Another great winery on the trail. I have been here at least 5 times in the past… more like 10 but who’s counting when you are doing wine tastings…

Full service winery in the fact that they had good wine, food, vineyard tours, gift shop w/non-wine related locally crafted products, outside and inside seating, etc. The staff was at first acting very fast paced, I suppose because of the crowd, but later on took time to speak with us on more of an individual basis about the wines involved in the tastings. We purchased a few bottles — Liked them on Facebook for a discount — and bought other local gifts for family. Overall great time!

Would definitely visit this again … girl was real friendly and fun. very laid back and not stuffy or stuck up! They had really good choices in wines … you pick what type of flight you want sweet or dry … she also started us off with a tasting of her choice than did our flights and ended it with another surprise tasting that we wanted.

Not a great experience. Poor customer service. I had wanted to try one more and the guy we had completely ignored our party and kind of forgot the fact we were at the end of the counter plenty of people there but we got ignored the only reason I gave 2 stars is because there was at least one good wine but they need better service I only wanted to try one more

A great place to taste NYS Wines! We spent approximately 2 hours at Fox Run! Enjoyed the flights of wine as well as having lunch there. Garlic pizza with salad drizzled with a Riesling dressing. The Merlot was $ 24.00. A bit pricey, but was a favorite of ours! The views are beautiful around the winery. A great time at Fox Run!

Third stop of the day was a real wonderful stop. The winery was really beautiful place with a lot to take in. We were given 7 tastings more that most wineries with a choice of a sweet or dry flight. We chose the sweet flight and it started a winery picked wine and the 7th choice was our choice. We also bought some cheese and crackers to munch on. They did have an on-site restaurant that was closing as we got there so we just got a little something from there cheese selection. They had a beautiful view of Seneca lake of you were to eat there. Will have to come back for lunch and of course more wine!##

Awful, awful service. What a huge disappointment. The young man who was pouring our tastings left before we finished our flight, to tend to other customers, and countless staff members walked passed as we both stood there for some time with no one offering to help us. We had to ask to finish our flight. Will never return.

This was a great wine tasting experience not just because of the tasty wine(particularly the dry Riesling and Cabernet franc) but the staff/service is so awesome! They all were super sweet to my dog too. Nice big tasting room.

Love this place! Friendly and good service! Wines are fantastic! Especially the dry reisling, the red blend(lemberger and Cabernet franc) and Cabernet Sauvignon. Lively atmosphere. $ 5 for the tasting, but you get $ 2 off if you buy a bottle and another $ 3 for checking into Facebook. 10% off if you buy at least 6 bottles! Would definitely recommend this place!

Fox run has been a longtime veteran on the Seneca lake wine scene. Many have come and gone and fox run has stood the test of time. The wines here are solid and always have been consistent over the years, they offer a great variety but you sweet wine drinkers are limited to your options. The wines are good in flavor and are a favorite amongst many who venture down the lake. This has and will remain a normal stop on our wine list.

Absolutely love this place. Fox Run has lovely wines, knowledgeable and friendly staff, a great café(with my new favorite cheese platter, it’s amazing), vineyard tours(which I can’t speak for, but so glad they offer it), and an outdoor terrace! Their flights are $ 5 and they organize the flights into two categories(one being sweeter and the other drier) and you get a complimentary«welcome» tasting as well as as wine of your choosing to top it off! My favorite was the Ruby Vixen, which I actually ended up getting a glass of for lunch! They also have good Semi-dry Rieslings and my boyfriend really enjoyed the 2013 Cabernet Franc/Lemberger If I could go back to have lunch at Fox Run I would do it over and over again. The Cheese Platter(1) is literally the best cheese platter, which I will attach a photo of — because how can you not. The cheeses were delicious, and it came with meats, grapes and soft chewy slices of bread! It’s great to share between two people! The lovely couple we met ordered pizza, which I hear was delicious too. Lastly, we had the marinated steak on a roll… highly recommended. It’s literally delectable meat on a roll. straight up meat. tender. so. good. I. cannot. It’s not one of the members of the«weekday pass» BUT I highly recommend you visit this wonderful winery, its completely worthwhile and it’s definitely on top in my book!

I’ve been to Fox Run Vineyards 3 times so far and have had a wonderful visit each time. This is definitely one of the higher quality wineries on the Seneca Lake wine trail, consistently churning out good quality Finger Lakes Rieslings, Cab Francs and Gewurtztraminers. Tastings here are $ 5 and does come with a coupon if you make a purchase. There is a lovely café attached, with an outdoor terrace looking out on Seneca Lake. I have never stopped here for food, so I can’t speak about that but I have heard they use very high quality local ingredients and that the local cheeses are excellent. They also are one of the trio partnerships that create the Tierce Riesling series — which I tried when I was at Red Newt. Three top FLX wineries(Fox Run, Anthony Road and Red Newt) each provide 1⁄3 Riesling grapes from their vineyard sites to create a distinct Seneca Lake Riesling blend. Do not miss this in the tasting room! One of the things I like most about Fox Run is the professionalism and friendliness of the place. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a very welcoming tasting room with a relaxed vibe, but it’s great to see Fox Run taking Finger Lakes wines to the next step. They have events all over NY state and beyond, bringing Finger Lakes wines to a greater audience. At their winery, they offer tours of the vineyard and a whole host of other events. Don’t miss Fox Run!

Come here and do some wine tasting while shopping for all kinds of terrific wine products. Wine tasting was great and we learned a lot about their wines with the servers taking their time to tell us about each one. They made some good suggestions too. Check out their marketplace for cheese products, sandwiches, flat bread pizzas, and assorted foods. It’s one of the larger wineries along the Seneca Lake wine trail On a sunny day be a baller and score a wine and cheese board while sitting on the patio overlooking beautiful views of Seneca Lake. It’s romance time. $ 18 for kick ass board of NY state cheeses, meats, fruits, breads, and nuts all paired with a flight of Fox Run wines. Take a few bottles of tasty wines home for sexy time. Like a boss.

Excellent! Love the v-neck tshirt. We came a second time to pick up a small cheese cutting board. Very lovely, nice little café overlooking the vineyards and the lake. We came for the annual garlic festival and that is a must! Every kind of garlic you never knew existed. There was blue grass music and fabulous food! The white flat bread pizza with green peppers and goat cheese was fabulous. We had one and went back for another. The garlic and mushrooms were spicy and delicious. All were drinking wines and most had bottles open! Perfect small festival. The wines are dry to sweet but there was a great selection of dry whites that I loved.

Fox Run Vineyards is one of the top wineries on Seneca Lake. They offer multiple tasting rooms with gorgeous views as well as a small café. The staff is knowledgeable, professional and friendly. More importantly, their wine is outstanding, as noted by their many international awards. Fox Run is a «must stop» on any wine tour of Seneca Lake.

I, in fact, am a huge fan of this winery — it’s one of my faves on Seneca Lake. It’s a luxury that we have our own«wine country» so close to our city. I personally should take more trips. It even makes sense in the winter, maybe even more sense since it’s not as crowded this time of year. Yes, our region produces a lot of sweet wines, but there are a few wineries, Fox Run included, that offers a well-balanced array of dry wines. A few highlights from my tasting — $ 5 for ~6 samples. Dry or a sweet flight, I opted for dry, but you can mix and match: — 2010 Reserve Chardonnay — slightly oaky, but manageable for my palette. — 2012 Chardonnay — great everyday wine. Stainless steel barreled so it doesn’t have that oak/butter flavor(others may prefer that flavor, just not for me). — Gewürztraminer — floral and well-balanced. If it was less sweet, I’d love it. — Pinot noir — dry, but subtle flavor. Great for an everyday wine or something to sip on.(I bought a bottle). — Cab franc/Lemberger blend — another good option for me. I liked that it was blended with the Cab franc to balance out the dryness of the Lemberger. — Lemberger — super dry, thirst quenching almost. Surprising for FLX. A few special tastings we got to try: — Riesling 10 — hints of lemon, white floral. My top pick of the three. — Riesling 11 — Produced by spontaneous fermentation, they just let the wine do its thing. It’s sweet, peachy almost, but fades quickly. I could handle it. — Riesling 12 — smells like cheese, but of course doesn’t taste like it. It’s the most subtle of the three, less sweet than the others. The tasting room is large, open and smells brand new. They also have a small café for some nibbles. It opens back up in April. The winterscape overlooking the lake was breathtaking. It’s a worthwhile trek for a one-day vacation that’s for sure.

This was one of the bigger wineries that we visited while on a wine tour, but it was still very nice. The staff were very knowledgable and were very helpful with recommendations. The place was very busy(and we went in the off-season) and I can see how the winery could get kind of crazy inside. However, their wines are definitely good enough to warrant a visit and maybe pick up a bottle or two!

Just OK for me. Fox Run is one of the larger wineries on Seneca Lake, and it feels that way. The café/marketplace has some very tasty cheese and nibbles(in particular the sauteed mushroom/eggplants side). Service was OK. Otherwise, the wines were just OK for me(nice Lamberger, though, which they make in spades here). The girls in the tasting room were knowledgeable but the experience was pretty impersonal. Fox Run feels more Napa than Finger Lakes. Still, a nice stop on the west side.

This was probably the busiest place we stopped at, yet not as large as some of the others, they had to pack ‘em in! We tried to squoosh ourselves into the main tasting area but with so many people sipping and savoring, we were in for a long wait. Thankfully, a worker noticed that we were waiting, and probably such a large group, that she motioned for us to come to a backroom for a tasting. I felt special! Well, until I realized we we went into a smaller tasting room with lots of people squooshed in there as well. Good thing was, there was a small area for about 4 people that we packed 8 into. Momma needs her wine! We were able to taste 6 wines for $ 2. BUT, they offered a free tasting if you checked-in on Facebook. We had checked in on Unilocal,so we convinced them to give it to us as well… the power of Unilocal lives on! I finally enjoyed a wine enough to purchase it! This actually only happened at one other winery. I ended up buying the 2008 Cabernet Franc/Lemberger. It’s no surprise because it tasted of raspberries, blackberry, plum and my favorite wine accent, black pepper. Just a note: Not a lot of wineries actually have a café where you can sit down and eat. After a long day of sipping, I’d definitely suggest stopping here for a lunch or dinner break. We didn’t eat here, but the café was on the larger side and the food looked good, especially the flat breads!
