Damo Sushi forever deserves five stars, I love this place. I was only introduced to Damo Sushi last year and I’ve been hooked since then. It’s a very convenient location at Pearl City Shopping Center; featuring Longs, Dave’s Ice Cream, Chuck E. Cheese, and even Ben Franklin Crafts. Parking is fairly easy with the large lot, even on busy days. I’ve never had a bad experience here and I hope that it never comes to that, I love Damo. Shh, don’t tell the other sushi joints. Every single trip that I’ve made here, we are always helped by the same cashier, and I’m very thankful that she is friendly. Customer service is a big thing to me and it can honestly be a turn-off for future visits. The atmosphere is cute with their decorations around the restaurant. They also sell drinks(Arizona Green Tea + Herbert’s Lemonade) and also sides from Kim-Chee #7. The menu contains different types of sushi and combinations, although I do stick with my favorites and hardly venture out of the norm. My order tends to always contain a bowl and some type of roll. My go to is a small spicy ahi bowl, and it’s so so so fresh. I love that it is made right in front of you! It tastes so pure because it’s not drowned in sauce, like other places. Although the prices are a tad higher, it’s completely worth it in my eyes because of the quality of the fish. When you’re craving a good spicy ahi bowl, make your way to Damo.

This is my all time favorite sushi joint! My favorite roll to get is the Spicy caterpillar, I’ve been getting this for years!(Sometimes I have to get 2 plates because it’s that good!) Located conveniently on Kam HWY right next to Longs and Ben Franklin Crafts. Most of their regular plates come with miso soup, which is very tasty. They have an AMAZING house dressing for the side salads. The owner is so so friendly and recognizes us every time we come in! She’s so sweet :) It’s best to call ahead to place your order in case they are busy and backed up, sometimes they actually thank you for calling ahead haha. The portion size is perfect, I’m never too full but always satisfied. Highly recommend!

Came here AGAIN for dinner. Had my usual Salmon Skin crunch with miso soup and Neil had the Damo Pack B which included shrimp tempura, spam, meat jun AND Teri beef.

My go to spot for market fresh fish. They go to the auctions to get it, and it is soooo… good. I don’t even want to use too much shoyu. Spicy ahi topped with sashimi(called The Hawaiian), this comes with miso soup, about 5 edamame and a little salad with shoyu and mayonnaise dressing for about $ 13.

Must try their kimchee and daikon. It’s usually in the refrigerator to the left of the cash register, by the drinks.

Had dinner at Damo Sushi, next to Longs and Chuck E. Cheese in Pearl City, tonight. My best dinner out in a long time. The customer service was awesome — deserving a 10⁄10. My son freely expresses his needs and wants. While we were reviewing the menus posted around — took a long time for us to decide what we wanted because everything looked good — he was grumbling about water. The cashier immediately made him a cup of water without being asked and before we even ordered. She also helped us make an order that was economical, by suggesting that we order the combo poke salad, instead of ordering two mini poke salads. The food quality, also, 10⁄10. The fish was fresh and she showed my husband the fish prior to mixing it with the sauce to show its freshness. The salad was also fresh, no brown lettuce. Ikura was natural — some restaurants soak it in something when the quality isn’t good. The udon noodles soaked just right that the noodles itself has the flavor. Food taste 10⁄10. My favorite part was the when you eat the poke, every so often you get that little piece of Hawaiian Salt that enhances the flavor. The sauce was just right as to not overpower the freshness of the fish. The place can be pricey, but I find it worth it because you get great customer service, food quality and taste. I HIGHLYRECOMMENDTHISPLACETOOTHERS. That says a lot, because if it was mediocre then I would tell you that you need to try for yourself.

Newly remodeled and they have such a variety of sushi rolls and options for party platters! Service is great of course cause it’s such a small hole in the wall. My favorite rolls are the lobster and tiger rolls. They’re around $ 12.00 but they fill you up. They also have a 50 piece nigiri platter with the shrimp, ahi, egg and salmon and the little makis for only $ 28.95. Definitely my spot if I don’t feel like waiting for a seat at Genki!

I gotta give this place 5 stars. It’s getting more yummier every time I go. Whenever I’m out in Pearl Ctiy I try to stop by here. The people that work here are pretty nice, the place is clean and the fish is fresh. I also like it is because there are some tables and chairs so you can relax and dine in. Once I tried some chicken plate but it was just ok. Nigiri sushi is what I come here for.

This is a good spot for some quick sushi. It’s very fresh and the poke nachos are amazing. Just a couple tables and if you ask nicely it’s BYOB.

I found out about Damo Sushi in the Pearl City Shopping center from my co workers who always bought poke salad from there. They said that Damo had a very delicious salad so I had to try it. This is my second time eating here and eating the poke salad and it was so good I had to post a review. I ordered the Miso Poke Salad… and all I can say is Ono! A lot of flavor, fresh, and very refreshing. I also tried the Inari sushi and Spicy Maki which was average. They also have bentos which I have to try next.

Today was my first time to Damo Sushi. I was hesitant because the reviews were either really good or really bad. I will say that I was pleasantly surprised with this little restaurant. Friendly customer service from the lady at the counter. The menu is extensive and I had a hard time deciding what to eat. I chose the Tiger Ahi bowl which is baked salmon and spicy ahi on sushi rice. Winnahz! The portion was okay for me, even considering I didn’t eat breakfast! The food here is a little pricey. This dish will cost you $ 9.95 but I would go back and buy it again! The wait was about 10 minutes. 5 stars for good food, clean establishment, friendly service!

Our family loves to eat here, there is something for everyone. The owners are super friendly and welcoming. Recently I ordered a shrimp tempura bowl and it came with 10 shrimp! Wowsas! I love their creamy dressing they put on their shrimp it’s soo ONO. I’m not a poke fan, but the fam loves their fusion and poke salads. They get it every time. This spot is definitely worth checking out while you’re sitting in Kam. Hwy traffic. The new renovations make it a cool oasis from the blazing heat.

If you want good sushi, Kalbi or meat jun, this is the place! It’s a bit pricey, but WORTH every penny! Meat cuts are soft not chewy! Sushi is superb and sauces are top notch!

I really love the new rennovations they did on the place! It has that nice comfortable and refreshing feel to it. The ambience of the place feels really nice. The place is also very clean, and well kept. Now onto the sushi :) I always love eating nigiri and their nigiri is super fresh. I really love the salmon one because it tastes so tender it has a creamy texture to it when you bite into it. I also like their specialty rolls and today I tried the Spicy tiger. It was great, hands down! Can’t wait to try their other rolls. I feel that their prices are also pretty reasonably priced for the quality of sushi I get.

They like to close well before their stated business hours. You’ve got to love that, especially when you’re hungry. I see them inside, all the lights off except in the kitchen area, the open sign is off, the hours on the door say they’re open until 8:30pm and they see me at the door looking back at them! What a majorly pathetic fail. To the owner: learn to tell time or learn to like watching customers, and their money, walk away. Update: The owner replied and was very apologetic. I won’t go back. But that was kind of him.

This place caught my interest based on a sign that I saw while driving to Walmart Pearl City one day. 20% off regular poke bowls and fresh fish from the Honolulu Auction. A discount AND fresh fish??? Okay, you caught me Damo Sushi. Unfortunately, I didn’t have time that day to stroll in, but I made it a point to bookmark them on Unilocal. When I finally did get a chance to get back there, I was so excited! My problem at most sushi places is that EVERYTHING always looks so good. I decided to go wtih the poke bowl since they were offering a limited time discount on them. When I saw salmon and spicy ahi paired together in a poke bowl, I was immediately sold! My two LOVES! I guess I made it sound so good that my brother decided to get one, too(even though he hadn’t planned to order anything prior to coming). The wait for our food was not long at all. I must say that the woman who took our order was extremely friendly. I’m not sure that she speaks English fluently because another woman from the back had to come out to help answer some questions that we had about the menu, but you can still generally hold a conversation with her. We found out that they’ve only been open for a few months. There’s a small eating area inside, but we decided to take our food home. Verdict? The spicy ahi was yummy! The salmon… well…I actually got worried that I might get sick from it. Luckily I didn’t. I ate one piece that tasted a little weird. I ate another one to confirm the taste. And the genius that I am continued to eat the other pieces… don’t ask me why because they all had a VERY unusual taste. But yes, every piece did in fact taste weird. I’m hoping that it was a one time occurrence, but I’m not going to risk trying their salmon again. I was going to give them 3 stars for this, but because of their friendly service, delicious spicy ahi, and generous amount of food(I actually couldn’t finish the whole bowl so I saved it for the next day and it was just as good!)…I decided to give them one more star. I do plan to go back to possibly try their rolls… though I do think I want to stay away from the salmon. This makes me so sad because I LOVE salmon. When I try this place again, I’ll probably update this review to give a better overview of the place.

I have now had poke bowls from here on 2 different occasions. The first time I tried the spicy and also tried the wasabi mayo. The fish was very fresh to say the least. The spicy was pretty good and the wasabi mayo was pretty strong! The bowls came with a free side of won ton each. Having had a good experience the first time, I stopped by the next week while doing some shopping and this time I tried the wasabi miso poke bowl. This one is easily the best one I’ve had yet. The wasabi miso sauce is very tasty and the fish was fresh again. I’ll definitely be stopping by again the next time I’m doing some shopping.

This place should be renamed Ghetto Sushi. The sushi sucks. I got the aloha sushi set and the garlic salmon roll. The quality of the ingredients is so junk and its like someone just slapped them together without care. I wouldn’t choose to eat here again, I only walked in because I was famished. The cashier was nice though and helpful. However I paid a little over $ 25 for some really junk, dry, old, ugly sushi. To make matters worse, another customer stole my drink that I set down while I stepped outside for two minutes to answer a phone call. When I walked back in he was holding it in his hand like it was his. I guess he didnt think i would be back to get it? Errrrrm. Okay.

pro: combo meal portions were good and the food was tasty. I would go back again. The Teri combo with the meat jun, Teri, and chicken was yummy. I like how they improved the atmosphere there by adding music. The salad dressing in the combo meal was good and I like the wonton. I always seem to have enough share. Great day would be getting takeout plate lunch from here and heading to the park for a picnic.

Ordered their baked salmon sushi which was pretty good. Sushi roll came with side of few pieces of edamame and side salad with ono miso dressing. Portions are quite small and it’s a bit pricey here. The poke bowls here look good. Gonna come back next time for their poke bowls.
