By far, my best B&B experience ever, and I am not typically a fan of B&Bs. What did it for me? Cleanliness. The rooms we stayed in(Makintosh Room and The East Room) were in PRISTINE condition, not to mention beautifully decorated. Honestly, I don’t think I’ve stayed in any accommodation that felt this clean. Breakfast :) Laurel is a wonderful cook, and she and Llewellyn go to great lengths with their presentation and service of breakfast. This B&B is definitely fit for foodies. Location. La Belle Vie is a hop, skip and jump from downtown Penn Yan. Walk a block or two, and you’re downtown. It’s not a huge or particularly jumping downtown, but the architecture and history is sweet and it’s nice to be able to walk somewhere, particularly when we spent much of our weekend driving around Keuka and Seneca Lakes to visit wineries. One thing to note about The East Room: It does not have it’s own bathroom, and for that reason is available as a companion to the other rooms. I(wrongly) assumed that The East Room adjoined to the bathroom in the other room, like a suite or Jack-and-Jill type set up. It’s an entirely separate room from the other rooms, and you’ll need to access the bathroom to the companion room from the hall. This wasn’t a big deal to me, but I thought it worth pointing out.

Absolutely adorable and comfortable B&B! This was the first of three places that we stayed and it was by far the best. The breakfast was literally one of the best I’ve ever had, with the most delicious cantaloupe followed by lemon ricotta pancakes and scrambled eggs with local sharp cheddar and spinach. The room we had was carefully decorated with period pieces and the bathroom and amenities were top notch quality. The bed was very comfortable and we even had a private balcony for lounging away the afternoon with a glass of wine. With such amiable hosts, we couldn’t really ask for more. Will definitely be coming back!

This is an absolutely beautiful B&B with some of the best breakfast I had ever had! The mansion has exquisitely beautiful details to it… from the woodwork, to the ornate ceilings and moldings, to the period décor, I was really impressed! As for breakfast, each morning we were just blown away by how good it was! For example, we were served 3 courses including fresh berries in Greek yogurt, lemon ricotta pancakes with a side of bacon AND eggs scrambled with baby spinach and cheddar, and freshly baked scones. The owners are super nice people and you could tell that they have put their all into making this B&B a special place. I loved the beautiful touches to my room, such as plush towels, nice linens, and a seriously comfy bed. As with just about every good B&B I have ever stayed at,(upon first arriving after my travels) checking into my room without feeling obligated to engage in prolonged chit chat with the owner(s) seemed impossible… I think this just goes with the territory of choosing a B&B over a hotel and it was a minute price to pay for such an awesome experience at a truly beautiful and hospitable place. I would most definitely return and would surely recommend this place to a friend.

La Belle Vie is a beautiful B&B on the Keuka Lake wine trail in Penn Yan, NY. We had a wonderful time there– the breakfast is amazing, the house is gorgeous, and the hosts are warm and welcoming. Here are some of the highlights: — The house is a charming Italianate Victorian that has been carefully renovated and decorated with antiques and period pieces. It is bursting with character. — The rooms have new mattresses that are super comfortable. — The bathrooms have been renovated with modern amenities, such as on-demand hot water. — Free wi-fi — Wine fridge in each room, stocked with chilled water — Breakfast! I loved the food. My favorite was the lemon ricotta pancakes. They also put out freshly baked cookies and brownies at night. — The owners are incredibly nice and very helpful. They give great recommendations for activities and dining in the area. — Located on Keuka Lake, about a 30 – 40 minute drive to Watkins Glen and Seneca Lake. I found this place on Trip Advisor, where the community has given rave reviews. Check it out if you want to read more reviews:
