Delicious awesome ice cream! A bit pricey, but you definitely get what you pay for. Make sure to bring cash as they do not accept credit or debit cards and they do not have an ATM on site. I anxiously count down the days until they re-open, and this year I called a week before Memorial Day and the owner actually answered and said sorry they were opening late and proceeded to explain why but thank me for being interested, which was really nice! The service is hit or miss with the younger kids there but I relate as I used to serve their ice cream at Silamar Farm in Millerton NY when I was younger! I’ve been hooked ever since… and I am glad I knew where our ice cream came from because Silamar has switched ownership and they no longer get their ice cream from Heinchons… so I go directly to the source now! Peanut butter chip is the best! You won’t be disappointed!

Great spot in a cute location. Ice-cream was pretty normal, nothing to write home about.

Quaint ice cream shop located in a house. Ice cream is home made, I felt not all flavors were properly developed but the freshness compensated for this it was just so creamy and delicious and it was topped with homemade whipped cream served to you out a bucket; quality ingredients. Small area to eat both on the porch and inside in what would be the entrance of a home.

Truly delicious ice cream, tastes like fresh cream for sure! You also can’t beat the smell of waffle cones baking when you walk in. Love the ambiance, too. I understand the complaints about the staff, many are sitting around when you walk in, but they serve you well enough and it’s really not about the service, it’s about the ice cream! Speaking of the ice cream, talk about HUGE servings. Also, probably the thickest milk shake I’ve ever had, more like a frosty, but bigger doesn’t always mean better. Certain flavors are definitely better than others. I love the maple walnut and the rare turtle ice cream they have, but the ice creams are inconsistent batch to batch and the ice cream mix-ins like nuts, etc, they add to the flavors are sparse. Would it hurt to add a few more walnuts and serve half the amount? I’m for quality over quantity, and that’s not really what you get here. It seems like it’s gotten a bit worse over the 7 years or so I’ve been coming. Definitely missing the soft-serve. Brownie sundae is amazing. Get as much fudge and homemade whipped cream as possible. Location couldn’t’ be much better. Go eat and enjoy the sunset over the wild field in the back. Lovely.

I was looking at the Pawling places on Unilocal and I’ve had ice cream here more than a few times because my son wanted to go in. The staff(teenagers) are rude and not interested in their job, now I understand it’s a minimum wage job, but I can say that they’ll bring their attitude with them if and when they move further into the work force. Now to the ice cream, it’s okay, that’s it just okay, give me Ben & Jerry’s or a better quality store bought ice cream, this is nothing to rave about.

Fabulous ice cream. I went with Mo and Scoot, two fellow frozen dessert connoisseurs, and we were all blown away by the depth of flavor, the smooth texture, and overall experience of eating this ice cream. I got a banana split with Chocolate Cookie Dough, Snickers, and Sweet and Salty(which is probably like salted caramel for you other city folk). The hot fudge is unlike any other I’ve had — rich in flavor, and oddly(yet delightfully) thin, so it enrobes everything it touches. The cost of their hot fudge to go is a bit pricy($ 18 for a Ball jar?) so I convinced myself I’d just have to come back. Chocolate Raspberry was another standout flavor, and the Lazyman is perfect if you like chocolate toppings and don’t want to decide(hence the name). Word to the wise: the ice cream shop ISNOT on East Main Street in Pawling — it’s south of downtown on Route 22, past the interchange with Route 55, and after the road narrows to two lanes.

The best local ice cream, a must go if you are in the area. Worth a 20 min drive. Always friendly staff.

Great ice cream does not make up for disrespectful, and unprofessional service. We come here 3 times a week and have finally had it. Tonight, after rude teenagers explained to us that being open until 10 doesn’t mean we can come there at 9:30, they begrudgingly scooped our ice cream anyway. You see, they wanted to leave and it was made clear to us that despite the 35 minutes left before closing time, their friends would not wait. They did not want to serve us toppings because they had already put those away. They couldn’t make a milkshake because they had already dumped the soft serve. Then, a group of 12 comes in(an owner’s dream of vacationers) — a lazy teenager’s nightmare. And they were not afraid to say so. They turned away most of them and then turned off the outside lights before any of us had a chance to get to the parking lot. I went in and asked the manager to turn the lights back on, so we could eat the ice cream-absolutely not! It is their policy, despite the dangerous dark stairs, to turn off the lights at closing. Clearly they were closing. We understood that. The 8 smart talking, foul-mouthed clan waiting for the emerging workers were clear proof of that. The ice cream is good, but I won’t spend my money(and it is not cheap!) where it is not wanted. My advice, wait to go here. If they fix the problem, I will amend my rating. Until then… the grocery across the street carries Ben & Jerry’s best flavors and they are open late. For real.

OMG. No– I’m not kidding. This is what we really dream about when we desire the ice cream we remember from our youth. It is fresh, creamy, not too sweet, luscious silky cold dreaminess. I particularly like the sweet cream, mounds, black raspberry, mocha flavors. Their hot fudge is DIVINE– silky, smooth, dark, hot & yummy. Their whipped cream is just that– dense & light @ the same time– w a fresh dairy flavor. The setting is an old farm house w/bistro tables & farm memorabilia, hard wood floors & a view of the deck off an open field w/a farm off in the distance. Service is typical fresh faced teenagers who are polite & knowledgeable & quick. Do yourself a favor: if you find yourself on Rte. 22 — stop & give yourself a treat– its a simple pleasure that will stay with you until you go again…‘cuz u will!
