I have read a lot of the reviews and they all talk about slow service. we had a VERY different experience. my husband, toddler son. and I went to eat there on Friday evening around 6pm. they were very busy — every table was taken, and we got our food within 10 – 15 minutes. we ordered a cheeseburger, sweet potato fries, beer, chicken tenders and fries, and the California salad. everything was delicious. excellent food, excellent service. we will go back!

The customer service is so so depending on who is working but chances are it won’t be good. The food is just ok nothing to right home about. I do like the bar area.

The pizza was very good but the service was very slow. Restaurant was empty and the service was very slow but I like the food and I would go back.

Good food, iffy service. When the owner’s daughter is there, it’s better. Always busy. I like the Popeye pizza with a Newboise :-)

A few months back my husband and I ordered a pizza. After a few bites I bit into some glass, cutting up my mouth and throat. We were extremely understanding and didn’t make that big of a fuss over it, but we went home because I could feel some of it in my throat and I wanted to get it out(I’ll spare you the details). The staff took away the pizza and said they would put my name on a list for a free pizza the next time we came in. So I came back about two weeks later… my name was on no list. The wait staff remembered me and said, «They would take care of it.» So then my pizza came out with a bill. They had taken a whooping 15% off. At least follow through with what you said you were going to do. And thanks for the $ 2.50 dollar discount for having my mouth cut up and having to go home and pull glass out of my throat… I really appreciate it. Blah.

Worst food ever can’t say it was worth 1 star. Made me sick for a couple days. The eggs were runny. The atmosphere was horribly arranged with dust everywhere. I was meeting a friend there or else I wouldn’t have even walked in.

In starting this review I wanted to do one star but the Tuesday/Thursday Mexican Menu surprised me. I’ve been coming to this location in its different incarnations over the last 25 years and this place a couple times a year for the last 10 years. Service is hit or miss. Always has been. Always will be. Food is mediocre and over priced and that won’t change. Penn Valley is Penn Valley. As I mentioned at the beginning the special menu was a bonus. For all the things that are wrong with this place the special menu actually is good. Don’t come here looking for fine dining. Come here for warm beer and mediocre food. It’s one of three choices in the area. If you want good food keep on driving. If you want an interesting experience stop in.

Been here about 6 times in past 4 months. same thing everytime. Suuuuuuuuper slow. not sure if understaffed or whats going on. waitresses appear to be busy walking fast. don’t be surprised to wait 30 minutes before they bring you a menu or ask u what you’ld like to drink. and if u stop them to get their attention to notify them that you’re ready, they’ll brush u off several times and still make you wait 30minutes. Overall, overpriced, not hearty portions. Extremely inconsistent. Order the draft rootbeer and sometimes they charge you full price(2.50) for a refill. sometimes they dont and its free refills. Totally confusing. Guess it depends on who u get. I want to like this place. not a whole lot of options. I highly suggest chinese restaurant across parking lot.

Some good sandwiches, pretty good pizza. But so much of the menu seems to rely on frozen food, and honestly, if I’m going to have reheated frozen food, I may as well stay home. I still go here occasionally, but I just can’t give a glowing review. One high note is a tri-tip salad with a yummy cilantro dressing — my go-to, even if the greens come out of a bag.

I attempted to eat here tonight with the hubby. Since I have a shellfish allergy, I make it a habit of notifying any restaurant that I eat at so they use extra caution and avoid cross contamination. So, as always, I notify my server, who was really sweet, about the allergy and place our order. A few minutes later she returns to our table and apologetically says that the owner wants me to sign a waiver that says that I will not hold the restaurant responsible for any potential cross contamination. Hmmmm… excuse me? I was shocked! Never in my life have I ever been asked to do this. He had a note handwritten on the back of an order ticket for me to sign. We walked out. I was appalled by his request. Meat cross contamination is easily avoided using BASIC cleaning practices. We will not be returning. For some reason, this particular Northridge restaurant is just horrible. The owner has burned so many bridges. The Nevada City Northridge is amazing and is literally like a completely different restaurant altogether. This was our last visit ever to this place. Do yourself a favor and go to Tack Room or even Taco Bell for a meal instead. the Northridge needs a new owner who possesses a brain.

Sloooooowwwww service. It took 30 minutes for them to get a to-go order for a hamburger out the door. I saw the cook drinking from a beverage container and then return to cooking without washing her hands(which is against health dept. protocol). Go here if you have time to hang out and drink a few… and if you don’t mind the possible violations that could be happening to your food.

I took my wife to Northridge for dinner the other night. She ordered pastrami sandwich and asked for a small amount of sauerkraut on it. We also ordered a salad rather than fries. The salads did not come with the pastrami my wife ordered nor my sandwich. I had to ask 3 times for the salads. When my wife stared to eat her pastrami sandwich she found no sauerkraut at all. She asked for some on the side and it never came. Service sucks! Cooks can’t read ticket and don’t get orders right! The owner needs to train servers better and probably add another server. Also they should have someone stationed at the front desk so when trying to pay the bill, the customer does not have a 10 minute wait to check out. Time to go to Players or the Pleasant Valley Grill. Both have far better service!

What a terrible experience we just had. Ordered dinner and waited over an hour for the first of our food to arrive. They kept telling us a cook had gone home sick. My cold soggy pizza arrived first, then 20 minutes later the kids chicken strips arrived. Then another 40 minutes passed before my husband’s salad was served. The waiter announced he would take 15 percent off for the lateness. When we went to pay they took 15 percent off the salad only. Yea, $ 1.80 off the bill. Some tables received 25 per cent off while others received 30 percent off their whole bill. The inconsistencies sucked. Very bad form Northridge. To think we used to like coming here for a nice little dinner.

This was my first time eating here at Northridge Restaurant and my last. Every year Nevada County has an Annual Toy Run and afterwards the group finds somewhere to eat. We decided to eat here. I ordered my favorite Half Rack Pork Ribs, «So tender the meat falls off the bone» they say! NOTTURE! My ribs were chewy and I had to rip the meat off the bone, by the second bite I was done. I will not return here and will not recommend them to anyone. The prices were pretty high for what they served.

The owner of this place needs to sell it and find another career! This place is a joke! Thought I would give it another chance and that was a mistake. The service is a joke and the owner seems like he has been drinking all night and is really rude to his staff. I will never go there again! Please do us a favor«SELLTHISTOSOMEONEWHOCARESABOUTGOODFOODANDSERVICE» and that doesn’t just want a place to hangout and get drunk! Good luck if you decide to eat here!

I ordered a burger here last week. I was sick for two days and missed work. Literally it was coming out of both ends. I almost went to the hospital I was so sick. I WILL never eat here again. I don’t know if it was the meat or cleanliness but I got violently I’ll. STAYAWAY.

the owner needs to go back to driving or serving at a TACOTRUCK. His ignorance and the way he treats his employees is disgraceful. The food is DOGDISH territory. The service is poor because of the POORMANAGEMENT I.M.O. Too many atrocities to list, including the POORFOODQUALITY. Ignorance is bliss… If this place turns a monthly profit, I should open up something out of my garage and put this joker out of business

I eat here with my family about once a month when we are too tired to deal with making dinner at home. We only go here because it is literally the only place in town. It is a family joke now to predict how long dinner for four will take, how bad the food will be, and who’s order they will completely forget all together or completely screw up and even bring the wrong meal, then realize it and deliver it to a near by table after it’s been touched, picked at, or partially eaten. Not sure who has more fun at this point, us trying to predict how ridiculous the experience will be, or them predicting how many of us will be sick by morning. I give zero stars for food and dining experience and 1 star for family entertainment value because we’ve made such a joke out of it. Patrons be ‘ware…

This restaurant used to be our favorite, but within the last few months the service has gone down, you sit for awhile with menus down before anyone asks if you want water, they look away when they walk by. We went today same thing, not super busy, we sat with our menus down, we didn’t know who our waitress was but one would walk by and not even look at us and finally a waitress came over took our order, mine was a cheese burger DRY and sweet potato fries, my husband had aBLT, mine came with mayo and burned fries she told me the cook said he couldn’t get the middle cooked and if it wasn’t good let her know ! I had to get her a few min later to tell her not ok, they even smelled burned! BLT was not on wheat like asked but also greasy, how do you mess up aBlt? Anyway were not going back
