We have been going here for years. The wine is very good, not the best on the north fork but well priced and quite good. The winery itself is our favorite. They have a large field to bring a lunch and the whole family. They do sell some food, we never tried it. There is live music every weekend, which is often very good! We keep going back every year, do yourself a favor and give it a try.

What a beautiful setting and great service from everyone. Plenty of different areas to taste which helped spread everyone out for an enjoyable experience. All of the wine pourers were very friendly and knowledgable. I bought their Chardonnay, and forgive me but I drank it on the bus and forgot name, a red blend that was delightfully full bodied. Osprey gave me a taste of LI wines that made me want to come back and check out some of the competition.

Came here with a livingsocial voucher on 5÷22÷16 Sunday. The bartender had an attitude at this location and at first told us that we needed to stay at his bar for all 4 tastings. Ridiculous. Keep in mind the owner/manager told us on the bus that we could go to any bar we would like. It was a beautiful day outside so we wanted to be outside with EVERYONE else. After having a small discussion he chilled out and gave us plastic cups. The same plastic cups he could have gave us from the start to save this entire frustration. Not happy with the customer service from this bartender — unnecessary attitude from him. The wine itself is the only reason why I gave it more than 1 star. Their reisling is delicious. :) The location is beautiful.

Hopefully the winery’s won’t change as dramatically as the newspapers are reporting they will. Wine tours at $ 20.00+ and to eliminate a casual weekend with a glass of wine and some music would be a shame. However nobody will miss the tour buses or limos with the crowds they brought in.

My boyfriend and I purchased a gilt city voucher that included 3 wineries, this was the second one we visited – it didn’t disappoint! Karen took GREAT care of us-fully explained all of the wines, and was super friendly/helpful. The grounds were great-there was a fire pit outside and tables with umbrellas. There was also a live back playing near a gazebo and picnic tables-great atmosphere with the ability to buy wine on the premises, take it outside and picnic with what you’ve brought! Overall, great experience, great ambience, and a good value-we would definitely come back again!!!

Pretentious. Rude(thanks to bartender Megan). We went to several vineyards last weekend and this was the only one we were given attitude at. We had a decent size group(12?) and the bartender was basically«we have a larger group coming soon so you’ll need to step aside». While we were doing our 3 tastes that we paid for, after the first one, one of the bartenders(not sure her name) actually went to take the menus and asked us, «you ladies are done with your tastes, right?». Um, no, we each paid you for 3, you gave us each one. The big group of 50 hadn’t even walked through the door(except for their first wave of 3 – 4 people) when I ordered a chardonnay and the bartender Megan told me I had to wait«a few minutes» so she could start pouring tastes for the larger group. Thanks. We ate our food at the table, didn’t order anything else and just left. We would have stayed but clearly, they didn’t want our business. Awful service, terrible atmosphere and honestly, their wines aren’t that good.

RECOMMENDED My lovely and I chose to take a drive to the North Fork and spend a very Spring-like 50 something degree Saturday afternoon on 3⁄12 at this lovely vineyard. The chalet-like high ceiling room is surrounded by a large area of green grass which is suitable for picnics. There is ample parking. Unlike many other LI vineyards, this one allows food to be brought in. We chose a tasting of five wines($ 20.00 for the two of us with a small box of thin provolone cheese, pepperoni and crackers). This vineyard offers an extremely extensive selection of wines. I counted more than twenty. We enjoyed the 2010 Cabernet Franc, the 2010 Meritage Flight and the 2012 Carmenere. I purchased bottles of the Cabernet Franc($ 20) and Meritage Flight($ 28). For non-wine drinkers, the vineyard offers Greenport brewery beer products. We enjoyed Classic Rock and Irish tunes performed by the Mugger McGee Band. They played non-stop between 1 and 5, providing a great soundtrack to a memorable afternoon.

You have to PAY to play games in the yard, as if you’re not already paying enough. The wine I had tried was disgusting, along with the outside bathrooms which was only one for everybody there. I would never come here again. There’s not much more to tell.

We went to this vineyard on a tour which included three different stops. This was our very first stop. We pulled up and someone got on the bus to explain the tastings. He was funny and succinct, and we were very excited to get off the bus and try out some wines. This was the ONLY tasting that we attended where we couldn’t pick which wines we wanted to try. There was a preset list of four wines. Not only that, but the bartenders were fairly rude and condescending. One legitimately criticized us for not drinking fast enough and skipped ahead one wine before we asked her to go back. We had an hour at this stop and had been there for probably ten minutes when this happened. They served red and white wines in the same glass, which drove me nuts. At the other vineyards, they at least gave you the option to switch out the glassware after the tastings. At this place, they simply came over and poured your next glass without even greeting you. Most importantly, we didn’t like any of the four wines we tried. My drinking partner stated that the fourth glass of wine was one of their least favorites of all time, which is a huge statement coming from someone who drank wine out of a plastic bag for most of their college career. This place reminded me of the type of place where lots of people go in the summer to drink heavily and not care about taste. If that’s what you want, this is probably the perfect place for you. Otherwise, skip it. There are plenty of other vineyards in the area with better hospitality and better wine in general.

I really enjoy the Petit Verdot and the Sauvignon Blac. I love that they have an oyster bar outside and plenty of food options available. They also serve beer and sangria outside. I found the staff to be knowledgeable and friendly. This is an expansive vineyard with lots of outdoor seating and picnic areas. You can bring your own food. I think it’s fun that they have bags and can jam, but some will find this juvenile and«fratty.» They often have live music. The only downside of Osprey is that there are tons of tour buses coming in and out. Because it’s such a large place, they can accommodate them, but you may encounter a greater number of overly intoxicated party bus people.

Super laid back vibe, spacious outdoor area, and some decent wines that won’t kill your wallet. This place is all around solid… the staff could be a bit more informative though. Yesterday while having a tasting, the person behind the bar unfortunately had the personality of a potato. That aside, I had a great time as their outdoor area is very inviting. Also, they have a really delicious spiced wine, that is served hot. I’ll have to come back in the winter to really enjoy that!

Fun winery to come to with a group. They have a nice tasting room with a large variety of wines. Then outside they have a huge field in front of the vineyards with picnic tables and lawn games. You’re allowed to bring outside food so we brought a bunch of cheese and snacks and bought bottles of wine and just sat outside and enjoyed the day. They also have a live band outside and an oyster stand selling local oysters. Great way to spend a summer day!

It’s been a while since I’ve found a «new favorite» winery to visit, but this one is my new IT. I’ve once in the Spring and again this Summer and this is the coolest winery if you want to hang out with a group of friends, toss some corn hole, drink some tasty wine, and even snack on some fresh oysters! Both times here I’ve been equipped with a Groupon($ 20 — wine tasting for 2) but the prices of the bottles are really resonable and quite delicious. A tasting consists of 5 different wines of your choice, and after that, I ended up with a bottle of Chardonnay. The Sovereign Blanc was also one of my favorites! I was also able to have a taste of their spiced wine which was WOW! Amazing. I can’t wait to go back in the winter and have a glass of this warm spiced wine. They have a huge outdoor area full of picnic tables so there is bound to be a spot for everyone, even if you’re in a large group. They have a volleyball net set up which would be fun after a couple glasses of wine! This is one of the few wineries that allows outside food and the last time I was there I noticed they had a «Grill & Chill» area… it looked like they had little grills set up where you could bring your own charcoal and grill out! You wouldn’t have to leave! Love this place and it is also very close to a couple other awesome wineries. Check it out if you haven’t!

Great outdoor space, with live music, picnic benches overlooking vineyards. Tasted 8 different wines for $ 13 and 2 more our friends bought bottles for, so 10 wines total. Of those, we liked the Fume Blanc, Gerwurztaminer, and the Cabernet the best. We prefer California and Oregon wines to NY wines. We ADBHOR Pindar wines. I didn’t care for Duck Walk. So Osprey were better than Pindar. The Finger Lakes NY wines are better than Long Island wines, in my humble opinion. I have yet to have a great Long Island wine. Our group wound up buying 8 bottles. We noticed all the other tables had 1 bottle. Maybe they were good about tossing the empties right away. But I guess you can buy a bottle and milk it out for hours for your group — bring some homemade sandwiches. and have a pretty frugal day out here. Even if the wines are not terrific… it is still a fun experience… to try different wineries, picnic, listen to music, do some tastings. Even is the wine is not great — it is still a fun day.

Beautiful tasting room. Large, open, spacious. There was room for those standing and doing tastings as well as very nice tables for large groups to have wine and lunch. It was snowing when we came, so I did not get to see the outdoors portion. However through photos it looks beautiful. As for the wine. I wasn’t a fan. Nothing really did it for me. Very mediocre if that. If I was to come back here, it would be for the ambiance and company.

This place was packed during the off season I can only imagine how busy it’s going to be during the summer. The place has a large spacious field full of picnic that is surrounded by the endless fields of grape vines as far out into the distance as you can see. We did a groupon tasting which involved a tasting of 5 wines chosen from their expansive stocks, a meet and cheese plate and a couple of souvenir glasses. The most disappointing element of the groupon was their meet and cheese board which considered of vacuum sealed prepacked provolone and salami/prosciutto and a half sleeve of Ritz crackers. Disappointing compared to similar deals in the area but even if you ignore that completely the tastings of the wines were great, especially their dessert wines(I recommend the spiced wine, served warm and very unique, almost a cider). I recommend the trip, come with a picnic basket, pick up a couple of bottles of their wines and enjoy the sun.

A peaceful setting. A refined feeling. Attentive and knowledgeable staff. Just what you want in a winery. Well, this place is the complete opposite. It’s like the fist-pumping«Jersey Shore» of wineries. I kept expecting the pre-pregnant Snooki and JWoww to show up. The music was extremely loud and the people pouring the wine gave little assistance with selections. They were more akin to servers at your standard Applebee’s or Ruby Tuesday. Bonus: a very economical $ 5 tasting of three wines or $ 8 tasting of five wines. I really liked the unique-tasting Gewürztraminer.
