I signed my husband and I up 2 weeks ago and have been totally happy so far. We’ve held memberships with all the big commercial gyms over the years at one point or another. While this place doesn’t have a big lap pool, spin class and a huge group exercise room packed with people, it’s perfect. It has everything you need to get an awesome workout. The machines are all cybex and in perfect condition. Nothing is broken and I imagine if it was, the GM Brian would have it fixed immediately. Someone is ALWAYS cleaning something there… it’s so spotless it shines. The temperature is always comfortable which means a lot to me after using the 24 downtown which always felt like a sauna upstairs. I really can’t say enough nice things about it so far!

This place has everything that you need in a small, condensed space. There are very few people there at any given time, the place is nicely temperatured controlled and best of all, there’s no loud, bad music blasting your ear drums off(you actually have control over the TVs and music). All unlike those bigger gyms that has a bunch of stuff you don’t even need or use. When you visit this place, ask if your company has a relationship with them as you could get a lower monthly rate as I did. This place is more than, say, Fitness Connection, but you get what you pay for. All the machines have always been working unlike the connection, nice/friendly staff, staff actually knows fitness and how to train, machines are in great shape and not worn, place is clean, and best of all, they are truly open 24⁄7. I originally joined the connection because they were 24⁄7 but then their policy changed and now the only one by me that is 24⁄7 is in Pasadena; not the one I wanted to go to since I live closer to their Almeda location. Anyhow, that’s why I wanted to change gyms; got tired of the bad hours, dirty workout areas, unfriendly staff, ghetto people yelling while working out, torn/broken equipment, have to contact the corporate office and mail letters to make any change to your account, etc. Keep in mind this place is not a full service gym. They do offer a mini-boot camp and yoga a few nights a week but that’s not their intent. If you want group classes then you’ll need to go to a big chain gym and pay a lot more. If you want the basic exercise/workout equipment that’s open 24⁄7 in a nice, comfortable setting, pay them a visit. You can go to their website for a free 7 day pass too.
