The sushi at this location is outstanding, and as a company we eat there all the time. I wanted also to give Patricia some recognition, anytime she is out of a certain type, she fixes it for you with a smile and excellent customer service. I appreciate the hospitality and the fresh food, if you haven’t had the opportunity to try it, you owe it to yourself.

I hate to say this, because I generally like Fresh Market for certain things: Produce, coffee and other bulk items, even if they are a bit pricey. I have tried their meat market twice, however, and on neither occasion was I pleased. While staying at the beach my friend and I and our wives decided to cook the rare steak. The New York Strips looked great(again very pricey) but we figured for that price they had to be good quality. Well, they were not good but were exceedingly tough, even cooked as rare as I like them. My friend, who liked his medium well(Lord knows why) found his to be too tough to eat. Never complained to the store, but didn’t forget either. Later, in another trip, we needed prosciutto for an Italian dish. It too was tough, along with being dry and way saltier than it should have been. Although I didn’t buy it, my wife did and said it was supposed to have been real Italian prosciutto. For the price it should have been. I ‘m afraid I will not be shopping at the Fresh Market again for meats or seafood.

This place is great for foodies, well, for anyone. It’s a Whole Foods on steroids. The layout of the store is a bit cramped, aisles a bit narrow, so you’ll do some waiting while others browse the incredible variety of practically everything. There are literal barrels of two dozen whole bean coffees of various origins, bins of bulk grains and rices, the produce is fantastic, a chef’s dream as far as shopping for ingredients. The star of the show has to be the pristine display cases of butcher cut meats, fresh seafood of all kinds, spotless and well laid out. This one also has one heck of a wine selection as well as hard to find cheeses such as rare brie and others like Manchego, and the cracker and go-wish selection at the cheese/deli section is outstanding. Took me a half hour just to look around at this section alone. Help seems to be friendly and while we didn’t have staff chasing us around offering help, they did stop what they were doing any time we inquired about items we were looking for. This is the best store anywhere for miles around Pawley’s and I’ll certainly shop there every time I pass through.

Great selection of products. I usually shop at wholefoods(for meat) or trader Jo’s for everything else. This market had a great selection of everything and meat wasn’t as expensive as wholefoods but it was fresh and great quality. I’m just visiting but if I’m back again, I would definitely shop here again.

This is the best grocery store around. Lots of great coffee selections and special goodies.

If Trader Joes and Whole Paycheck(Foods) had a baby, it would be something like The Fresh Market. I came here to stock up on our beach vacation and was pretty pleased. Pros: Clean and pleasant inside. Very calming atmosphere Produce looked and was great Butcher was friendly and helpful Found everything I was looking for without too much trouble Wasn’t crowded, but I’m used to Philadelphia Whole Foods which is like Los Angeles traffic Cons: Prices are a bit high Selection can be limited — it is a small store Very few registers — this wasn’t a problem the two times I was here but if the place was packed, I could see a log jam occurring I would definitely stop here again when I return to Pawley’s Island.

Fresh Market is not only an excellent grocery store with a tight selection of bulk goods, quality meats, and deli selections, but the produce is truly top-notch. Everything is fresh and tasty but they are light on Organics if that’s a big deal for look elsewhere.(I suspect this is because of the space allowed businesses in the Pawleys Island area.) Pro tip — if they are offering samples of a given fruit, you might as well just fill up your basket it’s going to be superb. My favorite grocery store is still Wegman’s, but the meat counter here is probably better. Also the prepared food items like the ribs, chicken wings, calzones, sandwiches, slaw, and salads are very tasty. The weakest points are price, selection, and how many of their bakery items are not created in-store. Some of the bakery offerings are amazing, others are less than inspiring. In all I don’t recommend visiting the Fresh Market if you have a tight budget, or if you need a specific brand(like Frito’s), but otherwise it is an amazing premium shopping experience.

I love Fresh Market, but I admit, it is pretty pricey if you are working with a budget. The selection/variety of products is VERY narrow, but they seem to carry the best of the best. The meat, dessert, and made-in-store counters are awesome! The produce is fresh, fresh, fresh. It is one of those places that you can go in needing to just pick up a quick thing you forgot to get, and end up spending/getting WAY more than you ever intended! This can be good or bad I suppose! I have read other reviews that compare it to a Whole Foods, but this place is smaller and whereas Whole Foods carries many aisles of toiletries, vitamins, and non-food items, Fresh Market is definitely focused primarily on FOOD. Don’t get me wrong though, I really love this place! It is worth a visit!

They don’t carry a whole lot of organic foods. Best kind of chicken offered was«hormone free, no antibiotics» which isn’t BAD but isn’t organic. Lots off fruits/veggies only«conventional» which is NOT organic. Really friendly. Butcher counter kept giving us samples of cooked meats.

Nicely laid out store, good produce, amazing meat/seafood department, wonderful bakery that is always churning out fresh baked goods, decent selection for a small store, friendly employees. With all of these things going for it, I don’t care if it is a little more expensive than the other grocery stores in town.

I loooove The Fresh Market. Their selection of trail mix and nuts is amazing. My kids love that you can make your own peanut butter and they get a kick out of the pig shaped ground pork in the butcher section. I am in love with their deli. The pimento sandwich is like heaven on a roll. My daughter enjoys their soup so much that she will get it on a hundred degree day in July. I’ve never had a long wait here, but I’ve also never gone at prime time.

So you’re on vacation with friends and/or family, and you’re looking at a week long stay at a beach house. You don’t really want to eat out for all of your meals, but you’re willing to splurge a little bit on your grilling supplies or a nice bottle of wine. Bingo — Fresh Market… Sure you can’t shop here all the time unless you’re rich and famous, but you can pick up odds and ends that turn a regular meal into something a little more special. Peanut butter machine(nuts into butter before your eyes)? Check. Huge selection of trail mixes and other dry goods? Check. Great olive, cheese, etc. bar? Check. Great baked goods? Check. Nice wine and beer selection? And on, and on. Pricey? Check — but this was a great place to get a handful of things that made our week in Pawley’s that much better. Check it out — totally worth a visit.
