Steak ‘n Shake

I used to love eating here, because of the great food and shakes for an amazing price. But it appears that each time I go, the service and food gets worse. The «greeters» who sit you down are not welcoming whatsoever. The waiters seem to always get the orders wrong. The people who prepare the food don’t wear hair nets! This place is very dirty and it’s visible as soon as you walk in. I’ve been coming here for at least 2 years & they lost my business just within the last month of me going weekly. Definitely don’t recommend this place!

We received the absolute WOST service possible here at this location last night. Not only did it take them OVER 20 minutes to get our waters… But over 30 minutes for them to take our orders and that was because we flagged them down. Staff was very unprofessional. Our waiter was talking to the other waiters while I was ordering and even busted out laughing mid order and started talking to a coworker. We left highly disappointed. I would not recommend.

Some of my fries where cold like ice. Condiments are cold, iced tea not tasting like tea, I observed a mouse running across my table booth, very sloppy service and worst of all the milk shakes aren’t made out of milk it’s made of water and white food coloring.

I have been to this location several times… but the last time about a week ago was my last visit to this location. Every time I try them again it is the same. Everything was horrible: food Service, dirty bathrooms, unfriendly, Food came to the table cold. I will drive the extra distance to the location on 45 close to Nasa. It’s worth the drive! I gave this location only 0ne star only because it would not take my review with no stars.

When I first pulled up to Steak and Shake I was surprised at their prices. I expected it to be pretty pricey but that was not the case. I ended up having the Number 4 with Cajun fries and was really satisfied. The burger was delicious but nothing out Of the ordinary. Their fries are was blew me away and the reason for 5 stars. The drive thru time wasn’t so bad and the service was excellent.

I came to this location about 1pm on a Tuesday. I didn’t have to wait long and the food was pretty good. I was craving a nice burger and it definitely did the job. I’ll go again.

Good food, horrible drive thru! Not only did it take them at least 30 minutes to get to my order (only had two cars in front of me), the person manning the drive thru was horrible. Not only was she rude, but she also didn’t give me any napkins or ketchup. I usually let it slide but my experience was something else.
The inside is pretty nice though. Haven’t had issues with the waiters.

We just moved in the area and this is our fav spot for a good burger.
The wait is always longer than your typical fast food place but the food makes up for that and some.
The prices are also very much affordable.

The longest wait ever for food in the drive thru. 20 minutes!!! Once I got food it was cold and not even fit to eat.

Gosh, I really used to like this place but today was a big disappointment. I drove through to get my husband a chocolate shake. I ordered and drove up to the window. I said «hi!» To the cashier and she ignored me. Ok that’s fine. I paid her with a $ 5 bill, and she dropped my change in my hand spilling the coins. She looked out her window and said «Oops, your quarter fell, it’s right there, it’s reachable.» What? I squeezed out of the car and there on the ground was a lot of change. I guess I’m not the first person this has happened to. I asked for the manager and told her what happened. I explained to her that one reason people drive through is because sometimes they can’t get, or don’t want to get out of the car. She apologized and said «you should have told her to go get the money for you.» She meaning the young woman clerk. No, you need to retrain your employees how to properly hand change to customers. I told her that apparently wasn’t an option as the young woman told me to get it. No apology from the clerk at all. What happened to courtesy?

This was my first time visiting this particular restaurant, and I was not disappointed. The burger was juicy and well seasoned. It was better than I was expecting. Also, the shakes are to die for. I suggest either the vanilla or the birthday cake. They were so good. I’ll definitely be back, once I lose the weight I gained from this first visit haha

Good food, good atmosphere, and great prices.
The garlic burger and patty melt are my favorites. The food is always hot and fresh and comes to you quickly. And the shakes are so good! We have never had bad service either.

Waited an hour and 6 minutes in the drive thru with only 3 cars ahead of me. And they still managed to screw up my order.

There are two words that describe this Steak ‘n Shake location: Absolute Garbage.
This is my second and last visit to this location. The service was awful and the food was trash.
Went through the drive thru at 8:30 on a weekday with only 1 car ahead of me and it took 25 minutes to get my order which was also incorrect.
Ordered a Double Cheeseburger Meal with extra cheese. What I got was a double burger with absolutely nothing on it besides the bun and meat. I repeated the order at monitor and also at the window as well and it was still screwed up. Both people who I interacted with were in foul moods and did not want to be working.
The worst part of this experience was the burger itself. I’ve eaten at Steak ‘n Shake well over 100 times all across the country and I’ve never seen a burger come out looking like this one. It was undercooked as well and I was unable I finish more than 3 bites before giving up and deciding to stay hungry.
Do yourself a favor and avoid this location like the plague.

So I’ve never been in here before but since I’m watching a small group of kids (4) we decided to come in. It took us 15 minutes to get seated because the hostess was trying to clean a booth for us. She didn’t have time to clean the wet, nasty floor so we we waited for another table to be cleaned that at least only had trash on the floor that could be swept. We were seated waited a while to order then tried to go to the restroom. We couldn’t even make it to the door because there was a trail of feces on the floor! That’s right I said feces. Apparently the staff knew about it because they covered the larger amount of the feces with wet floor caution sign. Unbelievable!!!
And then when I addressed the «manager», Jenell, she just walked away while I was talking to her. She was making excuses that the place is dirty because they’re busy. It’s inexcusable.

The prices are very low, but that is because the portions are small – which makes sense. Service is horrible – no one seems friendly. The food took quite some time to come out. When it did come out, our sides were missing. We had to flag the waitress down and by the time she brought our sides out, we were already paying for the bill. It took 15 minutes to wait for someone to take our money and when he came, he didn’t acknowledge us or smile.
The food is okay, but then again, it’s worth the money – 2 adults and 2 kids for $ 18! Pretty good deal. Every $ 8 spent is a free kid’s meal ($ 3). The shakes are good!

For every $ 8 you spend a kid eats free!
Parents on a budget, perfect!
Over all it’s pretty inexpensive. The folks were friendly. Food is good. However, they never came by to clear our table.

I like the garlic burger and the frisco burger.

Meh. This place is definitely better than a fast food drive thru kind of place but definitely not as good as it could be. They have $ 4.00 combos that do not include drinks. The burger had all your usual bits and the only reason I would rate it better than your typical Mcdonald’s burger is the fact that it has fresh decent veggies! The lettuce was fluffy and green and tomato was red and juicy. The fries were okay. The place seemed dirty and the staff seemed tired! It was 10pm but still don’t make me feel bad for stopping by late. I wouldn’t waste my calories on this again but will try a milkshake, they look soooo good!

Double Cheeseburger and Fries deal for $ 4? Amazing! You pay more than that at McDonald’s, Burger King etc and those places are crap!
I personally think the Double Cheeseburger tastes the same as the Tavern Double from Red Robin except it’s half the price. It’s a no brainer!
If you like Red Robin you’ll like this place better because it’s cheaper and you still get the restaurant feel.
