Mercado Azteca & Deli

Not very eye appealing but the food is good. Can’t say I will be a frequent visitor but take out will be an option. Don’t get me wrong the place is very clean it’s just that I can’t see myself sitting down to eat at the back of a deli/​bodega.

All the reviews here have it totally correct. The tacos I just ate here today with my son blew us away. You wouldn’t know it when you walk in, but these are the most righteous tacos in Peekskill and beyond.

I’ve been coming to The Aztec Deli since it first opened and it is one of my favorite go to spots for food. Great authentic Mexican food, my personal favorite is the steak burrito, next in line is the chorizo tacos and last but not least the chorizo torta. It’s not necessarily a restaurant, but more of a deli so if you’re looking to have a nice family outing I wouldn’t suggest it. Great prices for the food and quality, also an abundance of traditional Mexican snacks and beverages, totally worth your time and money.

Azteca is really one of Peekskill’s hidden gems, and we must have gone once a week for the last six months, although loved it for some years. The tacos are amazing and an excuse for their fresh pico de gallo, and the guacamole non-​parallel, and the prepared food changes daily with different Mexican pork, chicken and beef, not the same. The chicken soup is delicious and I’ve give it to my mother when ailing and she swears it has medicinal qualities. I just had the carrot cake from the deli case for my birthday, and he said they buy these individual desserts. Delicious! I had another piece of cake at lunch (I told you it was my birthday) at one of the popular local coffee spots and not as good. Next, I’m trying the tres leches…

Authentic, fresh, and great tasting! I had the spicy pork and fish tacos… thought about getting another round they were that good.

This is my first time ordering from Mercados Azteca & deli. I have to say everything I ordered was excellent and the food was so fresh and I really enjoyed the shrimp and I’m very picky about them the whole dinner was well worth it I will definitely go back there again we had it delivered and it was at our door in about 20 minutes you have to try this place it is excellent

my wife and i know and love the street food of ajijic in the state of jalisco. we are especially fond of tacos (in ajijic one must search out taqueria jessica!). Mercado Azteca compares *very* favorably with the best we’ve had there. the staff are warm and friendly, and the atmosphere home-​style and laid-​back. for the most part the clientele appear to be regulars. the prices are very fair: $ 10 for 3 tacos and a plate of rice and beans. we’ll be returning!

Best. Guacamole. Ever. It’s super fresh (mashed to order), chunky, perfectly balanced and just the right amount of spice. As I don’t live anywhere near Peekskill, I have been trying to find a guac in the city (from Black Ant through Toloache to authentic taquerias in Harlem) that comes close to Mercado’s but no luck so far. The tacos are also excellent — def. try the pig ear, goat or carnitas.

I love great hole-​in-​the-​wall places like this. Everything is delicious: from tortas to tamales to tacos (I know that’s only Ts but it’s all good — trust me). Very friendly service and really hits the spot when I’m missing some authentic (non-​tex-​mex) Mexican food.

This is my favorite Chinese restaurant in Peekskill. They delivery is extremely fast, and the food is both good and different. Doesn’t taste like the other places I have eaten. Aside from that they have a huge and diverse menu. Like to try new things and have yet to be disappointed.

This is a fantastic spot for lunch. It was a bit hard to find, but worth it. Between two adults and three kids we had tacos, sopes, stuffed sandwiches (cemitas) and pork chop wit rice and beans. All of it was tasty and very fresh. The surprise favorite was the vegetable tacos: a nice mix of veggies very nicely grilled.

Great authentic tacos! And they deliver which is awesome. $ 10 for three tacos and rice and beans? Yes, please! I am not one to stray much from chicken tacos but they have a large selection of other meats to enjoy.

I ordered the Barbacoa (goat), Camaron (shrimp), Oreja Arabe (pig ear), and Pollo (chicken) tacos with guacamole.

Those who are looking for a place to take the family for a sit down Mexican meal, this is not the place. It is a no frills convenience store that happens to have small food counter. Meanwhile, the food that they serve here is really good. You can expect to find some awesome tacos, quesadillas, tamales and some other things.
It is tucked into a corner of a small plaza, so it is somewhat set back from the main drag and might be easy to miss if you have not been here before. But, it is worth your time to spot it because those chorizo tacos served on a warm soft tortilla shell really hit the spot.

I’m usually very leery of these type os «authentic» hole in the walls as they can be a little too lax in the sanitation department. However Mercado Azteca straight up delievered in the food category. I had the tacos carnitas for lunch (delicious) and was so impressed I went back the following day to grab a torta cubana for dinner (incredible). This will be my new go-​to spot in Peekskill for a bite to eat. Highly recommended.

You walk into this unassuming little grocery and deli and have no idea that you are about to eat actual Mexican Food instead of the garbage that 99.9% of «Mexican» Places serve. I don’t even know where to start — the pig ear tacos? Cow tongue? The selection of soups and tamales? Maybe the horchata? Don’t take my word for it though, do yourself a favor and eat here. Don’t be afraid, everything is amazing, fresh made and legit authentic. I reccomend the pig ear tacos, melts in your mouth, cripsy and basically a heavenly experience.

A hidden gem!!! Probably the most authentic Mexican food you can find. You will get plenty of it too. I’ve ordered from here twice. First time I got the goat burrito and chicken tacos to share. Second time I just ordered a steak burrito with one chicken taco. Let me tell you that I have been to many Mexican restaurants including ones in NYC and this is by far the most authentic one. The burrito was loaded with meat and the green sauce on the size is amazing! The taco was very good as well. The guacamole was just incredible… way better than any place I’ve tried to date… puts Rubens me place down the street to shame… Great presentation touch to the authentic style. The prices are very reasonable. I ordered by phone the second time and the guy took my order with no problem and the good was at the door on about 30 mins. I will order again. I highly recommend this place. I have been inside as well and they have lots of Mexican groceries and goodies. They even have fresh guava fruits in the fridge! This was a huge plus for me :)

Omg the goat meat burrito is sooooo yummy! The options are endless the staff is polite the food is authentic and I’m in love! Ordered a small horchata and it isn’t as small as I imagined. Not too much ice. The meat is marinated well the salad is fresh. Thank you Mexican food god for sending me here. I will be back with friends.
