Holiday Inn Express & Suites Pekin

A generous four stars. New, mostly updated property, very attentive and professional staff. Nice little after hours appetizers and drinks offering.
Bed was marginally comfortable. The surrounding amenities were underwhelming (big thing for me). And lets face it, no one is going to vacation in Pekin any time soon.
Decent choice if you have to stay in the city God Forgot.

This hotel was very clean. The staff was nice and the free breakfast was excellent. I would’ve given 5 stars if the beds had been comfortable. The other problem was that there were children running up and down the hallway at 1 a.m. This isn’t the hotels problem, but it would be nice if the parents of those children didn’t suck.

The hotel was clean and updated. The pillow and mattress were actually very comfortable.

The rooms were clean, the staff was amazing, and breakfast was fresh. I was simply relieved to see that Pekin had a Holiday Inn Express, official with the flag. The manager Linda Marie, is in the right business. I had the opportunity to meet her and she is a gem! The pillows were so comfortable I had to buy one for myself and she sold me one! HIE has pretty high standards that must be met in order to keep the flag flying (my sister-​in-​law managed one in CA). Stay here, you will love this hotel. Right across from an Applebee’s.

I normally stay at Fairfields or Comfort Inns. This place is nice. Newer. The staff delivered on my special requests. I almost gave 5 stars. Here is why I didn’t. The water came out of my bathroom sink slow. I didn’t ask them why I just assumed it was an eco-​friendly thing. The shower is not like that. The water comes out of the shower head fine once you select the correct setting. Another reason for 4 stars is the price. I believe it was overpriced. I came here for work. I don’t believe there was any kind of special event going on at the time so I don’t agree with the rate. But you won’t be disappointed here. I believe it’s the nicest place in Pekin. If there is a nicer hotel in Pekin I didn’t see it. And maybe that’s why they can get the price. Supply and demand right? You’ll be happy here.

Clean, newer, HIX. Staff was friendly, breakfast area was roomy enough. Everything I expect from a Holiday Inn Express. Avanti’s restaurant across the parking lot. My only criticism is the sound of doors closing in the hallway was louder in my room than it should be.

Nice rooms, clean, and friendly staff. And the TV even read hello to me with my name on it!
