The best food in Penfield! I love their Shrimp Phat Thai and their crispy spring rolls are amazing! They have healthy options and many gluten free and vegetarian options, so it is perfect for people with special dietary needs. The staff members are so nice and make you feel welcome, I would definitely recommend!

I remember not liking this restaurant in the past, but I don’t remember why. Clearly I did not appreciate good Thai food. This review is only about the food. We needed take out, and our go-to Thai place was closed. The food traveled very well. It wasn’t too steamy/soggy, and the ingredients in the spring rolls and chicken curry were fresh. We definitely will order from there again!

Authentic cuisine especially the spicy seafood salad. Very friendly staff and lots of selections. One of my favorite restaurants in the area!

I really had to debate whether or not I would give them 2 or 3 stars for this experience, let me explain. Living in Penfield Pattaya is relatively close to us but we had not been here in a couple of years since the King and I is our«go to» place for Thai in Rochester. Also they used to have coupon/Groupon deals but no longer… We decided to stop in on Saturday night. It was surprisingly crowded but there were empty tables(including at least four that were full of dirty dishes — always a turn-off and a sign of trouble ahead). We were seated and quickly notice that none of the 6 tables near us had food nor drinks — oh oh! Another red flag! Sure enough 10+ minutes passed before the server even stopped by to say it would be a couple of more minutes. At least 5 minutes later the owner/manager finally stopped by and took our order and at that point everything eventually got moving. We noticed that a couple of the workers looked to be just wandering around clueless on what they were supposed to be doing — we even asked one for water and chopsticks and they never came through with them. After being at King and I where service is faster than fast this place gets a 1 star for service. The food itself is good — the Thai Sesame Beef is flavorful and comes with broccoli and a side of pickled veggies that are quite good. The Crispy Noodles with chicken was a bit bland. The fresh spring rolls were tasty. Despite the service recovering somewhat after the first 20 minutes it was so bad that I have to give them 2 stars overall.

I continue to be very impressed with this wonderful restaurant. I love to hit this place on Monday nights right around 4:45 pm. Makes me feel like Michael Jackson because we usually have the whole place all to ourselves. Quiet, peaceful, relaxing, and very delicious cuisine. The kitchen staff is quicker than Josie Wales when it comes to cooking up their authentic Thai dishes and I have always experienced prompt and courteous service from their well educated staff. I always like to start with the fresh shrimp spring roll with peanut sauce and then I have them hit me with either the pork goyza or the chicken satay which are both equally delicious. There is a nice selection of healthy entrees and my favorite is the garlic chicken served with your choice of white or brown rice. The food is always pipping hot when it comes out of the kitchen. Its so darned good that I can’t help but to impersonate my favorite magician and make everything disappear. It is very evident that all of the food and ingredients are very fresh and you surely will be the perfect picture of health after a few visits to this restaurant. Snauk!

For all the years that Pattaya has been here, I’ve only recently ventured inside. I was recently looking for a place to take a friend for lunch, and we decided that Thai would be good, and Pattaya was close. We arrived just around 11:45 for lunch. The parking lot was fairly empty and we were lucky to get a booth. As soon as noon rolled around, the place filled up. That’s always a good sign. I ordered a Pad Prik Pao with Chicken lunch special. The meal came with a small portion of tom yum soup, and the speed at which the food came out was exceptional. My friend ordered a pad thai and was really happy with it. I also ordered a thai iced tea — but I wasn’t in love with it. It was much sweeter than some of the others I’ve had at various restaurants, and not spicy enough. Our server was pleasant, and I can offer no real complaints. Even thought the décor is somewhat out of date, it is still pleasant and sitting in a booth was really favorable. I always hate having to pull out left onto 441 — and this is the biggest complaint I have. At lunch time or rush hour, its quite difficult. I ended up doing a right turn and back tracking.

King and I is still King and that is the only reason Pattaya is not getting 4 stars. Pattaya is closer to our home — Henrietta feels like Buffalo when you live in Webster — so we frequent when we have a hankering for thai food. We have never had a bad meal here. We tend to order the same things — pad thai, gan keow wan chicken(green curry), brown rice, vegetarian spring rolls and sometimes sticky rice. It’s all amazing. We have ordered take out — have sat in the restaurant as well — and the service is impeccable. King and I tends to be quicker and it’s always busy — while Pattaya is normally more vacant, even on the weekends. I think most people get take-out from here. Every time we sit in the dining room we are one of 4 couples in the entire place. I have never seen it busy like King and I. But we love it. Kind of happy no one really knows about it … more for me.

After three years of living in Rochester, we finally had the good fortune to walk into Pattaya Thai. The clouds parted. The birds sang. And I kissed the ground to give thanks that there is an actual Thai restaurant that exists in the area that attempts actual Thai food instead of just making Chinese food and calling it by Thai names. We asked for extra spicy. While it wasn’t «extra spicy» it was spicy enough to make my forehead sweat a bit and that was lovely. We had: Fresh Veggie Spring Roll with Hoisin Sauce. — It was just lettuce and that made me sad. No carrots, no cucumber, simply lettuce upon lettuce. At least the sauce we dipped it in was good. Chili Shrimp — The only thing that reminded me I was in Rochester. While it tasted fine, it did not taste Thai. It seemed like traditional cookie cutter Chinese food takeout. Tom Yum Soup — Love. Finally. Tom Yum, I missed you so. They nailed it. Hot, spicy, sweet, tasty awesomeness. Pad Thai — The best I’ve had on the east coat. Nom nom nom. Chu Chi Fish, a sea bass filet in curry paste. I don’t know if it was authentic or not, but it was delicious. And ample. Thai Iced Coffee — Could have been a lot sweeter, which is weird to say. The service and ambiance were both great. The prices were reasonable. And we will be back… with bells on.

Slipped in here on a Sunday night after having heard good things about this place. The restaurant is not very large, but surprisingly sports a 4 seat bar and what presented to me as quite a unique décor. Better yet, the food to be quite satisfying! I ordered a tom yum soup with shrimp which melded tangy lemongrass with a spicy kick in a beautiful broth. My entrée, the panang chicken, was a flavorful yellow curry with coconut and plenty of chicken chunks. My rice portion I felt was a little light, but the palate of the food made up for it. I would come again!

Ever since the other local Thai spot closed down(Phuket Thai), I’d been searching for a replacement for those 2 times a year I visited upstate NY to get my Thai fix. I must have driven by this place 1000 times when I was younger, but never stopped in. At first sight, the décor was a bit odd. There were a few paintings that didn’t match the rest of the décor. I did’nt go for the décor however, so 2 friends and I decided to finally stop in. It was your typical Thai menu, and I had my go to food, the Panang curry, some spring rolls, and beef/chicken satay. The food was good, but eating Thai food as much as I do just left me missing some of the better Thai options. I would return, however it’s middle of the road as far as Thai food goes. It reminded me more of takeout Chinese on some of the other items I got. The panang I ordered maximum spicy, and even then it was just«hot». I would recommend Pattaya, but only because it is the only local Thai place in the area.

Fantastic! Very accommodating to Gluten Free. Crab Rangoon was best we ever had(not GF), soups were delicious. House special sesame chicken was terrific and the Tsnunami Chicken was very tastey. Come back soon! Worth your while.

Tried out Pattaya last night by getting a takeout order. My drunken noodles were delicious, albeit a bit overcooked. The BF got a spicy shrimp curry dish that was also tasty with a great coconut flavor, but he likes his food much hotter than mine so I only tried one shrimp(with a big bite of rice!). We also split an order of fresh spring rolls with shrimp. These were refreshing, light, and herby, but the wrapper was chewier that spring roll wrappers should be. It was pretty clear that they had been made a day or two beforehand and had been sitting around. My other gripe is that the portions were small for the price. IME, an order of takeout noodles from most Asian places is usually two huge servings, enough to satisfy for dinner one night and have plenty leftover for the next day’s lunch. Not so in the case. I’d order from Pattaya again, on a night when we’re both too tired to cook and just feel like something fast and easy that isn’t Chinese, pizza, or a Wegmans $ 6 meal, but probably wouldn’t make it a point to go back.

Would I call this authentic Thai Food? Probably not but it was fresh and tasty. My mom and I split the crispy spring rolls, fried goyza, a bowl of Tom yum and the garlic beef — the bill came to around $ 25 for the both of us and it was completely reasonable given the amount of food. What I liked most is that the crispy spring roll and Goyza were not greasy at all so you could taste the filling and not the frying. I was especially impressed with the fried goyza. The Tom Yum was flavorful but the chicken was overcooked, however, that’s not usual for restaurant Tom Yum. The garlic beef was tasty, light garlic sauce — not heavy and full of sticky sauce, the veggies(snowpeas, squash and snowpeas) were nice and crispy, not overcooked at all.

Meh… I always get a Thai Ice Tea, so when mine was brought with whipped cream I felt nervous. The restaurant had a smell that reminds me of water leaks, but that is also possibly the kitchen and no real fresh air. I ordered Garlic Chicken, lunch special with brown rice. The food came quickly. And it tasted fresh. Plenty of veggies and chicken. Simple, but not to my liking.

Perfectly cooked food — the coconut curry was perfect-o. Highly recommend the Panaeng Chicken. Very tasty. The overall atmosphere and the music playlist was amazing — very calm — perfect for such a place. A little far from Monroe County but much better than its fellow restaurants in the county. Would’ve given ***** but the Thai tea — a bit of a let down compared to other places and plus, it wasn’t unlimited. Overall, for a family-run restaurant, its perfect!

Was the Thai Tea good here? I could Taya but I’d have to kill ya. But my father knows, so if you hold on a second, I can have my Pa Taya. This is a review for the Thai Tea only. Which is typical of me, really. I like to try Thai Tea(since I’m so in love with it) at all kinds of Thai restaurants, and then if I love the tea or the service, I’ll go back soon and try the Thai Green Curry and other dishes. If I don’t love the tea, I still might go back, it will take longer. I was sad that nobody was in here on the day I went. It seems like they’re struggling so I feel bad for giving a 3. And if you’re in Pitt and you’re looking to fix several flats that you have, you’re in the wrong place. You were probably looking for PA-tire. But Pattaya scores a 3 for the tea alone, which is actually pretty bad. The cup was super small, and it was filled with mostly ice. The taste of the tea itself reminded me of chemicals. It wasn’t awful, so I still had most of it and sort-of enjoyed it, however I didn’t finish it(which I would have if I’d liked it, since I was very thirsty). What’s more, it cost $ 3.25, which for such a small cup was too pricey. Of course I didn’t like it anyway so I’m okay with it. But if it’d been 1.90 or 2.25 or something, I may have given them a 4 since it wasn’t awful and 3 is the lowest rating I give to family businesses. And if your feet are sore, why not go and see a Pattayatrist. And if you get involved in a hot steamy encounter in the bathroom here, is that a Pattaya-tryst? Yes.

My wife and I have been customers and big fans of Pattaya for years. I was finally moved to write a review by the takeout meal we had last night. My wife wanted to keep things simple for Mother’s Day so that we could enjoy the day outside with the kids and not worry about cooking or going out. Takeout from Pattaya made perfect sense as it’s nearby and always good. Our food was ready to go when I got there, as always — I’ve never had any service issues with them whatsoever. They’re a well-run business and it shows. We got some fresh spring rolls and two chicken entrees, mine Panang, hers ginger. I’m in the midst of a multi-year obsession with Panang and order it pretty much anywhere that has it on the menu. The Panang I had last night was just incredible and exactly what I’m looking for in that dish — the creaminess, the coconut, the way the rice soaks up the sauce… it was awesome. And my wife loved hers too. It’s pretty rare that a last-minute decision to get takeout turns into a meal that you’re still thinking about the next day.

Welcome to Flavortown. This place was a staple for my wife and I before we had kids, 12 years or more ago. We enjoyed a lot of food here, but our favorite meal was the tom yum soup followed by spicy lemon chicken. The soup was sour, savory, spicy, and a little sweet, with that amazing thai basil floating around. The chicken, not too sweet and very acidic, yet savory as well and also very light for a battered and fried dish. We loved these things so much that, after discovering them, we didn’t stray for years. Well, the kids aren’t all that much into thai food, so we didn’t come here that often. We also lived in Farmington for most of that time, and Sak’s was much closer and just as good, with a few special dishes of their own(pineapple basil shrimp hell yes). Now we live closer, so my wife requested it for mother’s day. She ordered the old standby, and I was just about to, but hesitated. I don’t eat much meat these days, and I was on the verge of asking them if they could make the old favorite dish with shrimp or tofu, then took another look at the menu and decided to go completely astray. And it blew my mind. I got the yum squid(squid salad with chili paste) and drunken noodle. The yum squid was similar in flavor to the tom yum soup I love so much, but fresher and crisper(it’s a salad, after all). The squid was just a *touch* overdone, m but it was takeout. If I had eaten it sooner I bet it would have been perfect. Just sour, savory, sweet, and nice and spicy with fresh crispy veg and tender squid. The drunken noodle wasn’t as acidic and not sweet at all, a more savory dish. HOwever, they were able to pack every single bite with a whallop of thai basil flavor. This dish was amazing, one of my favorite things I have ever put in my mouth. The noodles were a little mushy, but I blame takeout for that too. Eaten right away, they would have been better. I will be back again and again, and should probably try more dishes. Tip: Make sure you order your food spicy enough. It ranges from one to five stars, and if you don’t specify, you get it the mildest, one star. I order my food five stars, my wife three. If you don’t bump up the spice at least a little, you’re really missing out.

I’ve heard pattayas the spot to hit up for good Thai food. I’ve been here twice so far(mainly due to convenience and desperation for Thai food). My conclusion? Mediocre. I feel terrible saying this about a family owned restaurant. The service is fantastic, but there’s a reason why this place is almost always completely empty(or at least the times that I have gone. Once for lunch and once for dinner). I ordered the pad see ew(which is supposed to come with Chinese broccoli, by the way). Both times the noodles were way too soft. And in my most recent experience, one huge noodle was way too soft. This might have been okay if the place was busy, but I was the only diner. The gall of the chef and waiter to bring that to me!!! I swallowed my disgust & ate away, for I was extremely hungry. The food itself is not great, and for the quality, and portion size, it is also over priced!!! I will not name names, but I’ve had better in Rochester.
