This has been a truck stop/country diner since the 1970s, the building is tired, and it has a roller-coaster reputation… as it opens under new management/ownership. So WE will concentrate on the Current restaurant. The(Unsweetened) Tea tastes like a good strong Tea should, and the coffee tastes like Coffee should, an «A» for both. My salad was fresh, and had a lot of tomatoes, etc… Not perfect, but fully as good as/better than average for a diner side salad. I had the Hot Beef Sandwich. The beef was a little tough, could have stood a ‘steak knife.’ The white bread was not the promised«TEXASTOAST» but they did compensate by having added an extra slice, so I let it slide. …The gravy was great! It was a nice balance between brown-gravy and country gravy. WOOT! I had the tasty Apple Pie with cheese… a diner classic, they didn’t manage to wreck it, even if not ONTHEMENU as such. The waitstaff was prompt and attentive, without hovering. Drinks were filled at nice intervals, waitress knew the menu, and they offered condiments, if desired. Overall I enjoyed the meal.

We had a lunch break here on our route to Kansas via I-35N. We figured that country cooking would be better than other items(like salad) and loved the grilled pork chop we ordered. The cheeseburger too was good. Juicy and not too heavy. The service was warm and friendly. It was sweet of the waitress to introduce us to the waitress in the next shift as she signed off.

I’ve eaten a lot of places in my life this place is the worst. Salad was rotten. Eggs were raw even after sending them back. Sweet tea tasted like water and I don’t know how you mess up corn but they did. The waitress never asked if we needed anything and acted put out when we asked for a napkin.
