Wingard Urgent Care and Wellness, LLC

PLEASE avoid this place by any means necessary. This is NOT an urgent care center, wait times are the exact time of an emergency wait, a complete lie told on the website about the turn around time even with an appointment scheduled. I had an 11am appointment and wasn’t called back unil 1pm. No help from the office manager. .very rude guy and uncaring untrained staff. The only sense of urgency they had was to collect the payment prior to being called back. Known for being short staffed of doctors regularly after speaking to locals. Again this experience was equivalent to a nightmare. Once called back in a room another long wait before the doctor came in and the level of care was comparable to a doctor’s office in the clinician stages (entry level classroom learning) Combined with the quality care and wait time one would have thought Dr. Oz was in the building. Don’t let this well manicured facility and location fool you. You will get better service at a horrible place like Grady… take my advice find a better care service with a higher level if service to their patients.

–Note its physician owned but that does not mean a physician works there. There was not one in the building.

Great staff! The facility is state of the art, but the people are patient, friendly, and very helpful. I’m normally nervous about switching doctors, but now I’m so glad I did! I tell everyone about them.

This was a very nice facility. I was greeted walking in the door –quick paperwork. I was brought to a room in probably 5 — 10 minutes. The staff was really riendly and knowledgeable. The Dr. solved my problem and I was out the door in about 45−1hr. There was no problem with getting my insurance right. If I ever move back to Atlanta I would consider Dr. Bennett for primary care (I learned that they do that)…you never want to have to go to the dr’s office when you are out of town but this worked out well. Thanks Wingard for taking care of me in a pinch.

Very convenient, friendly staff, clean facilities, easy in and out.
I was 7 days into severe sinus issues so they prescribed me the normal antibiotic routine that my regular doctor prescribed in the past. I felt better the following day. I’m still battling the viral side of this thing with congestion but the infection part is over, so I’m grateful.
This suffices when you can’t get to your own doctor.

Avoid this place if you can…
The pros: The clinic is clean and the front desk staff is friendly.
The cons: Everything else.
I went in thinking I had a sinus infection and was in incredible amounts of pain. The clinician didn’t think I had an infection and was more than a little condescending about it. I was given a steroid injection for inflammation and they did a swab to check for bacteria. I was called 4 – 5 days later to be told the swab had come back negative. By that time I had taken off of work and gone to see my specialist who told me I DID have an infection and cleared up the problem for me.
On top of the money I lost just in copays and time off work, I received TWO extra bills resulting from my visit at Wingard. The first bill from the lab they used which showed a ridiculously unnecessary bacteria panel which my insurance refused to fully cover. (Yes, I have good insurance) The second bill from Wingard asking for extra fees for seeing me on a «holiday weekend» and for the steroid injection itself.
Interesting, because I never get extra charges from my ENT and he has given me steroid injections, performed hearing exams and checked for bacteria.
This place is a SCAM. I should have known better. Don’t trust an urgent care clinic that also offers dermatology services.
