Great steak, great atmosphere and an attentive wait staff. It’s not the cheapest place but it’s far from the most expensive. They made a very good ribeye and and their house salad was excellent. I had a martini that mad made to perfection. I didn’t partake in any dessert.

How do I start I ordered the special which was the pan seared halibut with a mango ceviche and veggies that where over cooked but eatable the garlic mashed potatoes had good flavor but they where just Luke warm. I like my food hot. I kept trying to distinguish the ceviche from the fish but it just didn’t fit. The one thing I was disappointed in was I ordered a glass of Pinot noir and it was barely a half poor for ten bucks it should have been more it was not an expensive wine. The owner was pleasant and very much in tune with her customers but I think I bit bigger portion for the price would have made the dinner a bit better. The service was great the waitress was very much aware and I appreciate that. I have eaten there five or six times and it’s just ok not over the top like it could be. Chef Tyler

High end food at a great price! After drinks were served we munched on a yummy bread, olive oil and balsamic with roasted garlic and a veggie plate. Then we started our meal with a beautiful salad with candied walnuts. «The lady» had the chicken Marsala and safron rice– the best I’ve had!!! The chicken was obviously cut fresh with crispy skin, the mushrooms were delicious and the brocolini had a hollandais infused with garlic! So yummy! «The gentleman«had the beef stroganoff which was rich, creamy and a good balance of meat with the noodles. Service by «Patience«was warm and friendly. Ambiance was elegant and interesting red and black, could be very romantic if you weren’t with your brother!

What a find. I was on a cross country trip with my Daughter and stopped here on our way to Portland. A classy supper club with great food, great service and a great bartender. They all made our last night on the road memorable!!!

We had dinner there with my daughter who is 5. Our waitress was very attentive. She was so sweet to my daughter. We sat upstairs which is my favorite place to sit ! I had chicken with avocado, It was breaded very nicely and the Brussel sprouts that came on the side were so good! I prefer them over the waxy green beans that some places serve. I ended up having my daughters spaghetti as left overs as she found it too spicy but I found the flavor to be perfect! I love that the employees dress up nicely and treat you well even if you are dressed in casual clothes. I appreciate that the owner is almost always there to greet you as it shows that she cares about her business, The atmosphere is classy. It is my favorite place to go in Pendleton! We try and go here every year for our anniversary and it has not ever disappointed us!

My favorite restaurant in the area. The food is seasonal, beautiful, and unique and they have a full bar. The décor is drop-dead gorgeous. Think classy saloon. I’ve been told that very little has changed. They have a kid’s menu but it feels a little too quiet and upscale for children so I don’t bring mine unless I have to. Great place for a romantic, quiet, intimate dinner.

Super Great Food. Filet Oscar and Prime Rib both tasted great. Not sure on the price for what you get. Portions on the light side.

*Great spot with a lot of history and the décor shows you that *For Pendleton, it was good, had the steak a little dry but charred nicely and the sides were good *I would go back if not for the ambiance

Seattle 3 and Pendleton 4. Service was attentive. When I asked about a particular wine, however, she said«it’s delicious», not quite an explanation but okay. Salads were good and I appreciated the fresh edible flowers however they were overdressed and the balsamic was overpowering. Lamb shank was good and mashed potatoes were average. My dinner mates had the beef stroganoff and it was soupy which was underwhelming. Overall, the meat was good, the ambiance was great(velvet wallpaper was amazing), and service was quick and attentive. For the area, they are doing a stand up job.

Nice atmosphere, kind of old timey. Service excellent and the food was very good overall. The steak was excellent, but the broccoli side not so much. We also had the Jambalaya which was OK, but certainly not of the quality you would find in a Cajun style restaurant as the sauce was not spicy and a bit too Italian in taste. It did reheat well and was an excellent leftover. We will revisit but will probably stick to the steak offerings.

Great service. The proprietor was present which always makes a difference. Extraordinary prime rib. We split meals for portion control. All 6 of us loved our meals. Most definitely a repeat visit.

Meal was great and service was even better. We were traveling through from a vacation heading home and the front desk clerk at the motel suggested here. So we tried it and the food was absolutely amazing. Blackened Prime Rib was the best I have ever had, didn’t even need any sauce. Our server was just a doll. My only complaint was overhearing the manager raising her voice to her over a table mix up. We voiced our concerns to the manager when she asked how our meals were. She apologized and explained and said Thank u for bring it to her attention. Then sent us home with some magnificent desserts. We will definitely go back.

Disappointing for the meal but service was great! I ordered the California chicken with mozzarella, tomatoes and bacon. The chicken was undercooked and seemed to be missing the bacon. It was supposed to be bacon bits, but it was pretty flavorless. The Caesar salad was also pretty bland, as the dressing didn’t taste like traditional Caesar and the croutons were stale hard. The salad was served with onions and carrots, weird. The saving grace here was the owner and server were extremely nice and tried to make it right. The fried avacado was good. Pretty spendy. Nice ambiance but kind of small. Not sure if I will try again.

Pendleton is a cowboy town. It is a smaller town. To expect first rate cuisine is unrealistic. I was expecting little when my wife and I chose Virgils, mostly as the lesser of evils than a desired destination. I was wrong. I had a very nice tomato/basil bisque with portabello(my fave) and a nice veggie scramble. My wife had a terrific salad and a rice/chicken main dish. We shared a bread pudding desert. All said, it was reasonably priced, well prepared and tasty. Service was very good. Our server found answers to several questions I had that she did not know the answers to. The Rusty Nail I had as a cocktail was surprisingly good, and good value. We walked out with smiles on our face and fully bellies. I shall return.

My husband and I have been here several times now, and I can say we have never been disappointed in the food or the service. The staff is always friendly and very attentive, your drinks are never empty. They are always good at recommending things to try! The food is wonderful, I absolutely love the salad that you get before your meal, it’s a beautiful presentation with an edible flower on it. The rib-eye steak is so delicious always cooked to perfection and well seasoned. The veggies with the meal was Brussels sprouts and let’s just say I’m not a Brussel sprout person and well I have converted to a fan!!! You won’t be disappointed!!!

We ate here last year, and on this years trip we returned and were not disappointed. Service could not be better, the décor is great, still the old west feel. This place looks like a beauty pageant as the staff has to be the most beautiful ladies in Pendleton, however as beautiful inside as out, they truly are very nice folks and treat you very well. So now for the food, great taste, huge portions, reasonable prices. What more can you ask for. This is a do not miss place in Pendleton.

We stopped into Virgil’s on our overnight in Pendleton. It’s a cute place with a super friendly staff. The salad was topped with a flower and was fresh greens and candied walnuts. We also tried the Seafood Chowder, which was tasty. My cutie and I both had the Flat Iron Steak special and it was a nice meal. The inside has a main dining area in the bar area and then more seating in the back. We sat up in the main dining room, which is dark, and themed with horses, western tack and a warm red and dark colors. It’s a little like a speakeasy sort of feel, someone else said old western bordello, I’d second that too. Our server was lovely, very friendly and willing to share her thoughts on the menu. There is also a good selection of local types of wines, I enjoyed a Walla Walla Malbec. We were overall very happy and would recommend Virgil’s to others.
