I stopped by Cub’s Crawfish for a late lunch and it was great. It’s truly a hole in the wall — it’s literally in a trailer — and it’s filled with all kinds of random knick knacks. VERY casual. Only a few tables inside and there’s one table outside, in the gravel lot. I felt like I got a lot of seafood for the price I paid! I got the shrimp boat, which came with steamed shrimp, corn, potatoes, mushrooms and sausage. It was just spicy enough and I was happily full when I left. You order at the counter, sit down to wait, they bring you your food, and go pay back at the counter before you leave.

This is a destination. The place is an eclectic mix of Blue Angels, antiques, and swamp and crawfish kitsch. We had gumbo, Florida style fish dip, shrimp boats(since crawfish were out of season), crawfish etouffe and an extra plate of the toasted bread. Be prepared for a little Creole heat. It was spicy, but not too spicy for my family members who generally aren’t into spicy food. This place had unfabricated character, soul, and great food. The service was as friendly and genuine as one could hope. I would be glad to take anyone there. We all loved it. See the pictures!
