Great food. Great service. The Wiener schnitzel is wonderful as are their sausages. Everyone enjoyed the different plates we got.

Love coming here. Really makes me miss my family in Germany. The food and beer is excellent but the service is even better. Held a company function here and Philipp was incredible to work with. So accommodating and our guests had a great time.

Good beer, good food and great atmosphere. True it’s not a German bier garden but you guessed it. We’re in Texas. This place is great fun with a lot to choose from. If you don’t have fun when you are here then you didn’t try. Prost

If you’re ever in the mood for German food and German music, King’s Biergarten is the place to be. It’s especially great if you’re thirsting for a wide variety of German libations. Don’t forget the giant beer pretzel as well. The prices are a little high, but the portion sizes of the food justify the price. Plus you get live music on the weekends. On cold days, the Gluehwein(warm German wine) is the perfect drink to warm you up. The place looks small on the outside, but there is a lot on the inside. Plus the waitstaff is dressed in traditional German attire. Give it a try for yourself and see what you think.

Beer is wonderful, food sucks. Would be nice to have a great combination of both. Servers are nice and service is great.

The beer menu is good and they will advise you of which beer to get to suit your taste type. And the beers are HUGE! The entrees are underwhelming but the hot cheese sausage is definitely worth a trip. The staff is very friendly but often inattentive.

I’m not gonna slam this place, because I don’t like German food, we had about 25 – 30 peeps meet up here for a our Christmas dinner, food was ok, if you like this kind of food. However everytime I pass this place, multiple weekly or even daily, that place is ALWAYS packed.

I’ve grown up German and never can cook like grandma. This place nails it. Everything is so flipping good! I have been here countless times and every time I walk away happy and full with leftovers! Fun music always playing. Kids love it here. People watching for days trying huge beers and all of a sudden becoming German themselves. Make sure to check in for the free pretzel! I can’t say enough good things about it. Just go and take the whole family.

Love the atmosphere in this place it’s old school Europe flare is cool. The wings are smoked and delicious, meat samplers and the sausage choices are very food. However the burger is disappointing frozen patty from Walmart and service lacks at times. Always out of beer, I come here two times a week and they run out of popular beer on tap like Optimator. Love Hans and Phillip but they need to step up on the burger and beer thing.

This place is great for large parties, has great live music during the evenings, and serves decent German beer by the liter and half liter. But, their food is less than par. I’ve tried eating here countless times and always seem so disappointed when I should’ve learned by now to simply stick to the beer.

Everything here is delicious. My husband and I have been here multiple times and the food has always been great. I usually get the Wiener schnitzel with the jäeger sauce on the side. I like to have my schnitzel breaded since the actual jäegerschnitzel does not come breaded. The spaetzle, sauerkraut and brats and other sausages are all mouthwatering. Of all of the German restaurants we have been to, my husband said this is pretty much like the food he had when he went to Germany. That right there tells you about the authenticity of this place. King’s Biergarten also has a great selection of German beers!

My wife and I had lunch today here. The service was slow but I am somewhat understanding because they are preparing for Octoberfest this evening. The cook(or my waitress) forgot to cook our meals. I had to ask where our food was and that’s when the cook started cooking them .I ordered the same thing as last time(Reuben with spaetzle) and it didn’t have the same zing as last time. I’m sorry but this was probably the last time I will visit the establishment.

I love this place! Food & beer variety, spacious, live music, nice souvenirs, smoking allowed in back area, reasonable serving sizes as well as price, and I didn’t really put much attention but looked clean all around. I enjoyed it.

Really enjoyed the food here !!! Great menu with tons of traditional German favorites. I had the jaeger schnitzel, with nuernberger bratwurst, grilled bratwurst, red cabbage, and German potato salad. Everything was phenomenal and the service was great. There is a full bar with a lot of German beer on tap.

The sign outside this kitschy, Toscano-catalog-decorated, faux-castle– –in-a-parking-lot-in-a-south-Texas-suburb says that it was voted the best German restaurant in America. Having lived in Europe and traveled extensively in Germany and Austria, I’m here to tell you that, if that’s true, then clearly Americans know nothing whatsoever about good German(nor, for that matter, Austrian) food, but Kings Biergarten can still be a fun place to visit. Any place that sells good German beers by the liter and half liter is already half way to awesome in my book, and hats off to the(amusingly be-costumed) wait staff, who did a truly heroic job of handling our enormous group, and divided up a bewildering array of separate checks accurately and efficiently, all while wearing lederhosen – really impressive. Some of the things on the food menu looked and sounded like they would be really good – in particular, a gigantic bone-in pork shank(which apparently is half-price on Monday nights) is something I would like to go back to try – but many of the true staples of Teutonic tastiness that one would expect to reliably schmeck at any moderately capable German restaurant sadly fell short of even notable goodness, much less greatness, and were definitely a world away from«best in America.» The schnitzels(pounded, lightly battered and deep-fried crisp pork and chicken cutlets) were OK at best, and ditto the sides. Spätzle(traditional, rustic boiled noodle-dumplings) are a treat when you find good ones, but these were beyond bland as they are devoid of any kind of traditional butter, pork fat or gravy assist. Most disappointing, though, were the wurst. The signature contribution to world cuisine of the Germanic people is the flesh of a gluttonous, cloven-hooved barnyard animal, diced, spiced, and crammed back up its own rectum – humble peasant fare, to be sure, but done well, transcendently delicious. At King’s, they get points for offering«bratwurst» and«weisswurst,» but, flavor-wise, they are not the best, and the rest of the menu features a Czech sausage, a spicy chicken sausage and a spicy Texas something something – far afield from authenticity, and also not great. Inside, there is air conditioning; outside, in the«Biergarten,»(a covered porch around a fairly standard rectangular Texas patio bar), it can be insufferably hot, and having some poor schmoes grinding away on an accordion and various other oompa-instrumentation while leading the locals in far-too-frequent drunken shout-choruses of «zicke zacke zicke zacke hoi hoi hoi» just does not qualify as anything close to real German ambiance, sorry. The Sachertorte and Strudel are an embarrassment even for a tacky, 150-seat theme park restaurant in the ‘burbs, and utterly unworthy of the ancient and noble lineage of their respective family names. So, in short, go to Kings to have fun drinking beer with your friends, but don’t expect much better than typical, suburban-American, German-themed street-festival fare. Despite what the sign says, it’s not the best of the wurst. El Rauncho Grande

Every year for the month of August, they have the Wurstfest, the sausage fest. For 9.95 $ all you can eat specialty sausages, it’s a great deal! The staff were efficient & friendly. We were a group of 22 people but everything went smoothly with the exception of a few minor hiccups. I had the king’s cauldron which in my opinion is not worth it. It’s basically a huge sex on the beach. I’m not a huge fan of the sweet drinks anymore, while they were great in your 20’s, you eventually evolve to more distingued drink options!

This place is corny in the perfect way. Over-the-top tacky décor and architecture(ill add a photo soon) and strong commitment to how we like to imagine all German people dressing all the time. Live polka band was actually really good. To be honest the beers were just average. They had ~8 German beers on tap but they were pretty standard, nothing unique or higher end. Basically all the regular lagers and wheat beers… kromahcber pils etc. No bocks, no doppelbocks. I would have liked to see some harder to find in the U.S. options like Oettinger or at least something that was not just an everyday german lager, pils, or wheat. At any rate I loved the atmosphere and the friendly environment. Pretzels also have room for improvement but at the end of the day«yay i’m a fan». It’s a fun place to get some true german brews and not take life too seriously for a night. One note: they offer small sized beers not offered on the menu I saw so you do not have to commit to ½ or full liters unlike my local german garten back in DC. NOTE: some one is messaging me claiming they had 18 beers… maybe there’s a separate bar in another room or they were out of stuff when i went? dunno just reporting what i saw and what i was offered !

Love this place! This was my first trip for the Sunday brunch. Always a great experience here! They have expanded and everything is very nice and very professionally done. It looks fantastic! Brunch was great. I got the hangover sandwich, it was amazing and worth every penny! Can’t recommend this place highly enough!

A rowdy group of 820 somethings, and girls in dirndls? Liters of beer, and a total sausage fest(in terms of food AND company)? This place is GREAT. Definitely more of a group outing than place you’d go with one other person for dinner. Don’t get me wrong, the food is absolutely fantastic and not a joke for somewhere that serves a whole lotta sausage and cabbage. First off, there is the beer. Lots of variety that is imported and on draft. There is typically 2 – 3 of each style(Pilsner, Dunkel, etc) available in ½ liters(so a bit over a pint) or a liter… yes a liter. The thing was bigger than my head. And yes, as I am NOT a lady I had a liter of beer… and a half liter… and slept really well. Checking in got us a pretzel for free, and we also had a bunch of sausage, and the standout of the group, the Lumberjack bread. This was intriguing as it had a creamcheese spread(which we of course called Lipitor Spread), smoked pork slices, dill pickles and then dollops of mustard and horseradish to pile on, were absolutely mindbogglingly good for something that sounds like a mishmash. Our group had the Hans’ half chicken, Jaeger Schnitzel(chicken and pork), and the Hungarian Goulash. The mushroom and white wine sauce was absolutely mouthwatering, not too thin not too think, perfectly sauteed mushrooms, thinly pounded chicken. The spaetzle on the side was a little bland so I mixed it into the ample amount of sauce on my plate. The red cabbage was perfectly sweet with a little hint of vinegar. I tried a piece of the beef in my coworkers goulash, and it was the most tender beef i have had, which just fell apart in my mouth. I recommend this for a fun night out, and good news is they are expanding even more!
