As we all know, an experience at a restaurant can sometimes be isolated: a good restaurant can have a bad day and a bad restaurant can have a good day. Based upon my experience at this Cracker Barrel, with Chelsea as my server, I have no doubt that it would ALWAYS be a great experience. Though I arrived only an hour prior to closing, I was greeted with a smile and seated quickly. The hostess took my drink order(to help expedite the process) and brought out my drink before I was greeted(approximately 2 minutes later) by my server, Chelsea. My order was taken quickly and was brought out accurately within about 10 minutes. To say that Chelsea is a «super woman» would be an understatement. In addition to me, she was handling at least three other tables, one of which had at least 10 people sitting at it. I don’t think I ever saw her stop moving — and she constantly had a smile on her face. Further, I(nor anybody else, from what I could ascertain) had any issues, because she was so on top of things. If I ever go back to this location, I will definitely asked to be seated in Chelsea’s section, if she’s working. I’d recommend that you do the same.(Not to say everyone else isn’t great — but the experience was so good, I think it’s worth going out of my way to go with a sure-thing excellent experience.)

As a NYC folk, I’m always excited to try places we don’t have readily available to us. So Cracker Barrel was an easy choice to make as a pit stop on a road trip from NY to VA. Overall highly disappointed. Menu seems somewhat impressive, affordable and nice staff(thanks Janna for your service). But the food itself fell short. I ordered the Ruben sandwich while 5 of my friends ordered a variety of dishes. Mine was actually the only good meal from the table,(I’m sure it’s not hard to make a good Ruben sandwich so of course they didn’t mess mine up). Also enjoyed my sweet mashed potatoes. However, the salad dishes my friends received were very lackluster in appearance and taste(one had a block of cheese not grated in, another received a sad portion of chicken in his salad, and a third one’s lettuce was very wild and unappetizing). The cornbread and biscuits were beyond dry and burnt beyond believe, even the horrible thick tap water couldn’t manage to help you swallow the pieces. I hope this is not a true representation of Cracker Barrel, one that boasts country cuisine that is actually bland in flavor, poor presentation and decent portions. At least it was afforadable.

I love Cracker Barrel, especially when one is driving on the road. There is always one nearby and food is always affordable and reliably good. Not this menu item, I have always have my catfish and veggie, when I saw there is a new Camp Fire Chicken meal, I ordered it to try. The portion of chicken is wrapped in foil with potatoes and veggies. The chicken tasted like boiled chicken, it was very watery. Not good. Of course, everyone is busy and try to get back on the road asap. No excuse to serve tasteless watery chicken though.

I love Cracker Barrel for the same reason I love Waffle House. No matter which one you go to, they are all exactly the same! Cracker Barrel is one of my road trip staples and I love everything from their breakfast food to their meatloaf to their weird tacky gifts and candies in the store area.

Love Cracker Barrel. There’s always good food here. Came here for breakfast and I had the French Toast with raspberry jelly topping. It was good as I expected.

Generally this is a good place for breakfast however the service today was substandard. AUSTIN, S., probably forgot that he works on tips. It was a slow day with very few people in the restaurant. He rushed to take my order and then had someone bring it. I was at a table for one and another single table that arrived after me was well into her breakfast before my food arrived. She actually left before I did too after having a fully cooked breakfast. When my food finally arrived it was just warm, not hot. I informed the waiter and he asked if I wanted him to heat it up again. I’m not into microwaved reheated eggs and could not wait a minute longer, so I declined. Will come back but if Austin is my server I will request another person.

Great food, decent pricing for the amount you get and service is acceptable. There can be a pretty long wait for morning brunch on Sunday’s, but well worth the wait!

This was my worst experience going out to eat ever! First our server Ruth comes over without saying hello, how are you, nothing! Has her pen in hand ready to write & says ok. My daughter proceeds to order milk, then Ruth doesn’t ask her to repeat her self or say she could here her, she just moves on asking my husband what she said. We ordered biscuits along with out breakfast, never got them. My coffee was cold. French toast was just an egg soaked piece of bread. Drinks were not refilled, we had to ask twice. Check was brought out along with food. I would never return to this Cracker Barrel.

I ordered the Fish Fry, and a side of Macaroni & Cheese. My plate consisted of six small, over-cooked catfish nuggets and a spoonful of Mac-N-Cheese. All of which was barely lukewarm. I am not a big eater but my plate appeared to be child-sized and I didn’t receive my fries. My sister ordered Chicken Fried Steak with brown gravy. It arrived with white. By the time the waiter returned with her food we were finished with ours. I never received the glass of water I asked for, never received any bread, and waited a really long time for a soda refill.

Good, quick, inexpensive and tasty! What more could you ask for! Was there at an off hour waiting for bridge road construction and traffic to clear up. Went in and got a table right away. Waitress came and took both drink and food order. Was trying to make this a quick stop. Food arrived within ten minutes and I could tell that traffic had cleared. Usually I get breakfast at Cracker Barrel, but today decided on the grilled pork chops with sweet potato and veggies. It was quite tasty and satisfied my late lunch meal. Had ice tea to drink which was refilled regularly. Cracker Barrel restaurants are usually very good, though at a prime meal hour they are usually very crowded. Excellent service and got me on the road quickly. Highly recommend!

I finally decided to give this Cracker Barrel another try just about two and a half years after my last unfortunate experience. I don’t know what I was thinking. We headed in around 5 pm, so the restaurant portion was just starting to fill. Sat down, took a quick look at the menu, and decided to give my classic-favorite dish a second chance. AKA: I ordered the exact meal listed in my 2013 review: the fried chicken tenderloin country plate with sides of mac and cheese and a house salad. I made sure when placing my order to request a side dish for my mac. I even explained to the server that the last time I visited, the mac overwhelmed the chicken and I’d prefer to eat them separately. I’m not sure he was listening to me. He had seemed agitated from the second we sat down — and elevated to plain frustrated once we asked for new silverware because our sets still had specks of food attached to them. He snatched the silverware off the table, which I thought wasn’t very nice. But then the food started coming out. Salad first(which was fine) but the biscuits didn’t come until entrée time, which was surprising. But, of course, when my plate arrived(carried by another server) the chicken was hanging out right next to the mac. I again explained how I had earlier put in my order, and he defended our server. Cool. Thanks for the apology. So then I waited for my new dish. Only took a few minutes, which always freaks me out, but our original server brought it out. I looked at him, he looked at me, and he walked away without a word. He couldn’t have looked more annoyed if he tried. At this point, instead of continuing on with a server who clearly couldn’t stand us, I got up and walked to the host stand. I asked her if she could have the manager come to our table. She asked me for my table number, because apparently I should know the layout of the restaurant. I told her the general direction and then walked back. Important aside: Not only do I *hate* sending food back, but I also don’t think I’ve ever asked for a manager before today. A super nice manager then came over and I explained how our server had been treating us from the get-go. He apologized(alas! someone! common courtesy!) and said he’d put a new server on our table. Aaand the new server couldn’t have looked more uncomfortable. He clearly wanted nothing to do with our problem table — never asking to take away my salad dish nor thinking of refills even when my glass was empty in front of him. I asked myself. He put the check down(no discount for the bad experience) without asking about boxes or desserts, so woo-hoo, go second server too. So. Basically. My point here is that I’ll very likely never step foot back in that Cracker Barrel. Here’s to the fond childhood memories, but I’m now happy avoiding this particular location. Something about the whole«fool me once» thing.

Good food and good service. The only problem is when it gets too busy and they are not staffed enough. I love their food. Especially their hash brown, broccoli casserole, Lima beans, Mac and cheese, meat loaf broccoli cheddar chicken, mashed potatoes, and the list goes on.

If I could give this restaurant 0 stars, I most certainly would. The waitress Jamie was awesome and her attitude was great. The food that was served was suppose to be adult size portion but came out looking like a child’s plate. When I asked about the serving size I was told it was correct. Jamie came out and saw the plate and stated it was on the small size. I then asked for my check for the two sides and lemonade I drank and the total was $ 8.63. I couldn’t believe what I saw, Jamie went and found a manager to see about adjusting the ticket. The manager came with a different check in her hand and charged me for a child’s plate.

As a cracker barrel connoisseur I am never disappointed with the food. And every time I come here I usually order the same thing. My faves are the meatloaf with mac n cheese, greens, and mashed potatoes with gravy, or uncle hershals breakfast. Will def continue to support this chain. Love it!

I visit this restaurant wait was 25 min wait. Once seated I waited another 15 minutes before my waiter attend to me. I had to request a waiter… smh. the waiter came and apologize stating that he didn’t see me sitting at the table, even though he stood to the customers next to my table and took their order. He then proceed to take another customer order and brought out their drinks right away and ing still waiting for my tea. I’m extremely disappointed with the services I received today. I Erik nit be visiting this location no time I the near future.

My parents and I came to Cracker Barrel on Friday for lunch. There was no wait for a table. The food was delicious but the service was slow. For drinks, we ordered iced water’s and Stewart’s Orange Cream Soda. The waitress brought us complimentary cornbread and biscuits. My dad ordered a plain grilled catfish with two orders of string beans. My mom ordered the lemon pepper rainbow trout with an order of sweet whole baby carrots, string beans, and a cup of chicken noodle soup. I ordered house country salad with grilled chicken and honey mustard dressing and a cup of chicken noodle soup. It was certainly a great value. The salad consisted of fresh romaine lettuce, spinach, cucumbers, grape tomatoes, shredded cheddar cheese, bacon bits, and homemade croutons. The cup of chicken noodle soup consisted of chicken, noodles, carrots, and celery cooked in a chicken broth. It was topped with three homemade croutons!

No matter where you roadtrip in this far ranging country, you’ll most likely find a Cracker Barrel Old Country Store by the exit off the interstate. Just look for their bright yellow sign on top of the 100′ green steel column that you can see for miles. This restaurant is at the foot of the Delaware Memorial Bridge as you enter New Jersey, before you even get to the toll booths of the NJ Turnpike. Consistency is their game. All the Barrels we’ve visted are painted the same green color, have the rocking chairs on the porch, the general store as you enter and satisfying southern styled comfort food at great prices. Even McDonald’s isn’t as cookie cutter perfect as the Cracker Barrel. Where else are you going to get a complete catfish dinner with a choice of 3 sides, cornbread & biscuits for $ 9.99? There are lots of down home favorites on the menu like meatloaf and chicken & dumplings. Breakfast is served all day too, so try the awesome pecan pancakes if you get a chance.
