I usually don’t give 5 stars because it needs to be exceptionally out standing in food, cost & service. Talk about food. Fatteh hummus ! Falafel ! Olives ! Meat platter. Just phenom quality. Chicken Shwarmha was amazing ! Meat quality was fantastic or should i say the cooking technics or may be the marination process. You have al basha across the street but this one is way better ! Its a steal i swear in terms of cost. All that food i ordered was $ 27. Newyork city Resturant will make you bleed. The service was top notch. The dude got us everything on time. Anything i asked was done. No pretentious attitude or blah blah. Clean service !!! Guys come here. Order appetizer sampler Half chicken or Shwarmha Service is awesome Reasonable priced Cool spot Good atmosphere & yeah its Halal.

Service is extremely slow even when they’re not fully packed and when you ask them a million times to simply take your order… it takes them over 20 minutes to just do that. Yes, the food is very good and so is the hookah but they really need to work on their service. Nobody likes to wait 30 mins just to place an order… than more than an hour for the food and soda. Other than that, food is good and outside patio is nice to chill with groups of friends.

Outstanding food quality, especially of the meats — the chicken, hummus overall food was cooked to perfection. Great quantity size as well: you get a whole hearty plateful of deliciousness. Breads are not fresh(out of bag) — but you get quantity. And best of all the pricing is very reasonable for the quantity and pricing. I would recommend coming in here on a nice day — they have ample outdoor seating. For a moment, when your sitting outside hearing the middle eastern tunes you forget that you are in the heart of Paterson — really relaxing environment. They are in the process of re-modeling(by the time you read this they may be done) so likely they will up their game as far as décor(it’s Paterson so do not expect something that will be out of this world — but for Paterson, very good setup). The downfalls I would say are 3 points —(1) seating arrangements — while they are expanding, their is limited seating when the weather is not good(2) there is absolutely no parking(typical paterson), so you have drive around to look for it.(3) And also the service is below standard(this was primarily the reason why I rated 4 instead of 5). If they simply have their staff dress uniformly & teach them proper service etiquette would be ideal eatery in Paterson. Nonetheless, for the food quality /quantity alone would highly recommend.

I visited Abu Raas last week — food is great and«Abu Carlos» our waiter was great! We had a variety of plates and all were quite delicious and authentic arabic cuisine. I’d definitely go back, especially for an afternoon or lunchtime meal.

The best place to eat Kabab. Tried the small plate bbq platter and it’s more than enough for 2 people. The hummus is delicious and is highly recommendable. Staff is very friendly. Ambience is casual and was little crowded on a Saturday afternoon. However the space is adequate and people are not over each other. So crowd should not bother anyone at all. If you are in the area and is in mood for some kebab don’t look beyond.

Came here after a long shift at the hospital for a pick me up, recommended by my SO who is Arabic. Came on a Sunday evening, pretty quiet. We just sat down anywhere and was quickly greeted by a host. He brought out olives and pickled veggies, however no pita bread tho. I think they ran out and had to send someone to go buy more. We ended up getting the hummus, shish kebabs and lamb chops. The hummus, omfg. Probably the best hummus I’ve ever had. Super flavorful, creamy, and the olive oil on top. Holy moly. Onto the shish kebabs, super tender and juicy. I got it with the french fries, and it was just an amazing dish. Lastly, the lamb chops, my SO stated that they were delicious, but a little on the chewy side. He got it with the rice, and it was delicious. The rice was light, and fluffy. It was topped with a little olive oil and nuts. Off one star because we didnt get pita bread for a while, and it was cold. And because the rice for the second dish was also a little cold. However, I will 100% be returning to explore their delicious menu some more. Happy eating!

Food is consistent and tasteful It is very common middle Eastern food is either overly spiced or bland. It has the right amount of herbs and spices. Very popular to the locals. They get very busy during lunch and dinner times worth the wait. Décor is nothing to rave about but food is top tier

Me and my husband absolutely love their food. Great quality and quantity. However they can improve on their customer service. when eating at the restaurant waiters are hard to catch or very slow.

Went to Abu Rass to enjoy a good middle eastern meal. We were not disappointed. When we walked in we were quickly greeted by the waiter who doubles as a host and told we could sit anywhere. While we got pitas and pickles almost immediately– it took the menus 5 minutes to arrive. Entering our order took another 10 minutes. We had the appetizer platter — which had some of the best middle eastern salads in the tristate area. Hummus was good, but also salads made with eggplant and cauliflower. Everything tasted great. For entrees — we opted for the small sampler platter. Here, we were a little disappointed, since the meat seemed to have been waiting for delivery to our table long enough to cool down. Otherwise it was mostly good with the beef and chicken shish kebabs were the best. The food came in ample amounts. Had we taken a dessert — we would have surely exploded, so to spare the other patron we opted not to take dessert. It took another 30(yes thirty) minutes. To sum up — the food was excellent. The service while friendly and well meaning — is slow and lacking and can impact the food quality. It is certainly annoying.

If you are craving for some authentic middle eastern fare with honest and warm friendly service, this is the place to go to. I went in a few nights ago with kids and friends of ours who love Mediterranean but never knew where to go. We ordered large mix grill and eggplant fateh. The eggplant fateh is the best I have eaten in the tristate area, mix grill meats are perfectly seasoned and if you order some falafels then you are in heaven. I have been going here for 5 years and have never looked back, no other place comes even close. Great value very friendly staff eager to help you order right stuff on the menu. This is a hidden treasure of Patterson check it out.

Deliciousness continues as it seems like every new dish I try is scrumptious. Among the numerous appetizers Abu Rass offers the Fatteh Eggplant and stuffed Falafel looked worthy of trying. From the smooth and earthy eggplant, crunchy peanuts, crispy rich olive oil toasted pita bread slices, and tangy/tart yogurt sauce adorned on top; these unique blends of tastes and textures made the Fatteh Eggplant extraordinary. It was one of those dishes I just couldn’t stop eating and if my entrée didnt arrive I probably would have finished the entire plate along with several pita breads! Stuffed Falafel was quite good too. Nice crunchy falafel exterior(wasn’t too hard this time) and a warm center stuffed with a mixture of onions, tomato, and peppers that added some nice heat. Fit for at least 3 healthy adults the Large Mix Plate had all the protein goodness from my previous ordered Small Mix Plate just in regal portions. Word of advice: Accompanied this robust lunch by drinking their tea with fresh mint and it was so soothing paired to the rich proteins. I highly recommend the tea with fresh mint.

I’ve been to so many Arabic restaurants in the U.S. and the Middle East and this place is by far the best in terms of food and service. The mashawi were fresh, tender and very flavorful! Tea, hummus, falafel and the salad were amazing and not to mention the generosity of our host as our waiter added complementary appetizers. Definitely coming back here!

As I am writing this review I am craving their delicious yummy food! Lol, seriously this place has authentic middle eastern food for an amazing price and amazing quantity! You can not go wrong in trying everything on their menu, I am surprised every time! I order at least once a week or once every two weeks from here. The waiters are very sweet and always helpful. My favorite dishes are: 1) KABSA(I’m desi so this dish literally is like our food!!) 2) Half Grilled Chicken(So inexpensive so literally half a chicken and delicious rice or fries) 3) Shawarmas(beef or chicken I love!) I can’t say enough how much I love this place, but to top it all off they recently added hookah?! Definitely now my go to place for all casual events! 5-stars give this place a try.

One of my favorite spots in NJ to get food. You can drink tea and smoke hookah while waiting for your food, and when the food gets to your table, it’s absolutely delicious… every time! Go with a group, get the mixed appetizers, enjoy yourselves, relax. This is a place where you can have a wonderful experience without a doubt.

This place is OK. I have had way better Arab food in Paterson. I have been ordering from this spot for months(Work orders from here). The food is no different than any of the other Arab spots in Paterson. The inside décor, lighting, is great. The wait sucks. The service is so-so as well. The parking in the area is eh(you park on the street). For the life of me, I can’t understand why people love this spot. I have not experienced great food here, nothing memorable at all. I’d rather go to Kumah or Al Raouche or Bab Al Hara, those places gave me food that was very memorable. My recommendation: Go find a different restaurant and enjoy the food.

This place is awesome. I met up with a buddy to catch up over dinner. We brought beer but we had to follow Islamic law and abstain from it. We were able to enjoy dining outside. It felt like I was eating on someone’s driveway. Oh wait, we were! But, at least it’s covered with a tent and not just an umbrella. We shared a mixed grill platter. It had some much of kebabs, grilled beef, and chicken. There was plenty of rice and grilled veggies. The wait staff was very nice and helpful. Not all of them fully understood English but its Ok. I didn’t care so much of the pita bread and olive they bring out as starters. They did hooked us up with free hot tea. Maybe because they turned us down from our beers. I think they accept cc but we paid in cash. I’d would come back and take advantage dining outside on a nice day. Parking may be an issue on since they are located on a bust main street.

Hands down, the best Arab restaurant in Paterson! We have been to probably 80% of the other spots in the area and this one definitely blew it out of the water with taste and cost. A family of 7, fully stuffed and packed enough for lunch or dinner the following day. The mixed appetizer platter with separate plates of humus, babaganoush, yoghurt, kibbeh(delicious), cold sautéed eggplant, and two other dips that were really great! All that for 16 bucks. They also have great fattoush salad. I also oddly have to comment that the chicken fingers were really good and that both my husband and I ate some out of my sons plate. :-& We then ordered two mixed platters, one large and one small. I would say that one large would have been enough and then some. The meat melted in your mouth, very well-seasoned and fresh meat without any after-taste. So very very good. Service was excellent even though they were really busy– they were all very hands-on and friendly. We ended with tea at the end, and sitting in the outside area, with dessert we brought(with their advice and our excited obedience to get Nablus basbousa and kunafa), it was a great evening. This is giving Al-Basha a run for its money. See you very soon.
