Chiaro’s Pizza & Restaurant

They make very good cheese steaks but the pizza is sub par.

TAKEOUT only do not eat-​in, terrible ambiance and rude wait staff. All employees are family and they couldn’t be more miserable. If you hate your job, quit. But the cheesesteaks are good, very Philly like. I have never tried anything else so I don’t know. With the attitude they give customers and all the competition in that area, I’m amazed they are still in business. Avoid if you can, go to Toscos like everyone else.

Ya know what I’m sick and tired of, restaurants that don’t seem to give a crap about pissing off customers, even regulars that they know.
I’ve been coming here for years with no problems. Then last night we ordered some cheese steaks and fries. They told me 15 minutes for pickup but I gave them 25 minutes. When I got there I told the girl that always works the counter what I was there to pick up. She was frantically slapping some new meat on the grill and chopping it up. She said, «I’ll be with you in a few minutes bud.»
Meanwhile another customer came in and got a whole bunch of cheese steaks and pizza. After that customer left there was a bag with 1 cheese steak and fries in it on the counter. I realized now that either one of my cheese steaks had just been given to the other customer or they forgot to make one of my two cheese steaks. The mother that works the place came up and asked to help me. I started to tell her what I was there for, thinking that maybe she’d want to ring me up, and the younger girl (pretty sure her daughter) interrupts me and says in a pissed off tone «I said I’d be with you in a few minutes bud.»
After waiting a few more minutes the cheese steak was finished and guess what, the mother rang me up after all, only she overcharged me for both cheese steaks. I was about to walk out when I asked the daughter for a menu and questioned her about the cheese steak prices being higher. She curtly responded to me that they had raised their prices and even though that was indeed the case they had STILL overcharged me $ 1 for both cheese steaks compared to the new menu. To top it all off the plastic lid of the french fry container was totally crushed in and the fries were barely warm.
I just have no tolerance for this stuff anymore; rude behavior from employees, overcharging, lack of concern for the customer. When someone doesn’t care and you’re just $$$ to them, it’s pretty obvious. I’ve worked at 3 restaurants in my life and you should ALWAYS treat the customer with respect and not play games with them, even if they’re a jerk.
So long Chiaro’s, I’ll be giving my business to Toscos or other area pizza shops from now on thank you very much.
