. We went here for the first time because i didn’t want to cook my own Chicken Adobo .I found it a little pricey for the quantity. I found that the Chicken Adobo lacked flavor as weird as it sounds, since it is usually filled with flavors of garlic and soy sauce, but maybe I just got it on a bad day. I would definitely give it a try again. We only had one waiter so we had to wait awhile. Hopefully next time it will be better. On a side note it was very clean and nice.

This weekend I was craving some good, authentic Filipino food. I stumbled across this place through Unilocal and figured I’d check it out, only to find out that it was 40 minutes away. Not a problem — Filipino food was worth the drive in that moment. Unilocal said this place closed at 9PM and it was only 7:30, so I figured I’d get there around 8:15 and have more than enough time to enjoy a nice dinner. WRONG! I showed up 40 minutes later on the DOT, and find this place with the«Open» light still on and employees gathered behind the counter. As I approached the door, I received mixed looks from the employees, which were then confirmed when I reached for the handle only to find that the door was locked. NOWAY. I checked my watch — 8:15. I checked the hours on the door — open until 9PM on Saturday. Unbelievable. One of the employees came up to the door and shook their head«No» from the other side of the glass. Can’t believe I wasted my gas for a place that can’t even honor their own hours. I will NEVER come back here again.

Great Food and good price. Staff is very friendly and prompt. Hidden within the shopping center but is well worth the find. This is by far the best Filipino food in South Florida. Highly recommend.

Food was good, portion size just«ok». Prices a little higher than I expected for the portion size. Didn’t like how early they close. They also require you to get there at least an hour before their closing time to place your order. You better get there early if you’re going for dinner.

It wasn’t that long ago that I found myself homeless in Tennessee. Fortunately, I was taken in by a Filipino family(coworker) until it was time for me to head back to Miami. I honed my ninja skills during the nightly family kung fu hour(it’s a thing Filipinos do), played call of duty with the oldest son and constantly yelled at the girls for going through my stuff. Even though I was part of this family for a couple of months, the one thing I didn’t get to do was try home made Filipino food. So when the hungriest of Filipino Unilocalers [Krizia L] setup a UYE for some authentic flip food, I just had to make it out so I could taste what i was missing. Food: We were a group of 8 and went at the menu( Unilocal) family style. It feels like we just about ordered at least one of everything but I’ll just cover a few and leave further exploration up to you. *Chicken lollipops; If you find the menu intimidating then these are a safe bet. These are something like breaded chicken wings for dummies and they’re served with a sweet and sour sauce on the side. *Skewered pork barbecue; Another safe bet. Name really says it all… Delicious pork guts on a stick smothered in barbecue sauce. *Pancit Bihon — Fancypinoy speak for flavorful stir fry noodles. *Lechon Kawali — Pork belly with a mystery sauce. What isn’t a mystery is why it tastes so good. Pork belly is synonymous with delicious. *Sisig — Even though it was very flavorful and fun looking, I really couldn’t handle the texture. It felt like I had hundreds of squishy balls in my mouth. I don’t do balls. *Sizzling Bangus — Sorry, I wasn’t brave enough to try this. I’m new to seafood and i just wasn’t sure if i could eat this without doing something stupid like swallowing and choking on a fish buttbone. The presentation was nice though! *[Drinks] Sago Gulaman and Green Tea Boba; I usually have multiple drinks on the table at any given time. I decided to give these Filipino specialties a try and that was a huge mistake. I tried to force myself to finish them, but every sip brought me closer to a sugary death. I’m going to guess that the majority of the population in the Philippines has diabetes. WAY too sweet for my taste, but the Filipinos seem to love them. Atmosphere: Very spacious for it’s size but it’s nut’n fancy. Good for a casual meal. It was a weekend lunch — Aside from our group there were about 4 – 6 other people there at any given time. Parking: This place is in a big shopping plaza. There was plenty of parking available. The hard part is finding Manila. Service: There was only 1 waitress and I’m assuming 1 cook but they have the efficiency thing down to a science. Food was constantly flying out of the kitchen and the waitress handled the whole restaurant like a champ. Good service and interesting dishes /drinks. I would definitely come back to try some new Filipino grub.

I’ve been to my share of Filipino restaurants. This one is over priced. The portions do not match the price. The food is average. The Kare-Kare was on the cold side, the pancit is average, the pork adobo came with 3 pieces. The best part was the lechon kawali.

This place needs to work on improving their kitchen and service standards. We dined in for late lunch and also ordered Palabok for to go. We keep on asking the waiter if the to go food is ready and he goes saying it’s coming. When we were about to pay for our meal and asked about the palabok, the cashier said none being cooked in the kitchen. The waiter didn’t even apologized for the inconvenience. This waiter didn’t even gave us plates after taking our order. He has no service skills.

Thank you so much Krizia for organizing a UYE at this restaurant. I probably would never have come here on my own, and I am so glad to have found this place, because it’s the best Filipino restaurant I’ve tried so far! This place has an extensive menu, and unlike other places, everything is made fresh in the kitchen instead of sitting out at the counter. In fact, as a group we have overwhelmed the kitchen, and the owner came to apologize and ask us to be patient as they prepare our food. We were fine by that, as we were having a great time as a group, and it meant that the food was cooked from scratch. As a big group we were able to sample many dishes: — Pancit Bihon: the stir-fried rice vermicelli is nicely flavored with lots of different ingredients — oxtail in kare kare peanut sauce: very tender, though for me, I prefer the sauce with more peanut flavor and less rice thickener. — BBQ pork skewers: delicious! Especially with the sauce on it! — chicken lollipops: a little dry, not too impressed. — eggplant omelette: not just eggplant but a variety of veggies with minced pork. — pakpet(veggies stir fried in shrimp paste) — I find the shrimp paste too mild but I love the variety of veggies in it, with okra, green beans, bitter melon, carrot, eggplant and more. — lechon kawali: roasted fatty pork with crispy skin. Can’t go wrong. — Sizzling Bulalo: no, not buffalo, it’s beef shank in a super rich mushroom cream sauce. Again, sauce is too thick, but my favorite dish of the day. — Sisig: a famous Filipino dish, it comes sizzling on a hot plate, chopped up pieces of pork and pig offal: liver, ear, and other bit and pieces, with an egg on top for you to stir in. You do taste the different bites, so if this sounds gross to you, don’t. — Bangus Sisig: a fish version, with the whole fish, butterflied and deboned. This is Krizia’s favorite! For drinks, I had the black gulaman. It’s a slightly sweet drink with cubes of jelly made from herb and naturally black in color. They also have bubble teas and fresh young coconut. Or if you prefer soft drinks, try Sarsi, which tastes like root beer.

Average and typical filipino cuisine. Professionalism and Customer service is not their priority. Example: As a customer when ordering for catering; you as a customer reserves the right to pick a time for pickup(as long as it is reasonable and not a last minute request). However in my case they suggested a different time of pickup based on their convenience. say you ordered a week in advance to pickup at 3pm; they will gladly change that pickup time to say around 11am at the customers inconvenience. Then when you call them; they pickup and leave you hanging for more than 10 minutes; did not even bother to check and apologize and they will be right with you; to take your order on the phone. Very unprofessional and it is best you just spend your money elsewhere who would treat you good as a customer. Also go ahead read all the wonderful reviews about this business(truth is their are just families and friends of the owner) Just to bolster their ratings and good luck with that!!! Save your money and eat something better!!!

One of the cool things about Unilocal is that it’s given me the chance to broaden my culinary horizons, and Krizia’s Filipino Lunch UYE was one of those! Manila Grill is located in a strip mall with plenty of parking and a mom and pop place, friendly vibe. I didn’t catch her name but out waitress was smiling and telling the newcomers about the different dishes and seasonings. A fusion of Spanish and Asian cooking, Pinoy food has the perfect blend of spicy hot and sweet, starting with the Pork BBQ sissig we ordered. Served in skewers with a sweet and ginger BBQ sauce and green onion garnish, the meat was tender and tasty. I ended up eating most of those. sorry fellow Unilocalers :) Next up I had the juicy pork chunks and my other favorite — chicken lollipops in a sweet and hot thai chili sauce. Though I had to leave early, I took my order of chicken adobo for dinner. The vinegar seasoning gave it a nice tang that lasted perfectly thru dinner(just like Krys and Krizia’s mentioned !) The only reason I’m holding a star is my fault, since I had to leave and couldn’t try the tres Leche and halo halo. That means I’ll be driving back soon. I wanted to thank Krizia for putting this together. It was also nice seeing Krys, her family and Israel. Maraming salamot!

I’m kind of disheartened by all the bad reviews here to be honest. It truly gave me a pre-disposed judgement that this place would be lackluster. I guess it depends on our personal experience? But thats why I try not to judge nor leave a review based on a bad experience just from one time. Anyways, came here FINALLY after hearing of this place for a year now. I didn’t realize how close this was to my job! I’m so excited to have tasty, authentic Filipino food extremely close. I was extremely, extremely excited that they had Kare-Kare. I haven’t had this dish in YEARS, I couldn’t contain my excitement! It was just as good as I remembered. I also got the Pork BBQ skewers for my boyfriend.(He eats pork and I haven’t eaten pork in years so yes, I miss out on some good eats I suppose) He said that he enjoyed them and the seasoning was very yummy. He also had the pork adobo and kept talking about how good it was. He’s had to please in some aspects just because hes kind of picky and I’m scared to introduce him to «different» things like filipino food. Chinese take out is already one thing, haha. So I was very, very happy that he really enjoyed his lunch. Happy tummy, happy boyfriend right? I’ll definitely be back and I recommend for others to check out this family owned business if you’re a local in the area as well.

Only one person to take orders, make halo halo and run register on the night I wanted to finally enjoy some flip food after some inspiration from Pacquio getting weighed in for his big fight with Mayweather. Ordered some Pancit Bihon to go and had to wait over 30 minutes, I only pray it’s fresh. Very disappointed that my peeps still are operating like they are back in the mountains in the PI.

I do not know why I keep trying Filipino restaurants, when I am never impress. This place is no exception. I had high hopes because the Unilocal reviews are great and I know a lot of people that love this place, but ugh, why?! The Filipino BBQ when I went was terrible. It tasted like chicken that was grilled and then someone slapped some store bought BBQ sauce on top of it – not what Filipino BBQ taste or looks like. I will say that my mom ate here another day and brought some Filipino BBQ home and hers was pretty good and tasted how it was supposed to. So maybe it is hit or miss depending on who cooks it. Their Halo — halo is good enough, it does the job of satisfying my craving but it is on the small side, more ice than anything else, and barely any milk. The Lechon was also just ok. Needed more seasoning and the dipping sauce should be Mang Tomas not soy sauce(yuck!). What really pissed me off was the crappy service I got. One half of the room had what I believe was the owner, and I got what I believe was the owner’s mom. She was cranky and unattentive to the point of being rude when I wanted to order two similar things. If I want to, then just place the order. Don’t just not place the order thinking I must be confused and then be annoyed when I ask where the other dish is. I understand and speak Tagalog fluently so talking crap about the customer in Tagalog is TERRIBLE customer service. Just a hint for the futute, because someone doesn’t look Filipino or look like they speak Tagalog doesn’t mean they aren’t or don’t so it is free game to talk ****. Brought down my rating from 3 stars to 1. Could have been 4 stars if I got the same BBQ and service the rest of my family received on other days… The other lady was very nice, offered suggestions, and checked up on her tables. I’m willing to give this place another shot though as it is a local, Filipino owned business. But hopefully next time I get someone pleasant and the BBQ is on point. They have a great selection of items on their menu and even had bubble tea that I saw someone throughly enjoy.

Growing up in a Filipino household I was forced to eat my share of Filipino food. Pancit was pretty much a staple growing up and I definitely did not like it. Perhaps it was my parents’ relatively bland palate that did it or maybe the«grass is always greener» syndrome but Cuban food was my favorite growing up… go figure. Anyway as my palate has grown I find myself being more interested in different foods and Filipino food is definitely one. Since my mom was at my house we found this place on Unilocal and decided to check it out. The mall where this place is located is a bit shady, but once we entered we were greeted by the ultra friendly staff which made us feel at home. All i can say is that this ain’t my mom’s cooking, it’s BETTER! We sampled a bunch of dishes: Sisig — This was one of my favorites as a it was a delicious combination of pork meat and liver with a fried egg on top. Delish! Filipino BBQ– Any good place has to have good BBQ skewers and the ones here were great. They are a little sweeter than I am used to but definitely juicy and delicious. Grilled Liampo — I have no idea why I have never had this before but it is grilled pork belly in a dipping sauce. It was great but next time I’ll do it fried like they suggest in the restaurant. Pancit Palabok– This is a different variation of the traditional pancit(bihon) that uses bigger rice noodles and has squid ink and eggs. I think I like this version much better. Pancit Bihon — The traditional pancit served everywhere. Not bad but then again i’ve never been a fan. Overall this is some of the best Filipino food I have ever had, and will definitely come back. Even my mom grudgingly acknowledged the place was«good». Considering the source this is a pretty damn good compliment!

I’m veeeeeery picky when it comes to Filipino food. I pretty much always end up comparing it to my mama’s cooking. Nothing beats mom’s cooking right? Lol. But I have to say the food here comes in close competition to my moms. This restaurant is in the plaza on the corner of Pembroke and Flamingo and it’s all the way in back of the plaza. Came in around 12pm and they offered both lunch and breakfast. My boyfriend and I went all out. We ordered: 1. Sisig– pork served on a sizzling platter(sorta like how fajitas are made). A tad spicy but super delicious! 2. Kare-Kare– oxtail in a stew filled with bokchoy and eggplant, which could feed 2 people the serving is so big! 3. Pancit Palabok– noodles served with shrimp and to my surprise squid. I don’t like squid usually, but whatever they did with this squid I didn’t mind it at all. 4. Sago at gulaman– drink/dessert with tapioca pearls and gelatin in a water and sugar syrup mixture 5. Last but not least Halo Halo– a dessert dish made of shaved ice, ube ice cream, real ube, baby coconut, plus much more. And yes, we finished every bite of it. I’m a bit sad though because the day we went they didn’t have any Filipino barbecue which is probably the best thing ever. If you go and try this place, TRYTHEBARBECUE! Glad to finally have a Filipino restaurant nearby, and at that a delicious one too!

This place has the best filipino BBQ pork skewers ever. Grilled fresh everyday and the sauce is BOMB. I love the home-cooked feeling from the food and vibe from the restaurant(idk if that makes sense). My friend and I ordered the skewers, bone marrow beef(on special when we went) and their chopsoy, which is mixed vegetable stir fry. The bone marrow beef was cooked to perfection — very tender and full of flavor. It came out on a hot skillet so it even sounded amazing as the waiter dropped it off lol. I love vegetables and I love how the vegetables weren’t overcooked and it wasn’t drowned in sauce. I also love how courteous the service is. The owner is always up front talking to his customers and making sure they’re satisfied. They just opened up in a busy shopping plaza on the corner of Flamingo and Pembroke Road in Miramar. It’s kinda behind the Publix. I can’t wait to come back to Miami and hit this place up again. Oh also! They serve boba and halo halo! YUMMM.
