Simply delicious food. All the fish dishes are as good as it gets, but try the skate if you’re lucky enough to be there on a day they’re serving it. Great wine list and top notch desserts. The service is good and the waiters are often quirky locals. Hard to believe this is a neighborhood restaurant.

I like the food very much but was quite disappointed when I went with my husband recently. We received a gift certificate for Christmas and he decided to splurge on the scallop dish, which is on the menu. He ended up getting 3 scallops for $ 32.00 with 4 small cauliflower and a sauce. To make a long story short, he was starved and ended up eating half my meal, and had to get a slice of pizza afterward. My husband is about 145 pound, so as you can imagine, he doesn’t eat a ton. We finished our meal within 45 minutes and left. It’s a shame… I really like the place but $ 32 for a scallop dish(for 3 scallops) is outrageous!

A gem in Westchester … Brian and I love the food and always say we feel like we’re stepping into a coveted Manhattan restaurant that happens to be in Pelham. I love the French fare, which is delicious yet unpretentious. They have a really great lunch special that includes an appetizer and entrée for $ 18, or the aforementioned plus dessert for $ 25. I usually oscillate between the mussels(available in four broths) with pomme frites or the burger with bistro frisse salad or pâté of the day. Also of the du jour variety: flatbread, quiche, soup, pasta, and risotto. I can honestly say that I’ve tried a good percentage of the menu, and have never disliked anything(which is hard to say at ANY restaurant!) And the staff makes the trip almost as worthwhile as the food. The waiters, busboys, even the chef, always make you feel special. Which is, come to think of it, damn near impossible to find at any restaurant.

weekend late luncheon with the widowed relatives and we lucked out. Quiet restaurant, charming server in charge of the bread and water, one star off for the other server who is the first person ever to serve at table while on his cell phone. Not cool. Otherwise, great food(smoked salmon plate was beautifully presented and quite tasty, too!), ambience, service, price and value. we would happily return.

My friend and I stopped in early Saturday evening(just after 6pm) for an early dinner before heading to the city. The restaurant was almost empty, and the female owner asked if we had reservations, which we did not because of the early hour. She said since it was restaurant week, she could not seat us at a table without reservations and the best she could do was the bar. I thought that was a little weird considering the early hour, but we went along with it. We were seated at an empty bar with no bartender. There were large ice buckets on the end with wines by the glass in them, but we sat 2 seats down from that so we would not feel obstructed by them. The waiter in the table section came over to us and said that he wasn’t the bartender, but he would be waiting on us. He left us a wine list and a menu. To be honest, he seemed, in the beginning, a little annoyed that we were seated at the bar and didn’t come back to take our wine order for almost 10 minutes. The wine list had a rather expansive selection by the glass and I was impressed with the fact that it had Albarino, for example by the glass — particularly for a French restaurant. What was not impressive were the prices of the wine. While I understand the markup of wine and liquor in a restaurant, this was a bit much by the glass. For example, the French Chardonnay, Nicolas, while a lovely example of a French Chard, is way overpriced at $ 10 per glass, considering an entire bottle will set you back about $ 8.50 in a wine store. I went with the Sancerre, which was also $ 10 per glass, but I felt would be a better value. It was good, the pour was appropriate and it was chilled correctly. There was a younger bus boy in the place who was super friendly and very polite. He brought us some silverware and napkins since we were at the bar as well as our waters. When thanked, he always replied, «my pleasure». He was very sweet and quite a contrast to the owner when we came in regarding friendliness and smiling. The waiter came back to take our meal order. He actually was very helpful in helping us select our appetizers and entrees. I got the root vegetable soup and my friend got the pear salad, both recommended by our waiter. He was on point — excellent blend of flavors. The salad was crisp and fresh and the soup was creamy and delicious. He recommended the roasted chicken which was also excellent. It was cooked well, served au juis and semi-deboned. It came with a nice portion of whipped potatoes and a vegetable, all cooked well and served at temperature. The food came out on time and our dishes were bussed quickly which was very nice, especially since we were alone at the bar. The dessert course was nice too. My friend had the apple compote with cinnamon ice cream which was a nice blend of flavor, texture and temperature. I asked for the chocolate mousse with raspberries and cream, hold the mousse. The waiter and the chef were kind enough to accommodate my request(so I had a plate of fresh raspberries and cream). We also had tea and coffee(they bring you a whole pot of each, which is very nice!) The waiter also found out that we were celebrating my friend’s upcoming marriage, and gave us a little glass of bubbly to celebrate, which was a nice touch. He seemed to warm up as dinner went on, and ended up being a nice guy to my relief. The owner lady did come over to us to request we move down to accommodate other guests, and was not particularly nice about it — not terribly rude, but a little curt about it. She also began to take my tea and such before I was finished — she obviously wanted us to leave. I understood that as they were getting busy by the time we were leaving and by that point, the place was almost full. However, we likely could have sat at a table without hindering the reservations, in hindsight. I take it that the owner was a bit stressed because it was HV Restaurant week. I would be willing to give the place another try on another night and to make a reservation so that perhaps we would be treated better. But all in all, the food and the service were good here.

My wife and I enjoyed a good experience here. It was Lower Hudson Valley’s Restaurant Week so we thought we’d try this eatery. I started out with Fall Root Vegetable Soup. It was a creamy purée served with minced chive garish. It’s warm and creamy texture was delightful leaving a mild vegetable flavor on the palate. My wife enjoyed her flatbread with warmed pear slices and prosciutto topping garnished with grated Parmesan. I order their burger which came on an oversized challah-like bun garnished with melted Gruyère disguising the bacon and caramelized onions underneath. It was broiled as requested medium but not overdone. A generous portion of fresh, crisp French Fries along with a healthy vinaigrette side salad completed this schizoid look of this plate. We also ordered the roasted chicken breast which was moist and full of flavor. The side of broccoli and carrots was tasty but skimpy. I recommend the apple tart, skip the chocolate mousse. It tasted as though it was created via a mix– a bit grainy on the tongue. The service was excellent and the ambiance was appropriate for the setting. We plan to return.

We had a lovely dinner at the bistro. We had a three course meal. I chose the spaghetti with pancetta as an appetizer it was spectacular. Also had the fish with a very nice butter sauce and perfectly cooked haricot vert with roasted potatoes. I chose the apple compote crusted with vanilla ice cream and that was wonderful. Excellent bread with fresh butter as well. I highly recommend this place to eat. Great service lovely host and hostess and great help. I tasted my friends short ribs and they were wonderful perfectly cooked and flavored.

We love this place. We eat here often for dinner or Sunday brunch, and we are so grateful that such a pleasant place with great food is out here in Pelham and not in Manhattan. The owners’ goal is «exquisite food in a comfortable atmosphere.» The goal is met. Some of the dishes here compete at an international level. Last night’s dinner stood out for Spring. The asparagus salad was special. The asparagus was perfectly cut, cooked enough but not too much and lightly dressed with a fresh taste. The Spring vegetable risotto was creamy and was seasoned with peas and maybe ramps? Comfort food extraordinaire with a magical novelty I can’t identify. The halibut was also a perfectly cooked dream, with the taste of Spring: ramps and little onions. They made the spaghetti carbonara for one of our guests; it wasn’t on the menu but we know it is great there, speaking of comfort food. We have brought Manhattanites here to have the oysters. Basics like quiche and onion soup are outstanding. Another piece of good news is that they take care to make the dishes a little differently for take-out, so take-out is equally good– it’s a rare ability to make halibut deeply good for take-out and bring a bit of the French Bistro to your home. We try not to miss a wine dinner. Also, amazingly, the weekly email is a delight of food images and previews of the specials that you might not be able to consume, but can savor electronically. The gracious host-owners are part of it.

I usually love this place but tonight, during Restaurant Week, our meal was very average. Our appetizers were the flat bread and the carrot soup. The waiter recommended the short ribs, my dining companion got the risotto. The bread pudding and a chocolate mousse were dessert. Desserts were the standouts. The apps were just okay. The risotto had a weird musty flavor to me — maybe the chorizo? And my short ribs were like a very average beef roast atop mashed potatoes that seemed like they came out of a box. Ouch! Don’t judge this place by this year’s Restaurant Week menu. Usually, it’s great…

Took advantage of Hudson Valley restaurant week and was very impressed! For the first course, I had the BLT salad which was a perfect starter. For my meal I had the shrimp and chorizo risotto and it was excellent! My dessert was the apple bread pudding and it was a bit dry but still good. The service was impeccable as each course came out in a timely fashion and every worker we dealt with was polite and courteous. The owner stopped by to ask how we were and a bit about us which I felt was a nice touch. I find it to be perfect customer relations when an owner takes the time to get to know his patrons. My only«complaint» if you could call it that was that the bread, which they impressively continually brought out, was not warm and not cut very well as tearing the pieces off proved to be a bit of a pain in the neck. Overall, I feel it’s a place both myself and the large group I was a part of will return to.

What’s going on? Came here for lunch because they are supposed to be open for lunch. Although the door was open, no one was there. Waited about 15 minutes before awkwardly heading towards the exit. I know the food here is exceptional but this experience was not

After going here for years we had a very disappointing meal and I’m afraid the personal service component that made the experience so special has simply faded away. New staff, new captain, no connection anymore and the food was poor, too.

Not exactly authentic French cuisine but a well run café with good service and tasty food. Can recommend the salmon tartare. Wine list is OK but not that extensive. Good food at reasonable prices for southern Westchester.

A great little bistro on 5th. Nice outdoor patio, friendly staff and very nice owner. Glad we went. I was however a little let down by the cocktails. I had read in Westchester magazine they had great artisan cocktails, but when I asked for suggestions I got«how about a gin and tonic?» — which is fine just not what I expected. Wanting something as quickly as possible, I ordered the first thing that came to mind: a mojito(it was a nice warm night). At first he wasn’t sure they could make it, but when I explained the ingredients he said it shouldn’t be a problem. They were half right, good enough to get another, but far from excellent. Maybe the main bartender wasn’t there that night? Or maybe we have different definitions of artisan cocktails — in either case, we’ll definitely be back, but probably just stick with wine next time.

If you haven’t tried Bistro Rollin yet you should go to there website and reserve a table right now! For starters the staff was very friendly and will give you great recommendations on every dish and certainly listen to there recommendations(everything is steller but the staff knows the real dishes that wow in every way). Unto the food, the person I was with had an appetizer of the Bibb Salad which was delicious fresh and crunchy, I had the BLT salad as an appetizer which was amazing with delicious with great thick cut bacon and an amazing dressing. The presentation was beautiful. The main course I had was the mediterranean sea bass absolutely delicious with a great subtle sauce perfectly balanced and prepared and presented beautifully. The person I was with had the Steamed PEI(Prince Edward Island) Mussels served in a large aluminum bowl with a white wine sauce with two additional options, never in my entire life have I sampled such delicate delicious mussels that tasted as if they had moments before been plucked from the sea! The sauce so divine that after the mussels were gone and they were plentiful that bread in the sauce was equally as divine. My main course was Mediterranean Sea Bass(Branzino) in a Lemon broth with Moroccan olives with small potatoes. Simply divine unbelivable tender as can be and fresh as possible easily able to be sliced with a fork no knife necessary! I cannot stress enough Chef Lozano takes simple ingredients and elevates to a brilliant culinary level of perfection. I had the honor of speaking with Chef Lozano after enjoying my meal after asking my waiter and he is such a kind chef to take the time during a dinner service to talk to customers at all. May I say he was just as interesting to talk too as his brilliant dishes! I will be back to Bistro Rollin and will bring more foodie friends with me and if you consider yourself any kind of foodie or at all interested in good quality food in a non-pretentious quaint enviorment then head over to Bistro Rollin and enjoy. You will not be disappointed!
