I remember the days when Payless had cheap shoes and good deals. Nowadays it’s a bit pricey with a few good deals. Too bad I used to really like this store.

You know I love payless shoes but this store pissed me off! The worker was so damn rude! I come to pick up boots that I have already paid for I give her my I’d and she tells me to sign a paper then goes to get them. well from past experience I do not sign for anything before I see them and she had the worst attitude about it when I picked up the boot she snatched it back from me!!! I don’t understand the issue! I paid for it! She saw my ID! I couldn’t believe her nerve! So who ever is working on 12÷7÷14 at 4:30pm what ever is her name is. I’d advise management to speak with her. Even my husband got offended. Never shopping here again and will tell family and friends to avoid this store too!

For a store that’s called Payless the shoe prices sure don’t reflect it. Some of the shoes are kind of expensive for brands that are supposed to be on the cheaper side. I’ve bought shoes of better quality for cheaper prices so I don’t normally like to shop here. The only reason why I would go here is because they have a good selection of «wide» fit flats but they’re expensive. Let’s just say this is my last resort shoe store when I’m in need of shoes.

Since when did Payless Shoesource change their name? I could have sworn I was walking into Payless, not Paymore. When this store came to Hawaii, I think I was in intermediate school. Back then, it really did seem that the prices were lower than what you’d expect to pay elsewhere. Since then, it’s changed. Payless as a brand name is frankly a little bit like false advertising. «Cheap» is all relative, I suppose… the prices in here are cheap compared to what you’d pay at Nordstrom, I guess. But that’s not the freaking point, now is it? Shoes in here can run anywhere up to almost $ 40. How is that a bargain? These are for Payless brands, nothing fancy or well-made. Some of the styles are cute — I do stop in every now and then to browse — but I don’t spend a dime unless they have a BOGO going on or something is on sale. Even the kids shoes can be a little ridiculous. You’re better off going to Walmart for kids shoes and saving some money. I do like knee-highs, and Payless has a selection of some cute ones. Some cute shoelaces, too. The bags are really cheap looking and some of the hair accessories(especially the BRASH line they carry) is super cute. Other than that, nah… if you’re looking for cheap shoes, this prolly ain’t the place.

Went in to buy shoes for the kids to complete their Halloween costumes. I’m not a fan of Payless, but sometimes you have to search for lower prices to fit the tribe. You’ll find your basic shoes of medium quality durability. But with growing kids, by the time the shoes are ready to bust, it’s usually time to buy new ones anyway. On the day I went in, there was one woman working the entire store. She was doing the best she could considering there were at least a dozen customers buzzing around in the store. I give the woman props, but she should have had a co worker to help ease the load.

Normally I don’t let shitty retailers(where I thank them & they say«you’re welcome» when it should be the other way around…) get to me, but when you’re just plain lazy, that’s too much for me to handle! I found a size and style I wanted, then noticed up on the top shelf(all the extra pairs), there was another color that I was interested in and would probably purchase. This other color was not on the rack within my reach. I asked the worker if she could get the box down for me; she was on a short ladder, scanning boxes(inventory?) and I was the only customer in the store. She comes down from her ladder, looks at the shoe I want from the very top and tells me «let me check the computer to see if we have anymore»… Are you dumb or just plain stupid & lazy!!! Get your frickin’ shoe box stick/picker out and grab the box I pointed to!!! She kinda caught herself, she realized she didn’t need the computer, so she went to get the stick, it was too short. Then she pulls her coworker from the back to get a longer stick/picker and get the pair of shoes that I was interested in. This coworker’s name was Tiva. Tiva was more than happy to assist me while her dumb coworker went back to scanning boxes. Tiva also suggested a few other styles that were popular sellers. As Tiva rang me up, she was greeting other customers who had walked in. Tiva apologized for her coworker and definately made me feel like a valued customer. Thank you Tiva! Hey Lady who was too lazy to get my pair of shoes down from the very top shelf, STEPUPYOURGAME, you end up working in retail for a reason and it’s definately not your personality or stellar work ethics… There’s lots of other people that can do a better job than you!

My 2 year old is turning into Yokozuna right before my eyes. Her feet look like two walking sausages. Not dainty pitter-patters. More like stomp-stomp! Grrr! Thank goodness I can just pop into Payless and find a pair of sandals that fit her in the meantime. This store in Pearl Highlands doesn’t get as much traffic as the store at Pearlridge uptown. Looks like they carry more wide widths and half sizes too. Or maybe it’s just that the store at Pearl Highlands doesn’t seem as messy to me and I can find stuff more easily. Customer service is hit or miss, though. But I guess I’m just helping myself to the shoes anyways? They do offer a 10% military discount!

I had two great experiences at this payless store. Their customer service is excellent! I’d been looking for some comfortable black leather work shoes for over 2 months now and finally was able to find some here(and at less than half the price of a few other places/brands!) I told the sales associate what I was looking for and she recommended three brands. I purchased two pairs because I couldn’t decide and tried them both out(at home!) and was able to exchange the pair that didn’t fit as comfortably without a problem. The sales associate who helped me the second time let me know that they can order special sizes(wide width) in store for you so you don’t have to pay shipping! Their return policy is pretty flexible but if you’ve worn the shoes I don’t think you can return/exchange. But it never hurts to ask maybe they can give you store credit or something especially if you’re returning the shoes because they give you blisters! Because I told them I work in town, they let me know that the Ala Moana location actually has a larger selection of work shoes and that’s what they’re know for at that store. Which I thought was really cool of them because you’d think they’d want to keep all their customers to themselves but they really just want you to be able to find what you’re looking for! I’ve already started telling all my co-workers(who have been privy to my comfy work shoe search)(and who all wear $ 100+ work shoes) that I’ve found the Chamber of Secrets for affordable work shoes and it’s Payless!

I used to LOVE shopping at Payless for years until prices went up. They keep everything in order and neat. They usually have a huge selection of shoes, sandals, boots, slippers etc. I always like to come in and browse but always notice I can find shoes similar to these cheaper elsewhere.

I remember way back in my youth shopping at this place for all my shoes and slippers. They do have some good deals on decent shoes and sandals. Even though they are no the popular name brand kind of shoes that everyone wears or wants to see people wearing, they still get the job done as far as just having and wearing a decent pair of footwear. They always have some sort of special going on for footwear. They have both men’s, women’s, and kids footwear. The staff and customer service is good. This one is conveniently located in the Pearl Highlands shopping complex next to Gamestop, the one pet store, etc. There is a ton of parking around the area unless you just so will happen to come on a hecka busy day like on a weekend or holiday or during the holiday season. One thing I like about at the store is that they have most of the shoes lined up already so you don’t have to ask an associate for help in getting a pair unless it’s way high up. Most of the time you can help yourself in trying them on and stuff. Unilocal 365 Challenge #164/365
