Hillcrest Wine & Liquors

I moved into the area about six months ago and I have a liquor store about five blocks from my house. However, I choose to drive almost a mile and half to Hillcrest instead. Why? First of all, the husband and wife that own this place are ALWAYS cheerful and care how their customers are doing, regardless of whether they’re buying one beer or a $ 100+ bottle of Johnny Walker. Plus, for a small store, they have a huge selection of wines, liquors and beers (as well as snacks that run the gamut from commonplace to those you would only find in another country). If you need something from the fridge, just ask and the owner will run in there and get it for you. And every time I’ve needed a recommendation for a good wine, he’s been quick to offer up a suggestion for something that never breaks the bank, yet always goes over well with the people I’m picking it up for. This place is truly one of the gems of Paterson!
