For being on an air base this wasn’t terrible. As others have said, it’s best to go with a cold order. The turkey on croissant was basic, but good. It came with a bag of chips and a pickle for around $ 8. A soup and salad would also be a good option. The food isn’t great, but I wouldn’t be afraid to eat there again. It is convenient to eat on site since there is so much to see there. If you want a nicer meal then definitely stop somewhere before coming to the museum.

Aviation isn’t as interesting to me as it is to my friends I visited the museum with so I after walking through, I settled into the café for coffee, dessert, and another chapter of the book I’m reading. The coffee and bread pudding were alright. Worth the 4.75 for both. However the server wouldn’t respond to me or look me in the eye at all even when I’d smile and wave to her and she’d visit all the tables around me. I walked up to the kitchen and another sweet waitress brought me a second cup for«bottomless coffee» I already purchased and tipped a lot on. I’m really not one to complain too much. You can read all my other reviews. This just didn’t sit well with me. I couldn’t help but wonder if it was related to my complexion… We are at a naval base after all. Who knows what a random server would think/feel. All I know is that this place attracts people from all over the world and I wish they didn’t hire people that would treat their guests this way.

The reason to go to this place is the fact that the bar area was shipped over from the Philippines. In other words, the actual wooden panels from its location overseas are used in the walls here. Where else has a physical bar been moved around the planet? Imagine if you were a sailor during the time the bar existed in the Pacific Islands and now you’re retired getting a drink at the same bar 50 years later. Food is decent(typical American food) and service is great.

The food is not great. Everything is really overpriced and does not taste good. The sandwiches are ok. Our salad had just plain iceberg lettuce and canned fruit on top of it. Chili was not good — hardly any meat inside of it. No good coffee options. Plastic silverware. Very disappointing considering that this is the only dining option for museum visitors.

Good place to eat in the museum. This is a sit down café with waiters. Prices are reasonable for a soup/salad/sandwich joint. Service was good. Got our food in about 5 minutes. We hadn’t planned on eating here but since there was SO much to do at the museum we opted to just eat here versus leave and come back. Very convenient. Nothing special but certainly met our expectations. Would eat here again!

I was really disappointed with my experience there. The reason I’m giving them 2 stars is because it is located in the museum so they gets points for being convenient and affordable. I will start off saying that they didn’t have water! The waitress said something about them flushing the pipes, so I was unable to get any cups of water, I had to get soda or lemonade(at an extra charge). I ordered the steak sandwich and it was mediocre at best. It was bland, but I was hungry enough to eat it. The waitress seemed as if she was in a hurry, she had our tickets out before I even got halfway through our food, and brought out desserts minutes after our food came out, so we had to eat in a hurry, because our desserts had ice cream and it was just tauntingly melting as we at our entrees. Overall wouldn’t recommend it to anyone unless you are looking for something inside the museum and can’t leave for whatever reason.

Pretty lousy place to eat. All the food they have is either cold or microwaved. Everything is pre-made including the chicken sandwich that my wife got(came with a bag of chips), and my salad. No filipino food at all. None. Found a command plaque from my old command and that was kinda cool. I would recommend coming here and looking around but would not eat here again. Service was fine. «Steak» salad, cold chicken sandwich, bag of chips, and 2 styrofoam cups of iced tea came to $ 19.10. **Update** Told the cashier that I was disappointed and she cut the bill down to $ 9.95. Not what I was aiming for but a nice gesture nonetheless. Still leaving my review at 2 stars. I would much rather have paid the full amount for a decent lunch.

Okay. Nothing fancy but good prices for a museum!

The sandwich has 1 slice of turkey breast. Museum is great the food not so much. Eat elsewhere.

Much better food than I expected. Not particularly expensive. And a very attentive waitress. Although it was busy and there was a wait, they use the flashy beeper things and can continue your visit to the museum while you wait. I would not hesitate to eat here on my next visit to the museum. (By the way, I give stars based on expectations for type of restaurant. So a four star sandwich for lunch is based on similar lunches. I am not comparing it to fancier restaurants)

The food and service were better than expected. It’s museum food, not fine dining.

It’s just a little sandwich café inside the museum. We didn’t plan on eating here but since I only drank half of my protein shake earlier that morning I needed some more sustenance to enable me to go on walking thru this friggin plane museum for another 100 hours. The sweet lovely Filipino ladies(I think they were Filipino) were sooooo sweet and the food was yummy and the prices weren’t terribly expensive. I had the Westpac Croissant with ham and cheese and my boyfriend had some sort of steak panini. We also ordered the apple pie a la mode but for dieting reasons we shall act like that never happened. Not sure why this place has bad reviews. It’s a café in a MUSEUM(a museum you didn’t even have to pay to get into), its not Michelin dining. Good food great service. P. S. Hi Chun, great review :-)

The décor is awesome but the food stinks. Go sit at the bar and have a beer but eat your lunch somewhere else.

The menu is very limited. The food is pricey for what they have, basically all sandwiches. I normally like to order things I can’t or don’t want to make myself. I guess you have no choice if you get hungry and your at the museum. Try and eat before you go to avoid this place.

While i realize this is merely a museum café, the buzz surrounding led be to expect much more. The menu was very limited, and while the Cuban sandwich i had was quite good, they have no fryer so you get plain chips instead of french fries. Go for the atmosphere and to sate your hunger, but don’t expect to be wowed.

If you’re spending your whole day at the Naval Aviation Museum, you’re going to have to stop for lunch and any other restaurant is a drive away. Even so, this is a nice little place in the museum with tasty sandwiches, great service and interesting décor. There are Navy & Marine squadron tour/cruise mementos hung all over the place, which makes it seem like a hooch on a distant deployment. Just reminds me of the bar scene in «Top Gun» waiting for Maverick & Goose to belt out«You’ve Lost That Loving Feeling».

Our awesome museum tour guide gave the café a plug, so we stopped by for a quick bite. Modest menu. Chicken salad sandwich(better than the roast beef) and chicken noodle soup combo = $ 7.25… You go for the convenience of «fueling-up» and the piece of history… not the food/service.

Fun little café to eat lunch at while at the museum or while at NASP. The bar is historic and brought over at the end if the war. Good people and decent food.
