We stopped in on our way through town. The atmosphere was great with a ton of tvs. It would be a cool place to watch a game– especially since they have seating for groups with a self-service tap! We had burgers– which were greasy, but good. The service was rough, though. The bartender didn’t pay attention to my re-fill needs, and really didn’t check back as to how everything was. She got a little busy, but still.

I had my daughters college graduation party in the function room over the weekend. From the initial planning right through to the party, everything was EXCELLENT! Lidia was awesome! The entire staff was accomodating, attentive and friendly. The buffet was delicious and plentiful. The shepards pie and fruit platter were exceptionally good. My guests had many good things to say and really enjoyed themselves. There was a good sized dance floor and a nice sized room for a party. I will definitely use them again for a party in the future!

Call me old but the music in this place around dinner time(between 5 and 7) is WAY too loud. One star deducted for that. I wasn’t expecting much my first time here because I don’t drink and I’m a vegetarian. To my surprise, there were plenty of vegetarian options on the menu. I had the house made chips, fried pickles, and the warm portobello mushroom salad. All were very tasty. The apps did come out late and our meal followed a mere 5 minues after. My second time I had the fried pickles again and a veggie burger with cheese and fried pickles with the chips as a side. The veggie burger wasn’t house made but it was tasty and the bun was amazing(strange to comment on but you had to see this thing, it was soft and chewy and really pretty to look at). I’d definitely be back.

I attended a paint nite here last evening which was fabulous. We decided to stay for food and the wait to sit was very long. The girl flat out told me it would be a while because they only had two servers on. I was surprised that they only had two servers knowing they had a big event that evening. The appetizers were good, my entrée wasn’t too appetizing. I ordered the baked haddock which the sauce was so thick and rich(drowned in butter) it tasted like white clam chowder. I will definitely return for paint nite since it’s close to my house but will probably skip out on the food.

My fiancé and I stopped coming because we were so unhappy with the food and service. So we’ve probably not been in a year. Much, much better today. The fish & chips are excellent and they probably have the coldest Heineken on tap anywhere. We’re so glad cause it’s right next to our house and we will surely be back.

When you ask the waitress for food recommendations and she is slow to answer you know your in trouble. Warm irish bread that was not so irish. They were stingy with the buffalo sauce on the chicken tenders. Medium burger cooked well, cold potatoes and over grilled borderline burnt meatloaf. Soggy and cold fries. Absentee waitress, no refills unless asked and tracked down. Won’t be back and advise all to stay away.

No complaints. My fiancé and I stopped here for drinks and bite to eat on way home from Boston. The bartender was very pleasant, professional, inviting and provided great service. We started with the salt & vinegar homemade chips w/onion dip. The chips were cooked perfectly, nice and lite, not undercooked and not overlooked. They could have a little more taste of salt & vinegar but they were tasty and enjoyable. My fiancé had the baked haddock which was like a haddock casserole with spinach and bread crumbs. She really enjoyed it and said it was very good. I had the corned beef and cabbage which came with mashed potatoes and mixed vegetable peas and carrots. The mashed potatoes were good, cabbage was nice and tender and not mushy and corned beef was fantastic. The corned beef was very lean with no fat, extremely tender and could cut with your fork. The food came out pretty quick, food was very good and service from bartender was great.

I’ve been here several times. The last time I was here was during the patriots game has a huge group, maybe 20 people. The waiter was awesome! Kept track of about 20 separate checks and gave us great service also. Plenty of the people we were with for what I would describe as «pains in the asses. The food is pretty basic, standard bar fair. Great atmosphere plenty of TVs good there still action, and as I said always great service!

Murphy’s Law is above all else, loud. It’s more of a bar than a restaurant but the food is reasonably good and affordable. It’s hardly a relaxing place but it’s not too bad.

The manager took us on a quick tour around the restaurant, telling us about their new restaurant on Armistice Blvd near the carousel and showing us the tables with their own taps in the bar area, before seating us in a booth. Seems most guests get this tour of the ‘only place in RI that has taps right at the tables’. Our waitress came right over to introduce herself and take a drink order. She was attentive throughout our stay and very pleasant and personable. We started with the Chips and Curry appetizer which were good. The curry is sweet and mild. The chips are thick fries cooked crispy outside and soft inside. The portion was large and would be good for 4 people. I ordered the Fish and Chips because it comes with peas, which is very UK! I opted to substitute coleslaw for chips since I had chips as my app. The peas were well cooked(not too hard or too soft), the coleslaw has a tart, vinegar taste. The fish is crispy on the outside and for a fried food, it was not overly greasy. It comes with lemon and tartar sauce. I like Guiness, but tried the Kilkenny on draft. It is a bit lighter in color than Guinness and is a bit more tart on the finish. They have a good beer selection and full bar. We were talking about how much we enjoyed the music selection(Skynard, Beatles, Petty) when half way through a song the music switched to Adam Lambert ‘Heart is a ghost town’ followed by Tove Lo ‘Habits(stay high)’. It was just after 5pm, so we are guessing the after 5 crowd is younger? It also felt like they had shut the heat off about this same time. It was a wet rainy day when we visited. The inside of the restaurant is very nice with dark wood walls. There are high tops in the bar area(some with their own taps as mentioned above) with low tops and booths elsewhere around the restaurant. There is one pool table available for play. A note on the rest rooms: The signs are in Irish and apparently the word for ‘men’ begins with a ‘w’ while the word for ‘women’ begins with an ‘m’ so be sure to look at the picture to be sure you have the correct room!

I was a little skeptical of this place before we went. With a name like Murphy’s Law, the impression we got was that it would be a very American restaurant trading on the desire people have to drink excessively like they would on St. Patrick’s Day. Nevertheless, we are new to the neighborhood and are trying out the new food options, so we took a chance on Murphy’s for earlyish dinner on a Saturday, and came out pretty happy! The décor is actually pretty cool. Lots of dark wood, and privacy if you want it, but you can be in the middle of the action around the bar if you prefer that. I like having options. There’s also a small patio out back, but since it was like 90 degrees out, we opted for a cool booth inside. Since we were in a booth, we didn’t get one of those tables with personal pour-your-own beer taps, but I am certainly curious about those and will be back to try them out sometime very soon. As it was, the step up where the booths are is full of movie posters from Irish and«Irish» movies i.e. The Crying Game, The Commitments, The Snapper, Boondock Saints, etc. I really enjoyed that, and the movie names are mirrored in the menu where all the burgers are named after Irish pop culture references like«The Bono», «The Daniel Day-Lewis», «The Waking Ned Devine” – that one has a fried egg on it. As the fiancé pointed out, and I don’t disagree with him, «this place seems to have been decorated by someone who has actually been to Ireland.» Yes, it sounds cheesy just to hear about it, but it actually comes off as quite fun and delightful. The food was also surprisingly excellent, and is the main reason we will be back(that and those table taps). We started with Spinach and Artichoke Dip, which was just delicious. It was creamy, and if I’m being honest, I don’t really remember much else because we were both starving and just wolfed it down. For my entrée, I went with my typical fish and chips. That’s not only the perfect entrée to pair with a pint of Guiness, but it’s also a bit of a litmus test for me. Murphy’s Law did not disappoint. Chips were crunchy and thick steak fries, fish was perfectly beer battered and fried, and the tartar sauce was flavorful and yummy. The Fiancé had The Murphy’s Law burger, in the smaller size(you can also get it 12oz, which just seems like a terrible idea). He was stuffed even with the smaller size, but was very, very happy. We each had a couple pints of perfectly poured Guiness, and were happy people. Overall, we had a great experience at Murphy’s Law, and will certainly be back. They’ve got the big three: great food, great service and great taps. Double bonus because this is the only place I’ve seen in RI that has Killkenny on tap.

Murphy’s Law has AWESOMEBURGERS! Go for«The Bono» which is incredibly satisfying! It’s a good size, all fresh beef(nothing pre packaged or frozen about this burger) cheeseburger! The FRENCHFRIESAREHANDCUT, and If you know the difference between fresh and frozen fries then you know how delicious fresh cut fries are. I would give this place 5 stars, but won’t for the following reasons: 1) Service away from the bar tends to be slow. 2) SERVICEOUTSIDE… Not bad, if you don’t get forgotten about. I keep going back to Murphy’s Law for the delicious burger and fries, but the service needs to improve.

With the groupon this place is excellent. This place is excellent already but the groupon really sells it! I had come here a few times without the groupon and I would give it a 4 star because of price if they didn’t keep having that groupon! Portion sizes here are large. Last time I was in there were 3 men sharing 1 nacho appetizer while they drank beers. So yeah, that paints a picture I guess. And that’s exactly the kind of thing you want from a pub. #1. large portions of greasy food. #2. beer. This place gets busy and has a large menu. You can get tables with taps at them if you want. They also have a dance-floor and play live music sometimes. I like this place because the service is always good and they have a lot of choices. The food is always good too. I’ve never had a bad or bland meal here. They have a large parking lot and they’re right off the freeway so you kinda can’t go wrong. It’s the perfect place to be loud or bring a group. I am definitely a fan of this large pub.

I don’t find the food here to taste any different than that which you would find in just about any chain restaurant. My drink was a little weak, but our waitress was spectacular.

Very slow place for one on a Sunday. We were the only people there. The chicken wings were very good. The burger was ok… but that was about it. The fries were not ok. Is rubbery the new standard in fries? My girlfriend had the shepherds pie. It was different. They use peas and a whipped style top. It wasn’t that good she said. Place looked great and service was very timely.

Stopped here a few times while in town before band practice. Sat at the bar each time and each bartender was friendly and prompt. Steak tips were good but I didn’t care for the rice. Beer selection was nice and it had a great atmosphere. Plenty of options on the TV’s as well.

I had really BIG expectations for Murphy’s Law. I really thought that I was going to walk into an 18th century pub by the way it looked from outside. I was not disappointed but I was shocked to see that it was so modern, which isn’t necessary a bad thing. I liked the size of the bar but more importantly its location in the restraint. It is set below the booth area, which made it more comfortable for couples or families that were trying to hear. I loved that they had live entertainment, and that it was not 100% Irish music. Sometime it can be a bit redundant. I also liked that they had such a wide selection of meals to chose from. The bar menu was definitely bigger than the food menu… Are you really surprised… Irish Bar??? It was a really good all around experience.
